my bonus is in this week! such a happy thing!
most of it went into savings for i've atrocious low cash savings - dun even ask how much...
how i would like to reward myself with a big ticket item!
but no, reality is i've to save up for a big ticket cash outflow which doesn't translate to anything tangible (thank you for nothing!) at end of the year. @_@
major zzzzz.

still, it doesn't hurt to reward myself with small stuff right?!
so this weekend, i've pamper myself by catching up with frivolous stuff - mani & pedi, eyebrow tweezing - and of cos frivolous shopping!
loafers from charles & keith (surprisingly, quite comfy. been ages since my last pair from them).
top & skirt from gg5, their new range aint too bad!

the boys have their fair share too!
new shoes & bag for yz, clothings for both and their fav.- lego ninjago sticker book.
the husband, dinner treats and dinner treats! LOL.

oh and i bought food for the mind again.
after next week when the last episodes of the K-drama im currently chasing is over, i will start reading again.
cant wait!

asked hubbi if im worse when chasing a drama or reading a book, he concurred with me that im definitely more obsessed when reading.
i think the main reason is i cant control the speed which the drama plays out (fast forwarding gets you nowhere really) and i typically like to watch when the kids are asleep so there is minimal disturbance (i find it hard to concentrate on watching when there are noises around me).
on the other hand, i read fast and when im in that turbo mode consuming the book, i tuned out the world.
and the bad thing is, i can pick up a novel anytime. in the toilet, in the car, when the kids are around me.
it doesnt matter. im lost.
and i got very grouchy when you disturb me in that mode.
so the husband is not a big fan when i started reading a new novel. ha.
oh well, the reading still has to go on i guess.

now the kids are asleep! i need to catch up on reading  - magazines that is! hehe.

happy happy 7 years anniversary to us!

25.09.2013 marks the 7th year anniversary for us!
yet another year of marriage life passes and i wonder if we have grown stronger together as husband and wife..
still looking forward to the day where we can do a proper dinner and spend the rest of evening/night celebrating without the kids... :P

so, both hubbi and I took the afternoon off for this special day.
he came to fetch me at 12+ from my office and off we go for lunch!
lunch was at forlino at one fullerton. as usual, i ve tried the food before and wanted the husband to have a go.
so its beef tenderloin for him and cod fish for me. and AS USUAL, he was totally not impressed.
argh. i must remind meself NO MORE bringing him to try too atas food.
all wasted on him....crystal jade is good enough for him!

next up, we went for the princely treasures from the house of liechtenstein at national museum.
ticket was going at 1-for-1 so its only 10 bucks for 2 of us. madness.
soooo glad to see baroque paintings once again. i really miss europe and its museums. :(
the collection is pretty small so we were done in an hour or so.

then it was onwards to ion for more food and chatting!
we had an early dinner at marmalade pantry despite the full long lunch....*burp*

the best thing about today is it feels like we are back to dating days.
when conversation topics revolve around anything but the kids.
and im really glad laughter is still dominating the talk.
even when most of the time its me laughing at him... hahaha.

weekend is coming to an end again....
after the tiring F1 concert on friday night, it was almost 3 am before im all bathed and ready for bed... @_@
yesterday was spent rather quietly with the boys at home, with me "recuperating" and napping in the late afternoon.
attended my cousin's wedding at traders hotel and it was really tiring handling both boys as they turned all rowdy in the presence of grandparents....

some photos:

and today, wanted to buy the tickets for running man fan meeting ONLY to find out that ALL tickets are sold out.
omg. and the ticket sale only started yesterday.
super zzzz. :(

BUT i found out from sistic website that matchbox twenty is coming to our small sunny island in NOV!
OMG, im like their (or rather rob thomas) biggest fan since 16 when i heard their debut album - do you remember "PUSH"?!.
awww... so now im going to their concert in 1.5 months time!! cant wait!

anyway, went zara at vivo today and realised this season is really too black for my liking.
uninspiring designs and the drab colors!!
still, i bought a BLACK long sleeve top. zzzz

i hope the spring color will be in when im doing the shopping in HK in nov. *teehee*

big bang is a blast!

my colls and i bought the F1 walkaround tickets for friday night back then when we knew that big bang is coming.
we were pretty excited until we read that the concert will only start at 11.30pm till 12.15 am last week.
zzzzz. what a damper.
as the ticket is not really expensive at 68 bucks, i was entertaining the thought of giving up the ticket entirely.
just doesnt make that much sense to brave the crowd for only a good 45mins and then facing the blah problem of making my way home..

but im glad we made it in the end.
we met only at 1030pm at city hall with the intention to just watch the performance from afar.
no way can we compete with kids who actually started queuing up and chopping good seats at 4pm!

but miraculously, we managed to make it to a really good spot.
the crowd started standing up and moving forward at 11pm so we just followed suit..
before we know it, we half walked, half being pushed forward and ended up in the fan zone..
and then we are just 5 human rows away from the side stage! *hoot*

so, we got to see the big bang members up close when they came to our side of the stage! :D
and the best thing is, the performance lasted all the way from 1130 to almost 1am!
for 68 bucks, i think its damn worth it.

yes they were this close! really like a mini concert!
top: T.O.P! haha
bottom: Seungri & GD

this is my first time seeing them sing live and they are really good.
very interactive with the crowd too - trying their best to communicate with limited english. ha.

i took videos mainly and showed to the boys who are huge fans of their fantastic baby!
if they are coming to sg again soon for concert, i sure am going!  :))

good recharge in the middle of the week

it has been a happy week for me thus far.
since it's the school holidays, i have taken 2 days off in the middle of the week to spend quality time with the boys.
also, managed to catch up with friends too.

lunch was with candice on monday. its a great thing to find a soulmate in her when it comes to K-dramas! :P
chasing serials together and having endless discussion on and offline sounds crazy but very gratifying. hehe.
then its lunch with fifi on tuesday before she pops anytime from now!
cant wait to see her little prince. :)
waiting for the hot mama to return to the shopping scene with me.. yeah!

friday lunch was with zm even though we are meeting again on saturday. LOL.
ahh.. i love catching up with friends during weekday lunches.
feels like time is fully utilized!

yesterday was dinner with the gang for candice's bday. :)
venue was supposed to be at hai di lao at clarke quay. but even though we called 2 weeks back, we were still put on waitlist. @_@
so we reached at 530pm, got a queue # and adjourned to paulaner for happy hour. hiaks.
after some drinks and finger food, we made our way back to our proper steamboat dinner at 730pm!

the service is impeccable, food is fresh and charges is very reasonable.
i can understand why the mad crowds and long queues.....
we got candice a damn chio DVF clutch and as usual crazy banter alll the way.

so glad its the weekend again

the working week that just passed has been super crazy.
there are 2 hiccups, and major ones they are :(, in the week alone.
i was in office till midnight on wednesday for that. *sob*
but again, anything will pass with time.
we just got to make sure we learn something out of all this mess....

finally its the weekend and i really look forward to spending time with the boys.
out of the working week, i was home late for 3 nights..
they started making me promise that i will be home early towards the end of the week... sigh.

it was a good thing that i was able to go off on the dot yesterday.
hubbi came to fetch me (since he was off for the afternoon) with the boys and we made our way to central for a yummeh dinner at seoul yummy.
followed by an ice cream treat to the boys while strolling along the singapore river after dinner.
it was good simple time spent with them. :)

and today, i decided to hit town which we ususally dont for saturdays.
but i feel that i need to cheer myself up seriously.
photos with the boys - all happy to go out!
(oh, thats my new specs btw!)

finally made my way to i.t shop @ wisma!
i missed it when i was in HK the other time.
and i like what i see. :) quality clothings with really nice designs. :D
and of cos, i bought a denim dress & a jacket.

and one of the highlight for today is we had teppanyaki dinner!
sound simple enough!? but hubbi and i didnt have this ever since yz arrived in our lives 6 years back... since it is not really kids friendly.
we were so happy that the boys are finally big enough to sit through such a dinner with minimal fuss.
the husband finally tried paris baguette for the first time.
its original pudding is really delicious!!

top: waiting for our teppayaki food!
bottom: desserts and pastries @ paris baguette!

mooncake festival is coming! so how to miss the fair @ taka!
the usual tradition for me: peony jade mao shan wang pandan mooncakes!!

we ate half tonight. need to monitor the darn calories!

its been a good saturday! think the best way to spend tomorrow is just to nua away.

soju & limoncello

this weekend has been a foodie one once again - not good.
after a long working week, its always good to wind down on friday evening, no?
had korean dinner at a pretty authentic restaurant near red dot museum with my colleagues.
im not sure i was more drawn by the company or the soju... lol.

anyway, the evening was well spent with good food, soju (!) and company!
3 women can really talk alot of nonsense, i realised. heh.

yesterday was long, tiring but a good day nevertheless.
woke up early for the elder son's enrichment class, went home caught up with some chores and was out of the house once more!
met up with gb and jt for ktv @ partyworld from 3-7pm!
we had fun belting out songs from yesteryears! think mid 90's eg: 宽容 by jeff chang, 像风一样的男子 by 陈晓东... etc. LOL

after ktv, gb and me adjourned to meet the rest of the gang at shinyeh for yummeh taiwanese food!
we were yakking non-stop till closing time.
after that, it was onwards for some drinking at clarke quay... :D

we had wine at one of the drinking place there and was given free samples of limoncello to try.
limoncello is a kind of liquor from italy which the locals typically drink shots of it after meals for digesting food purpose.
it has a great lemony taste.
still, it is liquor which still burn the throat a little when it goes down, not unlike tequila.
though we were pretty surprised by its high alcohol content >25%, given its easy taste.
hmm, i think we should have that next time soon...

and today shall be a lazy day with the boys before the whole closing madness start again tomorrow...

some outfits for the week:
