bday celebrations for the may babies

it's dd & ser's bdays this month we had the celebrations with them these 2 weeks.

last sat, dd bday dinner was at cicheti @ kadanhar st. I find the food yummy though not all of them were impressed. somehow the night ended up with us drinking at some watering holes along tanjong pagar and let's just say the night didn't end up sober for some of us. :(

 

I really need to accept that alcohol is my foe and not ally now.

yesterday, ser's bday dinner was at no menu Italian restaurant @ boon tat street.
food was lovely but super pricey so no revisits for us I guess.

the yellow lighting made all of us sleepy by the end of the evening... @_@

 

Next up, tanny's bday and we are thinking of dining in the dark! hope it will materialise..

PTC for YZ

we had PTC for YZ this morning and though the session consisted of a long wait and an extremely short interaction with the teachers themselves, im glad with it.
while academic results are certainly a priority and we have visibility of that most of the time through the work he brought home, I was keen to know better how's his behavior in school.
really glad to hear from both the form & Chinese teachers that they notice a difference in YZ as compared to P1 - a positive one no less - in that he is now more focused in class, he will share knowledge with classmates, checks in with classmates when in doubt and demonstrated that he is responsible and committed over his work. :D

all these traits and values clearly matter more to me and im happy to see that he is settling well in school, taking school in his stride and clearly still enjoying learning.
i hope he can be a positive role model to his younger brother... provided they stop fighting so much back at home. :P

date day with the husband



today both the husband and me took the PM off for a date! been eons since we last did this so it's a good mid-week break!

I actually had the whole day off so I settled the kids in the morning before fetching hubbi from his workplace around noon.

first stop - we headed out to Bugis+ for yummy ramen. read online about ramen champion and thought it's rather cool to have a few ramen shops in the same place for you to choose your meal from! I settled for spicy Sapporo miso ramen while the husband went for the heavier meat broth of black ramen. both were equally yummy and we hope to bring the boys here soon.

 

we caught mad max @ filmgarde and the show was better than my expectations. it was very 80s and bizarre and loud and very very action-packed.

Nicholas hoult & charlize theron's performance were the highlights for me.

definitely deserves its high scoring in IMDB. :)

 

we made our way to haji lane area to spend the late afternoon strolling around this area before settling for a nice dinner @ cicheti (my 2nd time here in this month - I love sharing good stuff with hubbi. :P).

 

and of cos, I bought something - a lovely ade.g bracelet from soon lee.

it caught my fancy like a year ago but never really can bring myself to buy it though the electroplated quartz seem so one of a kind!

with the husband's "blessings", I finally got it. yeah!

packed weekend

this weekend was rather packed and tiring, especially yesterday!

 

on Friday, we had finance teambuilding activity - BBQ @ Ascott service apartments. it was fun interacting with the wider team. a group of us left around 10pm for Newton circus since it's just across the road for more food!

after that, we made our way to an ex-coll place for more drinking and chatting! by the time I left her place slightly before midnight, im totally bushed!

 

and yesterday was equally bad. in the early afternoon, it's Shayne's 1st bday party @ Candice house! I brought the younger boy with me since the elder boy had his enrichment class then. it was fun catching up with the gang and YR has been good and independent while over there.

 

the husband came, picked us up and then dropped me at NEX where I made my way to meet up with ping, suz they all before adjourning to a coll's place for my boss's hen party evening!

it was good old fun spending the evening with the bride-to-be and her friends. :)

after that, I spent some time with ping in town before making my way to suntec for a erious K-session with gb & jt!!

the room at teo heng is ridiculously small but that didn't dampen our spirits. we had so much fun singing all the old (really old, like 20 years ago!) songs. LOL.

 

by the time we left at 2AM, im like dragging my body into gb's car to be sent home...

such long day+night is really challenging now at our age. :P

but all in all, a lovely weekend spending time with peeps!

year-end travel plans - more or less settled

not down to the wire but air tickets settled!
LOL, can we book any earlier for a nov trip! yes we can! since SQ having promo for booking ahead by >180 days, we decided to just do it. *woohoo*
so the ng family has booked the air tickets for our nov trip at very very good prices.
I cant wait to start planning ahead for the detailed itinerary! I love going to new places + a familiar place. HIAKS.

but first thing first, let's focus on our upcoming short trip to BKK in june. I need to get the itinerary out.....

mommy's day!



it's mummy's day today and husband has been the best! he gave me time-off to do my favourite acitivity - SHOPPING and gave me blessings for some purchases. yes, even when im buying stuff with my own moolahs, i sorta need to "inform" him. tsk tsk.

 

and then he brought the boys to meet me in town for a nice dinner of my choice. :D

I chose PS café as I've cravings for their truffle fries for the longest time. a safe choice I admit but comfort food for all of us. yumz!

it's been so long since I shopped at orchard in a leisure pace! such a luxury!

and I bought the necklace that was on my wishlist for sometime! yeah!

and on a whim, I brought a pretty bracelet from another brand. it's really chio so no regrets.

and of cos, how to miss my fav. zara - 1 working pants, 1 top + a costume jewelry necklace and im done. :D

 

it's a bad month to go wild with shopping given BKK trip and GSS is coming up!

but it's mummy day and I think I deserve to be nicer to myself. teehee.

 

the husband is into foldie bike recently and he bought 1 so he can "hang out" with the boys. I really dont know whats up with men and their gadgets and stuff. but I do admit the foldie bike is quite compact and easy to hit the road with it.

over the last weekend, we spent some time cycling/scooting round the neighborhood. I tried the foldie while the boys alternated between their bicycle with training wheels & scooter. the husband was very nice to run alongside with us. :P

 

like a million years since I ride. woke up with achy muscles the next day - no joke!

and I tried online shopping after a long time too. bought a belt, top & dress from sheshops. received the loots in the middle of the week and again, I think brick & mortar shopping is more for me. somehow, online shopping always fall short of my expectations. @_@

 

and it's mother's day this sunday! the boys have been very sweet giving me gifts and handicraft works from school. YZ gave me a card and he bought this bracelet (all of $1 - LOL) from his bookshop for me! YR having attending both church kindy & childcare showered me with 4 cards/handicraft works. im a happy mum.

best gift of all is the husband has granted me lovely me-time on sunday before he will fetch me in late afternoon for a good dinner out. :D

 

I cant wait for that. :P

good start to may!

it's labor day yesterday but as usual, finance team needs to be back in office for closing.
but it was a smooth one so no one is complaining! the team came in at around 10+AM and by 7PM, we were more or less done! hubbi and the boys have been very supportive in dropping me off work and coming back to have dinner with me around marina bay city gallery area - Verve. :)

evening was spent catching on magazines + dramas = totally my kind of lazing!
and this morning I'm done with my brisk walking, im ready to take on the weekend! yeah!
