yz 2yo bday celebration part 2!

the day belonged to the little jellybean! for its his birthday weekend.
though i dont think he can grasp the concept of it being his day yet.
he must be wondering what's up with all the fun activities and junk food for these few days.
hehe.

we left our hotel in the late morning to fetch him from my mum's place.
lil' bean was really excited to see us and all ready to bade farewell to my mum after we dressed him up. little ingrate. :P

we left for downtown east (which is a boring choice for a toddler at least) and yz promptly fell asleep in the car on our way there.
ha, its his nap time after all.
but good lah, dear dear and me can enjoyed our lunch in peace while he slept.
lunch was @ the chicken rice shop where the chef used to work for chatterbox.
i found the food nice but not exceptional. :P

yz woke up in 1.5hr time and we had on hand a grouchy baby with very hot weather.
not to mention nothing much there for us to do. @_@
and so, we decided to be nice and treat him ice-cream @ his fav. mcdonalds!

we left shortly for terminal 3! its been eons since our last visit there with him!
and this time round, he enjoyed it much more than his last visit.
he ran like a wind around the spacious place, watched aeroplanes from the viewing mall, had a go @ the small kiddy playground there and window-shopped (dun play play) even!

we went back to the hotel to rest awhile before venturing out for dinner again.
yz was very excited in the new environment and kept on walking around in the room to explore.

he loves the slippers and wear them all the time when in the hotel room!

we left to explore changi village for dinner at evening time and there was a flea market going on since it's saturday.

nothing fantastic but the crowd makes the place a more lively one, no doubt.

got the husband to share porridge with yz while i feasted on the famous nasi lemak set.

yum yum! the otah is really good, albeit very very spicy. :P

and then its back to the hotel as yz seems really tired after the long day out and getting cranky too.

the 3 of us ended watching LOTR 2 on channel 5. haha.

and yz was at 1 point disturbed by the orcs and the 1st appearance of ent. LORL.

he pointed at the ent and said, "this is notti uncle." and i was trying to tell him that the ent is actually a good person.

and after watching few more scences, he concluded, "这个uncle不好的."

hahhahah. but he continued watching till he dozed off at 845pm. :)

very funny to see him watch the show intensely (as if he understood?!) and then nodding off finally.

hubbi and me (again) feasted on more junk food while catching the tube.

what unhealthy lifestyle. bleh.
with that, we called it a day and it was more tiring than yesterday for me!

3 years anniversary - part 3

my long-awaited weekend is finally here! for the ng family is going away for a short 3D2N staycation in the far east of singapore. hehe.
hubbi and me took half-day leave on friday to kick-start the short getaway. :)
yz was away at my mum's place for the night. yes, dear dear and me will enjoy 1 day/night without the lil' terror first. hiaks.

the husband came to my work area to look for me for lunch. we had a simple one @ blue jazz at bali lane.



then, its *whizz* to changi village hotel for our check-in!
we got quite a good 1-for-1 weekend escapede deal for this stay. but the place is really really very far to me leh.
the only good thing is it really feels like we are overseas cos ive never been so far east in my life before here!

our nice little room. wah, the weight just keep piling on hor?

we lazed in our room watching telly until late afternoon, then we left for a ktv session @ katong shopping centre!

we (or rather i) enjoyed the session very muchie! its been so long since i sang my guts out. hehe.

after which, it was already quite late in the evening.
we went back to changi village area looking for a late dinner spot.
and we found it @ jacob's cafe!
quite a quaint little joint which provides decent food and nice ambience too. :)

was considering catching a late night movie but was really really beat by then.

so we went back to the hotel and spent the nice watching rubbish shows on AXN and star world and munching on rubbish snacks.

heh, shiok!

and with that, we ended the day!

we've been to pan pacific, rasa sentosa and changi village for the past 3 years.
so, local hotel stay for our 4th anniversary next year again?

yz 2yo bday celebration part 1!

we've programmes line up for yz for his actual birthday - 26.10.09.
hence, cake-cutting was arranged to be 1week earlier @ the in-laws house today.
yz got 2 lovely presents from his 2 cousins and an ang bao from his grandparents. :)

back to the pool....

after a hiatus of nearly *gasp* 1 year!
we are indeed lousy parents.

decided to bring yz to swim this morning and really glad we did so.
he warmed up to the water fast and was shouting with glee for the 30mins or so we were in the pool.
he can still fit into the mushroom float but it certainly cant take his weight anymore (up to 10kg only).
i have to keep on supporting the float to keep it from toppling.
time to get a new float!

lets hope he will enjoy himself the same come next saturday when we bring him for another swim! :)

evening was spent making a wasted trip to the library (yes, we didnt know it was closed on public holiday. ..) and then to tiong bahru for dinner.

a peek into yz's childcare - part 3

it pays to play the shape sorter at home with the lil' one.
his teacher was commenting he knows the basic shapes like circle, triangle and square when they were playing with shapes handicraft at school. :)

this morning he surprised me by saying "semi-circle" and "oval" when putting them through the shape sorter.
daddy has done a good job teaching him!

been trying to let yz sleeps alone in his own room since last weekend.
the plan is to sleep with him and once he is asleep, me will spend time with the husband before sleeping back in our own room.

so far so good.
EXCEPT that he will wake up at ard 6am and run to our room!
i wonder why the earlier timing in waking up.
think previously, he will start to stir around the same time but will go back to dreamland upon seeing me beside him.
now, he simply wake himself up upon seeing my absence.

hmm.. really hope this phase will pass soon and he will settle back into his sleep routine of waking up at 7+am.
if not, panda eyes for me! :(

yesterday was a fun-filled day for moi!
rise and shine at 7am, no thanks to yz. :
after washing up, we slowly made our way to tiong bahru market for some yummy brekkie.
came back soon after to prepare for the day.
as pappy and mammy had some programme for the day to ourselves, yz has to be "ta-baoed" to my mum's place. hiaks.
after bathing him and home-cooked lunchie for him, we sent him to ubi!

the son reached my mum place ard 1pm, in time for his nap, while hubbi and i left for our date!

been eons since i last catch a movie on the big screen, the last one being UP.
caught (500) days of summer with hubbi yesterday and it was a fantastic choice.
really like the plot and the way its being directed.
the male lead, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, is super duper cute with his crinkly smiley eyes. :)
the show really capture the vicissitudes of a relationship and love.
food for thought, hmm...

after the show was a mad rush for me!
went to collect a cake for the hen party thereafter (yes, its candice's hen night yesterday!!), before hubbi dropped me off at hotel intercon for the evening/night.

the hen party kicked off at 6+pm when we had sushi tei take-away at the hotel room itself for dinner.
the theme was supposed to be shocking colors but as i've limited wardrobe choices now, can only make-do with my purple leggings. heh.

the gang turned out at full strength for the event and the night was a blast!
we had sooooo much fun doing silly things and taking even sillier photos!
all the photos are in gb's camera and we decided that they wont and SHOULD not be uploaded to fb. :P

yesterday brought back memories of my own hen party! heheh.
i remember candice getting knocked out and fast asleep back in the hotel room before 12midnight then while the rest of us continued to tear zouk down.
she definitely fared better yesterday despite being the hen and having to down so many alcohol. :)
and she was very very sporty! we made her took all kinda of silly photos with the props available and she was game for all these.

as usual, indian poker gets the trick done and most of them were suitably high before midnight.
all ready for the clubbing night out after that!
being preggers, i didnt touch a single drop of alcohol. hence for forfeits, ive to pose for really mad photos. gosh. i hope they will never see the daylight ever.

jx the red tomato (yes, thats what a cup half filled of volka will do to you if you seldom consume alcohol normally), zm who has to be a brother for a friend's wedding this morning and meself (the one who cant stay up late without concussing) left the party ard midnight while the rest of them adjourned to butter factory for more mad antics.

how i wish i can join them!
oh well, the sacrifices ive to make for my babies. sigh.
we were all lamenting how much i miss going clubbing with them yesterday.
and we made an agreement to celebrate our big 3-O year (yes, 2011) by hitting the clubs for everyone's bday mth!
LOL that will be jan, feb, may, jun, sept, nov, dec, thank you very much.
let's see if that really happens.

its really fun walking round yz's classroom when i fetched him after work.

so glad to meet up with the hall mates yesterday for fiona's bday dinner.
venue is at district 10, a restaurant set up in a location which was previously an old school!
abit eerie, if you ask me. :P
still, the company is great and the food is quite good too! :)
i've known most of them for 8 years (minus ah yan)! gosh, how time flies.
but its really great to see them once in awhile yet the conversations just flow! :)
more 8 years to come!

pounds piling up!

brought yz along for my routine check-up yesterday so he can "see" his lil' didi.
but think he is more interested in running around my gynea's clinic and exploring the place.
tsk tsk.

anyway, little peanut is around 650g, a good weight for my 24weeks now.
BUT, i've put on 9kg to date!
do your maths, im obviously at the losing (gaining) end.
pui.

another 3 weeks before i enter 3rd tri.
so far so good. fingers crossed for keeping the energy level up!

3 years anniversary - part 2

as part of our 3 year wedding anniversary celebration, ive treated hubbi to ronald chengxwilliam so concert at max pavilion yesterday. hehe.
as usual, hubbi was clueless as to how is this concert link to our anniversary.
likewise for his birthday earlier this year, his "birthday gift" is a ticket to jacky cheung's concert. hiaks. tsk tsk. what a wife.

we left the baby @ my mum's place in the afternoon before spending some quiet couple time @ parkway parade.
it's really a luxury to just slowly window-shop in peace without the lil' terror. :P
the husband treated me to my fav. steamboat at PP's basement food court.
think the last time we ate here was 9mths back for my birthday!

we left for singapore expo after dinner and headed to the concert excitedly (me lah!).

concert started at 8pm promptly and ended at 10-ish.
was sad to say it was quite a lacklustre one for me.
maybe the time has to be split between 2 singers and ronald's time was further split into mandarin and cantonese segments.
so in all, i only managed to listen to just a few of his mandarin songs. sigh.
oh well.

looking forward to our 3D2N staycation end of the month.

yz's childcare has allowed parents to enter their premises again, starting from 1 Oct.
previously, we are to drop-off and fetch them only at the door given the precautions for H1N1.
so on thursday morning, i walked yz to his classroom to deposit his bag.
its really interesting to see traces of him/his works around the little room. heh.

so we did our usual sunday morning routine: off to bukit merah town centre for breakfast and grocery shopping @ ntuc.
came back for yz's nap and home-cooked lunch for him. :)

after the good nap, we were finally good to go!

window-shopped around for a stroller as hubbi wanted to get a lighter one to replace our current quest.
didnt manage to see anything we like.
bought a new mickey mouse bedsheet set for yz though!
cant wait to change it, im sure he will love it!

3rd stop: went to fetch my mum and headed to parkway parade!
hubbi wanted to try the isetan for light stroller choices still... @_@
as usual, yz has the most fun wandering through the toy section and taking the many kiddy rides there.
wah, $1 per ride is really expensive! bleh.
for moi, i got to try my durian ice cream from scoopz! yummy!

by the time we sent my mum home and reached home ourselves, was really tired.
luckily yz promptly went to sleep at 845pm, leaving hubbi and me to have some time to catch the F1 race and also a movie on the PC - hangover! :)
the show is only so-so, much to my disappointment. maybe we should catch the upcoming funny people!
ok, time for bed.. *yawn*

yz is getting smarter by the days!
mum was commenting to me that he was looking for "papa" & "mamee" on wed evening (he was staying over at my mum's place).
so my mum gave him the usual excuse," 爸爸，妈咪在做工。"
and smartypants him said, "nono, 爸爸，妈咪没有做工。 在红山睡觉！"
heheh. the little son knows that daddy and mammy dont have to work at night and we are at our redhill house.
so darn cute!

25.09.09! 3rd year anniversary part 1
hubbi and me are married for 3 years liao!
*woohoo* time flies. and he was complaining that half the time, im pregnant. @_@
sorry baby, will make up for couple time when #2 arrives (but i think will be harder... hehe).
poor hubbi was sick (down with cough) on the day itself so we didn't really plan anything fanciful.
will have a belated celebration when we go for the upcoming concert and hotel stay! :)

hubbi came and look for me for lunch at my work area.
brought him to try some peranakan food which he likes! after parting our way, he left for doctor as he was feeling really unwell. and doc said he's down with stomach flu!
gosh, how unlucky.

but my concern was really, will he spread to yz?! oops, terrible wife.
so that evening, hubbi stayed at home to rest while i brought yz out to meet my ex-colls for dinner @ vivo!
great time meeting them! we should really do such gatherings more often.
and thankfully, yz was relatively well-behaved most of the time.

whatever plans we had for saturday was cancelled due to a weak hubbi.
but it was a good time for the ng family to catch up on our rest (more for ah long and myself lah!). we napped for a good 2hrs+ together with the son in early noon.

nearer to evening, we made a trip to ikea to see if any shopping to be done.

yz's dinner was ikea meat balls and surprisingly he really likes it! hehe.
he was going, "more meat balls, pls!". really a good dinner without us racking our brains what to feed him. :P

in the end, hubbi got a new study chair and floor mat for the corridor.
