xmas dinner with the gang & hubbi!

its been a long weekend for me. met up with the gang for early xmas dinner + gift exchange yesterday. it was a blast! simply love spending time with them. *heez*

met up with jx + candice for "the warlords" at marina sq at 4+ 1st. the movie is VERY NICE. pls go catch it if you havent. all 3 male leads acted superdly! esp. takeshi! love the innocence in his eyes. *woohhhh* heh.
the show is really very sad, as claimed by GB.

after which, we made our way to the Zenden hotel @ the Gallery hotel for our xmas set dinner. though the appetiser & dessert is alrighty, the seafood soup+main course (beef tenderloin) is delicious! i was sooo full that i cant finish the dessert (which is so-so by the way, ha). they even have complimentary birthday cake for those whose december is their bday month (which is MOI by the way!).

after dinner, we crossed over to the winehut opposite gallery hotel for our annual gift xchange + some nice wine. drank the sweetest white wine i ever came acrossed in my life & i cant remember its name for nuts now. damn.

it was really nice just chatting with them & being rubbishy as usual. :)
but still, must say that 一年一年过的太快了！our last xmas meet up @ the KTV @ chinatown seems like few months ago! lolz.

today is hubbi+me couple time-out! we made our way to town to catch "national treasure 2". the show aint bad but i distinctly remember 1 to be better. still, its an entertaining enough movie to catch.

after which, we had a simple early dinner @ a restaurant @ cineleisure to avoid the rain. think its a restaurant under Billy Bombers.

the food aint bad. serving billy bombers' style food like burgers, milk shake etc.

after which we went shop shop for my xmas prezzie. yes! lazy ah long never surprise me with any gifts!

anyway, i got him a braun baffel belt + key pouch which i gladly say he likes them very much. :)

as for me, i got him to get me a miss selfridge top in the end. but im sooo sad when he commented the top sorta look tight on me though ITS MY SIZE.

darn. i know i am FAT lah. pui!

but i dont care. you guys just have to be contented with a 58kg wenhui till i decided to launch my exercise plan (which is so not going to happen soon, heh.)!

this week is movie week! *yippee*

went to watch "the golden compass" with the husband on thursday. TM on a public holiday is MAD! packed full with shitload of people! bah!
anyway, golden compass is only so-so. disappointing.
the concept of parallel universes sound intriguing but somehow the movie cant pull it off leh. and i dun like the lead character - the little girl whose name i cant remember. she sorta lack the innocence the role required.
a little too adult for me. sorta scheming even.
i miss the little harry potter! sooo cute!

tonight going to catch "the warloads" with grace, candice + jx before meeting the rest @ gallery hotel for a xmas dinner feast! *yummy*
been so long since i last met up with the gang! definitely looking forward to that!

and tomorrow is couple time with ah long. wormy will be taken care by my MIL while we hit town for some shopping + of cos a show - national treasure 2- !

recap of 2007 (as inspired by ayu)

as usual, will recap 2007 in point forms for my own viewing pleasure. heh.

jan: nothing much. dropped my motorola V3 @ a colleague's wedding and brought myself the very-the-good SEK800i (which im still using now). celebrated ah long's bday in a low-key way (since when not like that?) with lunch @ his parents' house & dinner @ vivo. oh, went to penang & phuket for the 1st time in a 4D3N cruise with ah long & his parents. remember being upset with my skin condition back then. took the least no. of photos ever in a trip. umm, no, think that will be the cruise in may (but that's another story altogether).
feb: celebrated CNY for the 1st time as MRS NG. but nothing special really. CNY celebration @ gramps was still the best. blackjack & all! HUAT! won $$ net net at the end of the day for me lah. heh. the gang popped over to my house and we were LOUD! FUN FUN FUN! oh, & spring cleaning kills by the way.
mar: my pregnancy was confirmed! tested positive twice using home pregnancy kits before ah long + me were sold that im really pregnant. but my world crashed when we were told during our 1st visit at the gynae that the baby cant be seen. after a excruciating 2 weeks of waiting, our 2nd visit finally confirmed wormy's existence. *phwee*
apr: spent most of it having morning sickness. cant tell anyone abt wormy's for im bandang. lolz. nelly left for NYC. cried when sending her off at the airport. had skin problems due to pregnancy - eczema ard my tummy area got really bag and lips become sore & puffy. quite an unhappy time for me. good thing was i got my bonus and rewarded myself a LV wallet. *sweet*
may: worst mth. down with all kinds of illness - asthma, flu, fever, hacking cough. all the time super worried the effect medicine has on baby. didnt enjoy my 3D2N trip to malacca/KL with hubbi AT ALL. was down with asthma ALL the time on board. thought i was dying when we were at KL. and after recovering, received some bad news on routine blood test done during baby's 16th weeks. it was the longest 2 weeks for us when we waited news for the re-test. remember being very depressed and sad back then for if there's really something wrong, it'll be too late for us to do anything abt wormy and the horrible choice of exterminating the pregnancy will have to be made. *sobz* i really dread the time when i think back. our jazzy finally arrived on 18th may by the way.
jun: good mth. perhaps the best mth. received good news abt blood re-test results. big load off my chest. morning sickness is history. and best mobility for the whole pregnancy. weekends were fluff+fun going out with ah long catching movies, having nice dinners & all. *wee*
july: more or less like jun. just that im getting heavier and mobility not as good. start of my 3rd trimester. getting busy for budget period back at work. oh, i got myself the orange CD bag.
aug: getting tired more easily. very busy at work. hated boss + some colleagues. went on a mad make-up shopping spree. but really, nothing much for me to spend on.
sept: getting very tired by now. remember hating to be pregnant and cant wait for due date to arrive soon. 1 year wedding anniversary for us! spent a nice quiet weekend at pan pac for the occasion. :)
oct: crawled to work for almost the whole month. commuting sucks the energy out of me. the waiting game begins. got pregnancy0-induced rash all over hands. very depressing. got myself 2 new bags - a coach & a LV. yup, im a spendthrift but i so deserve them. *stares hard*
WORMY ARRIVED on 26th OCT finally, weighing a healthy 3.515kg! :)
nov: confinement sucks. and i was on the brink of post-natal depression like at least 5 times during the mth. not sure how to take care of a newborn. he fell sick and was admitted to hospital for 3 nights. beastfeeding really take the toll on me. told myself fiercely that i must dish out sound advice on breastfeeding to my friends next time. its not a easy task. i plunged into it doing too little research and paid by becoming depressed + resentful. bah!
dec: still feeling lost at times over how to take care of wormy but trying to learn + cope day by day. looking forward to this weekend where i will be having xmas dinner with the gang + ah long. some time off parenting is welcoming at times, really. question: what should ah long get for me for my bday? hmm.
oh, my weight is still so undesireable still @ 58kg. damn.

okie, that sums up my emo roller coaster 2007. hope 2008 will be a smooth + peaceful one. really, 我已无所求。:)

retail therapy = shiok!

just came back from a short-lived mad shopping spree in town! *wee*
and i can only conclude retail therapy is really good!
and so i became the santa once again come this time of the year. of cos, playing the biggest santa to myself, no doubt. :P

things i bought during a short duration of 2 hours+ at scotts isetan alone:
1) a belt for daddy - a goldlion one to be exact... his one and only existing one is really pathetic..
2) a mickey mouse 2008 calendar for the brother - yesh, my bro is a mickey mouse fanatic!
3) xmas prezzie for mad D - yuppie, doing the annual gifte xchange with the gang this sat and im supposed to buy prezzie for him.
hope he likes them! yup, i bought giftS for him. actually they are just chocolates, peanuts & bodyshop body lotion (the most cliche xmas prezzie choice of all) as predicted by him. hiaks.
4) xmas prezzie for the husband! i doubt he've bought any gifts for me yet. he needs immense prompting every year. ha.
anyway, i think he 'll like what i got for him. cant disclose here for he does read this blog (but think nowadays he sooooo sleep-deprived he dun do that as often..)
5) origins moisturiser + mask for moi-self. my supply running low lah.
6) new shoes from itti+otto (like again!). i love shoes! *wee*
7) a toy set for wormy! though he can only really play it at 3M+. but whatever! in the spirit of giving!

lalalala. im a happy woman.

kudos to the most 伟大woman of the world! my MOMMY for taking care of wormy ALONE (she is so capable of doing that!) while i did the above shopping.
so why no pressie for the mommy? for greedy her wants an ANG BAO instead.
ha. and so that she'll get soon.

the weight falls & falls &

then it got stuck.

bah!

pre-pregnancy: 53kg. pregnancy: 71.5kg (yap, no kidding. last weighed on the morning of delivery day itself).
so i gained a good 18.5kg for the whole pregnancy.
the biggest loss comes straight after the delivery itself of cos.
with wormy, the placenta & some water out of me during the very process.
i remember weighing around 62kg during my first post-natal check up (ard 1 week after delivery).

and then i got busy with taking care of wormy and didnt take much notice of my weight though i did weigh myself on-off using a not so reliable scale. think by 1st mth, my weight was ard 59-60kg. when i moved back to redhill 2 weeks ago, i feel i got thinner for taking care of baby alone more often surely taken some toil on me?
so finally, hubbi and i got a digital scale on sunday and the weight of me now officially stands at 58kg!

darn. the weight loss rate really slows down alot for the last few kg huh?
currently, i still cant wear my watch on my right wrist.
i still cant wear my wedding band my left ring finger.
i still cant wear most of my fitting tops + bottoms from last time.

:( wish me luck for the remaining 5kgs! when my appetite remains more or less the same as pregnancy period at times!

wormy is entering an extremely fussy period!
he will cry n cry n cry from midnight onwards till 3+ before falling asleep.
so this meant only 4 hours or less sleep for me during the night!
lucky i can catch up on sleep during the day when he naps. but not for poor hubbi.

hope things will look up soon. on a more positive note, its easier to let go and get others to help take care of wormy for short periods while hubbi and i go out to run errands or just have some nice couple time.
its been so long since we've some quality time together.
as we were doing up the laundry in the kitchen (while little wormy is fast asleep of cos), we lamented how we miss "us" time.
hmm. so its a good thing that my mother-in-law offered to take care of wormy on xmas day so we can go dating? :)
hee, so sweet of her hor.

today is to my grandma place to let wormy visit his great-grandma! heez.
for the 1 hour plus we were there, he's fast asleep. heh.

the second month is toO!
the little devil is now soundly asleep but when he's awake, 我有的忙了！：）
little wormy is extremely insecure and demanded to be held every now and then.
not sure if this is the case for most babies or the hospital ordeal has made him so.
whatever the case, im trying my best to sooth him and let him gain confidence in his caretakers, which include me! :)


waiting for him to turn 3 months old so he can start playing with me. heez.
but by then, i ll be back at work. how annoying!

i love wormy to bits but sometimes im really puzzled by his crying.
what exactly does he want!
and sometimes, i just want to get away from all the taking care business and have some me-time again.

wormy's first day out!

okie, technically wormy has get out and about more than once. those visits to PD, shuffle between houses for my confinement period etc. but today is wormy FIRST day out to town. what a pity that he cant really see the xmas decor for what they are. this year's one is simply fantastic - purple & silver - my fav!

anyway, hubbi & i wanted to get some thermal flasks for the house & when we are out on the road. as isetan is having a TIGER sale now, we decided to go n take a look. so how to go out with a time-bomb (one who will wail anytime anywhere anyhow)? we satisfied all his needs in advance! heh. so we bathe wormy, clothed him in nice clothings, feed him till full full then rock him to dreamland before leaving the house. :)

its also wormy's 1st time sitting in his baby car seat. apparantly, he hated it initially. guess lying in my arms is so much more comfortable than the seat. heez. see how his tiny face scrunged up.

how can someone so young look so old? lolz. hubbi & i like to laugh at him when he makes this face. like a tiny frog with the eyelids popping out!

but before long, the rocking of the travelling car started to sooth him & he fell back to deep slumber again.

frown due to my flash. i know, im a bad mum. :P

all set to go shop shop!

so far, the mini trip has only 2 minor hiccups when wormy decided to wail when we doing the shopping. luckily, he was quickly soothed before putting back to the pram. and when we shift him from the pram to the car seat at the end of the trip, i realised his urine has somehow leaked to part of his back!! so poor wormy has to be partly drenched in his own pee on the way back.

in all, our little mini trip only lasted all of an hour plus. lolz. we were scared that the air-con outside is too cold for him and he'll fall sick again.

oh well, wormy, we'll go out more often when you get bigger and stronger, ya?

poor little wormy... fell sick last week (long post ahead)

it all started on last tuesday night when i was breastfeeding wormy. suddenly i felt that he feels hot to my touch, esp the part where the nape of his neck resting on the inside of my elbow.
using the pigeon themometer we bought last time, i proceeded to measure baby's temperature. *anyway, i hate pigeon themometer! it takes like FOREVER to measure the temperature! not helping at all! bah!*

imagine my horror when the reading said 37.67 degree celcius! still, the instructions behind the pigeon box states that a fever exists only if temperature hits above 37.8. so, a flustered me went to look for hubbi for advise. he's sleeping in another room for he's recovering from a flu+fever (yesh, he's most likely to be the main culprit for passing the virus to wormy!! grr...!). as usual, nonchalent him stated there is no basis for alarm for it didnt exceed the stated temperature of 37.8 & my MIL (mother-in-law) assured me that baby's body temperature is naturally higher than that of adults. ignorant me went with their comments as i didnt want to be a drama queen and rush wormy to the clinic late at night. what a mistake. :( i should have trusted my mummy's instinct. :( no way am i gonna let people dissuade me from what i think best for my baby next time. :(

ANYWAY, come next day and i didnt follow up much as baby seems to be his usual self. fussy for milk and all. but that evening when i was holding wormy, i distinctly felt that he was really hot and so i measured his temperature again even though the rest kept on assuring me that he cant be having fever.. and horrors of all horrors, the reading said 38.2 this time!!
hubbi and i quickly brought him to a GP for consultation which the GP prescribed some fever medicine and advised that if the fever didnt subsided by night, we should bring him to hospital for further check up given that he's still under 1 mth.

so we gave the 1st dose at 6pm and the fever seemed to go down ard 10+ but comes midnight for the second dose, the fever went up again. so we waited no more and rushed wormy to thomson medical for further check up. everything happened in a blur from then on. we were told that he has to be admitted based on the advice of my PD (who's rushing down to the hospital then to check on wormy). and worse, there's no wards available except for 4 bedded room for baby. PD came and checked on wormy and said there's no conclusive diagnosis and that they've to take blood & urine tests of wormy to see what's the cause of the fever.

and they took him to a room and asked us to wait outside while they take the blood sample. i was so upset when i started hearing wormy's screaming in the room and the whole thing continued for a good ten minutes. by the time i was allowed into the room, wormy had gone all quiet and had a daze look. i was so sad seeing him like this. :( apparantly, they had drew the blood amount they required from his feet and taped this plastic thingy round his privates to collect his next urine. i was instructed to check every hour urine output and call for nurse when that happen. and they actually had wormy hand on driP!! for antibiotics purpose. sobz, im so sad he had to go through this at so young an age! and dripping antibiotics hurt like hell!!
then hubbi & my in-laws left as only 1 parent is allowed to stay and there;s no point in hubbi staying for he's down with illness too. :(

so, imagine my lonliness in the 4 bedded ward, cold and with my sick wormy who was lerthagic from all the pain & medication. :( luckily we changed to a 2 bedded ward the very next day which is the same as a single since the other bed is not occupied.

wormy actually stayed 2 more nights (thursday + friday) as the fever comes n go and we need to monitor it. luckily, the blood + urine tests came back okie & PD concluded he just got throat infection which leads to the fever. so poor little wormy has to consume cold, cough + fever oral medicine, nasal drops 3 times a day + put on antibiotics drip once a day for the whole hospitalisation duration.

the whole time, i was totally tired out, esp at night. he was irritable and refused to sleep and i've to feed him at approx. every 2 hours interval & change his nappies for him etc. i thought i was going to fall sick as well! and the darn hospital is so godamn cold!

on fri, his fever seemed to subside so PD said to stop his fever medicine to see if the fever comes back so we gave the last dose of medicine at 4pm. and he was well untill midnight when the fever shoots to 37.7 again. :( so he gave him one more dose at 1am. sat morn comes and PD checked and informed that he seems okie (no fever) and we just got to continue with the cold+cough medicine will do. so i requested for discharge even though PD advised one more night for observation. but i thought the cold air-con was actually making it worse for wormy so i stuck to my decision.

when back home, i was like on tenterhooks! i took wormy's temperature like every 2 hours intervals to check if the fever is coming back. alas, the fever came back on sat evening ard 7pm (18 hours after his last fever medication dose). i panicked and immediately administered fever medication to him as per PD's advice. and inwardly, i started to regret my decision to discharge so fast. :(

but there's nothing i can do but continue to monoitor. LUCKILY, till the next check up at the PD's clinic yest morn (mon), wormy's fever didnt come back and PD gave him the clearance too. :)))

the whole episode has been a terrible ordeal for me. now i hope for nothing but the best for his well-being.

anyway, we are now back in redhill but we wont be receiving guests so soon given wormy's just recovered state. hope you guys understand!

okie, got to go catch up on some rest before he wakey up for his next feed!

fancy that coming from a 2 1/2 years old little boy! and taught by NO ONE!
im truly amazed.
wonder if wormy will be as smart as his 堂哥 the next time? heh

umbilical cord can be...

traumatising for parents, really.

the baby book states that most cords will fall off by themselves between 6-10 days. some websites stated it can take as long as 3 weeks. parents said within a week.

not sure which to believe in and can only wait patiently/anxiously for it to fall off. but wormy is not helping by peeing on himselF when we changed his diapers for him. on the cord somemore!

then the cord began oozing a little pus/blood and emitted a weird foul smell which the paediatrician (PD) assured is perfectly normal.

and FINALLY, it fell off and got stuck in wormy's top after his bath yesterday. it took all of FOURTEEN days for it to come off. hmm, and so ended the worrying ordeal.

my MIL insisted i kept the cord and though not keen, its now safely stored in a red packet waiting to be tossed out by me dont-know-when. :P

terrible 1st night back home!

1st night back at mum's place was terrible! the day passed by relatively unchaotic with wormy waking up for feeds (still formula feed at intervals of 3-4 hours as specified by the nurses).

but the nightmare really began at night when wormy refused to sleep THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT. nothing we do can sooth him back to sleep. we carried him and rocked him and just when we thought he's asleep and try to put him to his cot to sleep, he started wailing again! my mum, hubbi & me took turns to carry him but it was really very tiring and stressful. both of them wanted me to rest and refuse to let me carry him but i just cant bring myself to sleep when he bawling away in the living room. :(

finally at 4+, after his feed, he manged to quiet down BUT NOT ready to be settled in his cot. so poor hubbi carried him in his arms from then till 6+ in the morning when wormy is finally tired out by his own nonsense and was so fast asleep back in his own cot that no noise can rouse his from his deep sleep! *sigh*

anyway, we finally know the reason for the crying. he was simply HUNGRY but we never thought of feeding him as we were sticking to the formula feed of 3-4 hours so rigidly that we forgot that we were supposed to feed baby on demand. arg! so now, whenever he cried, 90% of the time is cos he's hungry and he's easily soothed and remains contented after a good feed.

well, we all learn through the hard ways at times, no?

to end the post with a swaddled up wormy. hubbi & i found it funny when he's all swaddled up like this. but not recommended for long in stuff spore weather:

REAL!

i was having the blues like on the 2nd day at my mum's place. :(
why? stemmed from the following:
1) total loss when wormy started crying for no apparant reason (now we know why but let's talk about this next time)
2) over-zealous parents with no parenting experience. im talking about my dad here. he has no experience with babies yet his concern for wormy is driving me MAD! whenever wormy cries, he'll keep on asking me why wHY WHY?! im a new parent myself and admist the wailing, im trying to establish the reason behind it and he's really not helping with his incessant asking. he's making me feel bad with being a lousy mum.
3) wormy has jaundice. though most babies have it, its really sad to see that in your own baby. and being a year-end baby, wormy lacked the good fortune to have sunny sun. and this is not helping with the jaundice. he needs sunlight to flush it out of his body! *sobz*

lucky ah long was around for the first week to help me out with every other stuff. and THEN, i started getting the blues when i recalled that he's going back to work from the 2nd week onwards. :(

anyway the 1st week was really terrible and i found myself in tears sometimes for no apparant reasons (or for all the reasons in the world). *sigh* lucky now progressing into the 3rd week, im getting the support im needing and getting the hang of things (albeit slowly), the blues are slowly dissipating.

now, im just living day by day and hope that i will be a better mum as time passes and wormy will grow up healthily! :)

the first few days

so i ended up spending 3 nights at thomson before discharging on 29th oct. time passed in a flash esp. on the 27th when our friends popped by to give their well wishes. really appreciate that! think i received the most chicken essence/bird nest/DOM any person will get in their lives. lol.

dun know when can finish them all. its like 1 dozen plus of these in all! madness, if you ask me. i ALWAYS thought people will buy baby clothes etc for us but obviously i thought wrong. convenience is still the preference for most. lol.

on the 28th, we began a crash course to learn to take care of bee bee wormy. as my milk has not yet started, we have to feed him on formula milk first but the nurse specified that i should breast-fed wormy to stimulate the flow and let him familiarise with that etc. we learn to change diapers, bath etc (like watch only) and everything really look very intimidating and overwhelming! im getting worried that we cant cope when we got discharged. now i fully understand the importance of having our parents around to help out.

still, it was really fun to bring wormy out of the nursery to our room to play with him and carry him around (though most of the time, he just sleeps). so now, the challenge really begins when we discharged from the hospital!!

the actual delivery - 26th oct 2007

bee bee wormy was delivered in Thomson Medical Hospital on 26th Oct 2007! :)
warning: long post ahead
as mentioned in earlier post, i was having severe rash that comes from nowhere! esp, on both hands n upper trunk of the body. they itch so terribly that i cant sleep at night and kept having to wake hubbi up in my irritation.

according to the gynae, its pregnancy induced and mainly cos of hormones imbalance. should i be glad that its not PUPP (for those not familiar, PUPP is a skin condition that plaugue some mothers during the last trimester) and that i suffered only 2 days of it before the delivery clear it up?

anyway, took urgent leave on 26th oct, fri, for my routine check up and partly no mood to go to work with the irritating rash. hubbi was late for the check up as he had to rush from work. the clinic was relatively empty so i decided to go on my own 1st, thinking its the usual amniotic level & dilation check.

imagine my shock when gynae informed that im 1cm dilated and water level was on the borderline low and he suggested that we go induce the very day! hubbi arrived soon and we began discussing. we made the decision to go along with doctor's advice since i'm already 38 weeks + and baby considered full term. hence, soon we were on our way to hospital!

my labour started at 3pm officially when the nurse put me on drip to induce the delivery. ooh, how i hate that! i never done drip before and its really a BAD experience having something inserted in your vein. eeks. watching the tiny bubbles within te drip tube , i kept on imagining the worst that one of them gonna reach my heart and kill me instantly. arg! i seriously HATE drips!

anyway the contractions started coming regularly + frequently. im not sure if im taking the epidural so i was monitoring to see if i can take the pain. so from 3-6pm, i was bearing the pain and thought myself doing great since the pain is really kinda bad but not enough for me to choose pain relief yet. but when my gynae came in ard 6+ to check my dilation, the pain was quite bad when the contractions peaked. feels like my back is breaking into two! really, contractions pain is more at the back than anywhere else!

so imagine my horror when he said im only 3cm dilated!! another 7cm to go, and thats when i know epidural is the way to go. i didnt even opted for laughing gas or other pain relief injection but just asking the nurse for epidural IMMEDIATELY. and it was then i was informed that it required 30 mins for the anesthetian to arrive to administer the shot. i almost cringed on the spot for the contractions were coming in fast and furious at 2-3 minutes intervals. *sobz*

after the shot, everything is really a breeze. its just a waiting game after that for the cervix to dilate to the required 10cm before pushing can be done.

the pushing started ard 10+ but it was a long labourious one. according to my gynae most were over in 10-15 mins but mine took nearly an hour! no thanks to my stuffy nose. never, never deliver when you are sick (but not like you can choose anyway). i had blocked nose and cough, unlucky me. so i was gasping for air for the pushing and not progressing as fast as i should be. *sigh* still, when bee bee finally came out, i was so overwhelmed with relief and i dont-know-what-feelings that my tears just free-falled when they placed him on my chest, wailing away. :)




bee bee wormy just delivered! see the rashes on my chest. bleah.

after that its a blur. bee bee was taken away to be measured his weight+length. while my gynae continued to do his stuff: 1) take cord blood for collection 2) deliver my placenta (not a pretty sight 3) stitched me up etc.

then bee bee is given back to me and we were wheeled back to my suite to rest for the night. bee bee was taken to the nursery to be cleaned up and feed while the nurse set up a temporary bed for hubbi to bunk with me for the night. and the first thought i had after all the ordeal was : IM FAMISHED! i have no food at all since my breakfast in the morning so imagine my gratitude when they delivered tuna sandwich + milo shortly after. *yummy*

hmm.. that kinda sums up my delivery day & bee bee wormy's birth date - 26th oct.

hullo everyone! im still around!! now still in my confinement and trying my very best to adjust to motherhood. nobody told me you'll get even more tired during your confinement. :(

oh well, may i cope better with time.

just when you thought things couldm't get any worse,

it DID.

on my road to recovery from a terrible hacking cough + flu, my body started developing rash!
itchy itchy rash!
and my eczema flared up again. so in this last lap of the last lap, the hormones raged out of balance again and create havoc on my skin.
*sigh*
i can only wait for all this to end soon with bee bee's arrival.
but he is still playing the waiting game! bah!

still, i must stay positive and convince myself that im still blessed. really. :)

insomnia at night makes it so much harder to wake up in the mornings.

now IS really a BAD time to fall sick.
so i spoilt myself this working week.
cab to work for 5 mornings continuously.
i deserve it. :P

now the question is, should such rubbish continue next week?

foodie feasts!

the husband has been bringing me to enjoy yummy feasts for the past 2 days. sometimes, i wonder if it's a blessings to have a husband who loves to spend on food.
but isnt it better if he prefer buying me clothes/bags? lolz.

anyway, thursday we went hawker for dinner. nothing special, but ah long suddenly decided to order zi char food! so with 2 tummies, we managed to wolf down furong egg, cearal prawns + sweet/sour fish slices! nice.


yesterday, we went great world city to walk walk after work. and the husband has cravings for beef so we ended up at Jack's Place! believe it or not, this is my 1st time there! lolz. how suaku.
anyway, the food there is delicious and the ambience reeks of family warmth, ha.

hubbi's main course is the standard beef tenderloin while mine is the grilled boneless chicken. i much prefer his if you ask me, but the chicken aint bad too. his medium beef is so tender and seems to melt in my mouth! *swoon*

and of cos there's the desserts - just a normal banana split. i was really full to the almost puking point by then. lolz.


all in all, a nice dining experience @ the Jack's Place. i hope to revisit there sooN!

on a side note, we went ikea last week for some frivolous home shopping and we got ourselves a new pot, potted plant & mat. now our door doesnt look so boring. heh.

bleah weather.

the weather is ATROCIOUS! how can anyone NOT be in an air-conditioned room in the afternoon nowadays?! is it really october now? it feels like freaking july!
i hate my saturday noon. HOT HOT HOT!
even now resting in our master room, with blasting cold air-con on, is not enough to calm me now.
still pissed with the weather.
my bath in the morning resulted to nothing as im now sticky again. ARG!

the husband has been very nice to bring me on foodie sprees for the past 2 days. maybe when im less angtsy with the weather, i'll blog about it. now? nappy time!

candice bday dinner @ cali pizza kitchen

sunday evening was spent with the gang @ california pizza kitchen for candice bday. with the absence of ser, the whole group was there! thats a good turn out if you ask me.
they refuse to order peking duck pizza, i was devastated. :( but no choice, i was strongly out-voted (which is unfair for those who likes peking duck - grace & jx - were late & weren't ard for the voting!)!

still, the food is delicious! esp, the salad (some thai chicken thingy). and that's when i know (for the 1st time) that ah D apparantly has some allergy to peas. yes, peas like those green nuggets stuff! apparantly he will faint or something if he consume those.
really, my 1st reaction was ,"huh?!". but that seems rude so we dropped the subject. :P

anyway, after dinner dessert was at NYDC! i can never get enough of their boo-boo cakes! *yummy*
all in all, a fun night out!

and as usual, everyone loves to touch a tummy.



and, my nose has definitely reached a new height of roundness! *help*

my very very nice colleague has helped some of us purchase the bags when he visited the states with his wife last week.

all the more better, he got our bags from outside NYC (@ boston/washington etc) which has a lower VAT rate of 5% (as compared to NYC 8.375%)! *sweet*

one year anniversary (the real thing)

FINALLY, its 25th sept 2007 = ah long+me married for a year! though we've nothing really fanciful lined up for the occasion, im really glad for the day.
any reason to take leave is good! lolz.
it feels good to wake up on a tuesday morning without the need to go to work! :)

ah long+ me woke up and have a light breakfast for we want to leave room for our lunchie! we've make reservations at Lawry's @ the paragon! :)

cant resist taking a 恐怖大头照of myself. ha. realise i got 斗鸡眼，closed up. ha.

reached lawry's in good time and we made our orders soon.

ah long and his main course - chef cut beef. a little too raw, if you ask me.

our yummy desserts! i like the chrysanthemum cream brulee!

overall, i found the lunch quite okie, though ah long thought the quality could be better. i guess i can agree with him.

after that, we made our way to The Cathay to catch a show - Azur et Asmar. ha, im sure none of you has heard of this film. its screening at the picturehouse at The Cathay only. its an animated film fest show by the way. we were planning to buy the tickets using UOB card for that entitled us to 12% discount off the ticket prices. but imagine our surprise, when the ticketing officer told us that there is a one-for-one promotion today for the show. so that means $6.50 for 2 tickets. lolz.

anyway, the show was surprisingly good. with some inspirational messages on "respect, tolerance, prejudice and open-mindedness". can check out its review here:

which is a ghost town by the way. there's really nothing much to shop around here. and its so sad to see so many rental spaces still NOT yet occupied. the place gonna be forgotten soon, if you ask me.

after the show, im tired out as usual. so hubbi drove us home and im now resting at home. still not sure where to go for dinner later. meantime, getting grouchy for wednesday (working day) is approaching sooN! bleh.

MJ+cookie day!

, maits MJ day for me again on sunday! been craving for a good MJ session but its really hard to get 4 young working adults to have a good session really. likewise, sunday's one was a really short one, lasting all of a 5 hours only. still, good enough for me.

lady luck not with me this time round though. irritating zm is the big winner, with all of us losing $ to him! bah!

ah long came to fetch me at 6+ and since we were in the east side (which is quite rare), we decided to explore east coast road where good food is rumored to reside. truly, there are a good selection of eatery outlets there from yong tau foo to jap restaurant etc.

so in the end, i gave in to my craving of the moment -- LAKSA! katong laksa no less! lolz.

the laksa is good!! yummy! think i'll go back for more in the future if possible.

monday = no work for me for i took leave. *yippee*
while hubbi is away at work, i busied myself making cookies. yup, choco chip cookies! its been awhile since i last baked these, i almost forget what to do. and its really tough to do all the mixing & preparations alone. very tiring!

but i know the husband like to eat these, so strive on i did. after a gruelling 2 hours+, i finally managed to cook 2 batches (which is around 30+ cookies). and tiring myself out totally in the process.

went raffles city to meet ah long for dinner after his work. both of us feeling decidedly happy cos no work for us on tuesday! its our 1 year anniversary! time flies, cant believe its one year already! seems like yesterday when we had one of our most tiring day in our lives. :)

1 year anniversary - Part 3 (or perhaps not)

falala! weekend is here again!
before we know it, its time to see bee bee again! really very glad to know that he's growing well. :) hubbi & me had mac brekkie, something which we havent done for a long time.
after which, we made our way to town to attend a seminar (WITHOUT JAZZY!). it feels strange to take public transport on a saturday but oh well, the seminar started from 12+ & jazzy can only see the light from 3pm onwards.


ah long & me @ the seminar. i dun know why he likes to close his eyes ever-so-often nowadays?

after that, we went vivo walk walk so i can collect my stash from make-up store!

if only they are all MINE! lol, just kidding. Today is members' day where we get 20% off all products. so, my colleagues and friends have all visited the branch at vivo city during the week to reserve their pieces under my name.
of course, i bought some as well (how can i resist!). got myself a new eye pencil + blusher. cant wait to try them on tomorrow. heez.

we were supposed to be celebrating our 1 year- anniversary today. but im feeling so tired from all the activities above that im now home sweet home, resting.

anyway rented 2 DVDs - Ocean 13 & zodiac. tonight shall be DVD night! yippee. soon, we will be making our way out for dinner as well as grocery-shopping for monday when im supposed to whip up something for him. lolz. i guess this counts towards some celebration done, no?

i usually dont blog about unhappy thing but im feeling freaking frustrated now.
this is supposed to be a good week for me for boss from hell is away for almost the whole week! but NO! not around doesnt mean shit at work stops!

to 长话短说, i think im being stretched too thin in my current job! my portfolio seems to be more when compared to fellow colleagues.

so being lazy me, i cope by doing everything half-heartedly. just doing enough to get by. hence, earning no satisfaction whatsoever from what im doing. this sucks, really.

oh well, my plan is just to last till the next bonus. and april'08 is not really that far bah. too bad if they think my work is shit standard and my attitude less than desired. im just trying to protect myself from doing unnecessary/non-value adding work.

ciaoz. feeling much better after lamenting above. shall try to enjoy the rest of week from now on!
