"Have you come here to play Jesus?
To the lepers in your head" ~ One from U2
i have said it more than once, but im going to say it again. U2 "One" is really good. even after so many year, it still sound to me like the greatest song ever.
updates on renovation
renovation has been gaining a life on its own. one that im pretty much not involved with. heh. kudos to ah long for supervising it! :)
so far laminated flooring was done. lights, air-con and toilet accessories were all installed. we are left with capentry work namely,
-feature wall for plasma tv
-feature wall for bomb shelter
-kitchen cabinets
-wardrobe
-vanity top in master toilet
-bay bench in study room
after which, we are ready to move in after purchasing the remaining furnitures!! yippee yay!
speaking of furnitures, we've bought our mattress from harvey norman last weekend! :)
the brand was OMAZZ. anyone heard of this before? http://www.omazz.com/
stumbled upon it when i went to the mattress fair at harvey norman (ALL mattresses were going at 50-80% discount! yes including all the major brands like Sealy, Simmons, Serta, Dunlopillo etc). i was actually quite decided on getting one of Sealy's posturepedic range. but as OMAZZ is recommended by one of my colleague who got it sometimes earlier this year, and i love the way the mattress supports and provides comfort after testing it.
OMAZZ mattresses are 100% latex and not exactly very cheap. they are almost the same like Tempur just that Tempur one is memory foam while OMAZZ is latex. which means no springs! and no need to flip/rotate mattress and minimal sagging as compared to conventional springs mattresses!
all in all, it was a good buy (i think... ha). original price for our mattress (Queen size) was going at $7,599 but for the weekend alone, it's going at only $2,299! the Sealy that we want is at $2,199 after discount. in the end, we opt for the one that we feel that are more comfortable given the slight difference in price.
haha all the junk above on A mattress. but hey, i think mattress is the most important piece of furniture for a house (apart from the TV perhaps, couch potato dan may be able to vouch for this).
some misc photos
ah long & me in our house
me & my fav. baby
tada! limited photos of my house - common toilet!
lights for my master bedroom!
anyway what do you think of nice but boring people? i mean, im not exactly the most interesting person in the world. but recently, im having more than my fair share of such people. *help*
i miss travelling. *sob*

i want bold red for one wall of my living room.
tell me is this BOLD RED? look more like freaking pink to me..
damn. wonder what went wrong. i seriously hope its either a case of wrong paint used (so my contractor can jolly re-paint again) or as my contractor claim, there are still 2 more coats to go.
ARG!

misc updates here and there!
12th april
its our 4 years 2 months anniversary! lolz~ we went waraku for dinner and i must declare to the whole wide world that i LOVE waraku's potato mentai! it simply made me orgase with its melting cheese and potatoes! cheese & potatoes. i can live on these two like forever (forever being used as a relative term here. realistically meaning 1 week or so. :P)!
absolutely yummy yakiniku don & potato mentai!~
ah long's first time to waraku!
and finally, i managed to print out some from my huge back-logged digital pixs last wed too. the last time i mass-developed photos was in June '05 after my Korea trip so imagine the huge number of photos awaiting me to select and develop this time round!
much as i tried to be as selective and stringent as possible (Eg: i only printed out like 4(?) pixs for my D&D 2005 when i've near to 70-80 pixs alone for that event), i still ended up developing 200 pixs and being $40 poorer! *madness*
madly-developing photos
14th April
went for my ever-first virgin pedicure with fiona on fri morning! yes, i've tried pedis at BKK and manis in SG before but never pedis in SG! it was fun and i chose a delectable plum color! im gonna wear open-toed shoes for the coming week at least. the pedi is too good to be ruined!
after the pedi, i rushed to my new house with ah long to meet up with our contractor to discuss the design of our capentry works (namely kitchen cabinets, feature walls for bomb shelter/TV, bay bench, vanity top for master toilet). it was real hard work. the meeting went from 3 to 6.30pm. i never know deciding on designs, colors etc can be so taxing. *bleh* a good 3 weeks before i can see how the designs translate from paper to physical form. i hope they turn out just fine! *crossed fingers*
after that, it's off to waraku (again..) to meet up with Neleus they all for dinner. what a tiring day for me with all the travelling to and fro! almost got blisters on my poor pretty (freshly pedicured, okie?!) feet..
nevertheless, we had fun like we ALWAYS do. desserts were great at this shop....i forgot its name...seems to be azarusoba at marina sq. its next to billy bombers! not exactly cheap (mine is $8++) but servings is huge and best to be shared between 2.
pp & huishan with the menu ~ huge array of dessert choices!
waiting for our table...
me & my dessert! (soft ice-cream with black sesame paste!)
15th April
our toilet basins, taps, kitchen sink, storage heater, rainshower set and toilet accessories were delivered to our house at 12 noon! we (more of ah long! :P) sweated like a pig unwrapping and checking the stock for completeness. but the effort was worth it! i love our rainshower set especially! cant wait for our contractor to install all the above. but, our toilet tiles, toilet bowls and doors are all blue (bleh~) in color. damn the HDB rule that forbid us to hack the tiles within 3 years. refusal to change toilet bowls and doors stems wholly from lack of budget. *sobz*
went to catch "where the truth lies" with dear dear later in the day. Gist of the show as below:
"A female journalist tries to uncover the truth behind the breakup, years earlier, of a celebrated comedy team after the duo found a girl dead in their hotel room. Though both had airtight alibis and neither was accused, the incident put an end to their act." (extracted from www.imdb.com)
the show is R(21) and judging from the poster, you can expect lots of nudity scenes. there is one particualr scene which im sure will excite most guys...yay! a lesbian sex scene! :)
having said the above, the show still shines from solid performances from Kevin Bacon and Colin Firth. Bacon, especially, rocks with his Lanny Morris role. this show is supposedly a suspense drama which unfolds itself slowly but surely to reveal the truth behind the murder (focal point of the whole show). however, i feel that the show will come off better as a novel. incidentally, this show IS adapted from a novel.
16th April
dear dear and me went jalan besar to shop for lightings for our house. within 2 hours, we bought the entire house lightings from a single shop! Lights Arcade is the place to go if you are looking for quality lightings (they use either Osram (the best!)or Philips), sincere professional advice (jane is one awesome salesgirl) and reasonable pricing. Choices can be limited here but im sure one should be able to find here most of the lightings that a house required.
delivery of lightings are set for coming saturday. cant wait for them to be installed sooN! by this weekend, we can expect painting to be done for the whole house. next week, we can expect laying of laminated wood for bedrooms, installation of lightings, toilet accessories and wardrobe for master bedroom! yipee!

updates on wedding preparations
been receiving a lot of "how's your wedding preparations nowadays?".
mostly from acquaintances who probably ask because they've nothing better to ask. some from friends who are just not too-updated about my wedding preparations progress. and it dawned on me suddenly that too little are being mentioned here even though this is supposed to be my "wedding" blog. it seems to evolve to MY blog over time, much to the distaste of a particular Mr. Ah Long. bah, whatever. being the sole author to this blog gives me freedom to write just about anything under the sun, no?
okie peeps, here are the updates on my wedding preparations:
1) gown & suit: going for 2nd fitting for my WG & 1st fitting for my EG coming Monday. final fitting will be in may before photoshoot in june. ah long will be tailoring his shirts this mth-end. his suit is long done and collected in mar.
2) wedding shoes: i got mine made @ leaping lizard already. its simple and not overly done (for those few who actually saw). silver and open-toed. hope to recycle it for normal use after wedding.
3) banquet: quiet at the moment. invitation cards will be given to us in june for printing and will be pass to you guys by JULY! food tasting and selection of door gifts to be done in august and guest list to be confirmed by early sept.
4) photoshoot: scheduled to be in early june. still far awayyyyyy to me. will need to meet up with photographer to confirm shooting locations etc.
5) renovation: very much in-my-face nowadays. floor tiles, electrical & copper pipping are done. next week will be painting, laminated wood flooring & installation of toilet accessories. all in good progress, can realistically expect that renovation to be all done by end MAY! yippee!
that should be all, i suppose?

happy post
ah D just commented my last entry is too depressing. hence, this post shall be a happy one!!
Amazing Race
okie, let's talk about the amazing race with my Dow pple on saturday! i've tremendous fun that day! its been eons since i last ran around town (CBD area to be exact) like a mad woman! i'm pretty sure that we ran no less than 5km all in all for that game! kudos to jean for inviting us to this game held by her church!
Fresh & gay (happy lah) before the competition started at Chinatown point
jean & me!
we ran from Chinatown point->Ann Siang Hill -> Amoy Street -> hawker besides OG -> Far East Square -> UOB building -> Capital Square! my legs ache like crazy the next day but im thankful for the exercise that i otherwise wont be getting at all! :) all the sweat and pain aint for nothing, we managed to clinch the 2nd place and got ourselves $100 worth of Marche vouchers! yippee yay!
shhhhh....this is taken in a gir.. *ahem* toilet cubicle
the stanger (guy in blue nearest to statue) was game enough to pose with us for the game!
back at jean's church, awaiting for delicious dinner!
side note: there was this girl who was absolutely bitchy/rude at the church. it made me understand why i diss the people and not the religion. whatever, this is supposed to be a happy post, so let's move on!
My Cubicle
I love my cubicle! its qute bare and super tidy now given that i've nothing much to do now ha. its my little haven nowadays where i spend a considerable amount of time here everyday!
my cubicle is gonna be pink & purple color-themed! waahahha.. i draped my unwanted freebie shawl from herworld mag over my chair and there's ashley V cushion in it! Voila! i've my pretty frivolous looking chair!
haha, can u see dashes of pink & purple here & there?
let's move in for a closer look!
i like my happy dancing pigs wrist rest cushion! and always , and i repeat, always have your trusty hand cream and body moisturiser within reach. :)
i've my fanciful magnets to pin notes and very soon...photos up! in case you are wondering what's that tuft of white fur ball, thats my hp holder!
i fell in love with it at first sight and i bought it right on the spot. its a sheep with either very bad dark eye-rings or eye-bags. lolz~
He (It's a he, that im sure!) never fails to cheer me up!
hence, all in all, as i concluded with jean, my cubicle seems to make me look like a bimbo who cant work. and this facade may not be too far far from the truth! :P

stumbled upon this journal by mistake:http://www.janeyolen.com/journal.html
it's recent entries is about how the author is coping with the death of her husband. it made me teared as i read. the poem below by her is especially moving.
Sorry for Your Loss
I have not misplaced him--
like the wedding ring
he left behind at a ski lodge
six months after we married--
only set him aside
in a small grave
under a tree where robins sing.
They are thrushes, you know,
and their songs pierce,
especially at six in the morning
in the early spring.
I did not lose him,
except the smell of him,
already cleansed by chemicals,
flensed in the fire,
that reduced him to an essence
that can be blown into glass.
But the pillow that cradled
that dear head at the end
has the power to reduce me,
sunder me, render me,
into globules of fat tears.
I did not leave him behind,
but let him go ahead,
the pathfinder, map reader,
finding a shortcut
which always meandered
and led us to brilliant discoveries
like the last manned Scottish lighthouse
on the very last manned day.
I will follow, my love,
maybe not soon,
but soon enough
and you will have already
identified all the birds
and learned their songs,
in your new world,
ready to teach me
all the things I have to know.

shopping spree!
i bought lotsa clothes over the week! it all started on wednesday when i was window shopping at Topshop while waiting for jean to reach suntec to meet frances + gerry for dinner. we WERE supposed to shop for clothes for her but in the end, i've decided to buy a cardigan by the time she arrived!
dear dear and me went to our house on saturday. renovation progress is good! the false ceilings, L-box & electrical works were all done up! laying of air-con pipping & arrival of tiles will be on mon morning! :) took some pictures of our work-in-progress house. will post some pictures up soon!
after that, we went to tiong bahru to catch "Inside Man". The show aint bad but the plot can be tighter i feel. but aww....owen's voice made up for that! :) while debating where to have our dinner after the show, I wandered into Sense....and came out with 2 skirts!
today is my favourite baby one-year old birthday! he's so cute and he can walk by himself! and he kissed me on my cheek today! i just said "kiss me" and he did!
that big head was mine by the way....... he loves the slide alot. but i sweated like a pig carrying him up and down the slide!
went to bishan junction 8 today and yes....i shopped again. managed to grab a nice top from BYSI and 1 more skirt from NESS. my, i sound like im on a mad rampage for clothes. guess i've been repressing myself for too long! its a lucky thing that my progress package is coming in soon... ha.
28 days to go before april ends.....hopefully i can survive. provided i dont shop anymore! :P
