3D2N Redang Cruise Trip - Part 2

woke up bright & early at 7+am.
yz is really on the dot than the best alarm clock in the world. sheesh.
dragged our tired bodies out for breakkie.
took a slow walk along the lower deck on the way to the restaurant.

anyway, yz saw some animals painted on the wall and demanded to take photos with each and single one of them!

after breakfast, my FIL took us to a place where we can see the captain steering the ship!
quite cool and this is the first time im in such an "observation" room. :)

after going back to the cabin to bath, its time for a short nap for the son before we embarked to redang for a short day trip later!

cheeky baby on the top bunk. lucky for us he didnt insist on sleeping up there.

after yz woke up from his nap and a quick lunch, we were good to depart for redang island on small boats!

i dont really enjoy such rides as i cant stand the bobbing motion.

but suan le, the journeys took ard 10mins 1 way anyway.

the froggy that yz was carrying is actually for me to have a hold on him. (it came with a rope)

pardon the first time jittery parents overseas with their precious baby. :P

luckily yz thought the rope (green and furry too) is the tail of froggy and held on to it with us on-off as we walked. :)

anyway, redang is really small and totally not my cup of tea!

the sun is everywhere!! and the heat! gosh.

but the water looks really blue and pretty lah.. from afar. haha.

after sometimes, seeked refuge in the resort pavillion for shade.

they were having some sort of pasar malam going on there.

which is the most exciting activity for those like us who are not there for any diving or snorkelling. haha.

the boy shared my love for corn!

we went back to our cruise ship after a mere 2 hrs on the island. tsk tsk.

bathed again as we were all sticky and sweaty after the excursion!

after that, hubbi went for a slow jog around the upper deck while i brought the son jalan jalan abit.

we returned the library book and got another new one.

we had a fun time trying to locate our photos @ the gallery section and yz was so happy to find his! hehe.

anyway, detected that yz looked suspiciously zonked out and listless the way he does only when he is sick.

true to my gut feelings, his forehead was hot to my touch. argh!

quickly told hubbi about it and we went for a fast dinner before going back cabin to feed him paracetamol.

so glad that we brought meds along.

yz settled for an uneasy sleep by 7pm and we did the same too!

gosh, the redang day trip must be more tiring for us than we knew.

woke up on-off to sponge yz and fed him more fever meds as we monitored him.

sheesh, talk about trying to rest for this trip. @_@

but i used the time to feast on potato chips while reading my novel.

a happy way to spend my night (minus the part about having a sick toddler besides me..).

yz's fever subsided though not totally when we woke up at around 9+am.

but he's back to his usual active self and im really glad.

after bathing, we still have sometime before checking-out.

so we went to return the library book and then to the arcade centre to let yz have a go at some of the games.

he was sooo happy driving bikes and steering wheels!

2 hot "rods". *ahem* hahah

after this, went for lunchie at bella vista.

we were given good seating which gave us some good view of the sea as the ship cruises along. :)

yz's out-of-bed hair lasted almost 3 hours. im impressed.

after the satisfying lunch, its time to check-out and go back to the cabin to pack our luggage.

though this trip was anything but long coupled with the son falling sick, we had some good times.

now, i cant wait for our own trip come this mid-sept! :)

3D2N Redang Cruise Trip - Part 1

very excited for this trip for this will be yz's official first overseas trip!
not too keen on this trip as we are not travelling alone but with my in-laws as well as SIL and nephew.
i guess sometimes, you just cant win 'em all?

still, hubbi, yz and i were all in high spirits on wednesday. :)

i thought he is looking more and more like me as he grows up, no?

met up with the in-laws around 430pm. and after some mad queuing up, we were in the cruise ship 1 hour later! :)

stayed in cabin with window this time round.

wanted to get balcony class initially but was worried about safety issues when it comes to yz.

so decided not to go for it. the husband is of cos glad for the savings lah. tsk tsk.

after unpacking our stuff, we went to the chinese restaurant to have dinner.

then its time to explore the cruise ship!

since both hubbi and i have been on a cruise ship a few times liao, its more for yz's sake that we do so.

the boy was so excited seeing the sea and the facilities!

we ended the night by borrowing a children book from the library (!!) and went back to nua in our cabin by 8+pm!

haha.

i was actually hoping to use this trip to get myself some proper rest. :P

hubbi wanted to leave the son in in-laws care while we go try our luck at the tables.

he even considered sponsoring me.

but guess he doesnt know me inside-out well enough....

i said no cos i cant bear to leave my son's side even for a moment!

unless its with my mum. :P

he soon fell asleep by 10pm and i used this time to catch up with my own reading!

bought "the girl with a pearl earring" on board since this is borrowed from a library which means i need to finish it fast!

anyway, i did so during the cruise trip.

it aint as fantastic as i thought though im definitely curious how its like for the movie.

i borrowed this book cos im interested in vermeer before this show as his works are really good with the contrast of light.

still, my fav. baroque painter is caravaggio! no one beats him!

sigh, i want to revisit borghese gallery in rome again!

it houses some really really good pieces of caravaggio's and bernini's works.

anyway, first evening/night on cruise was uneventful and peaceful.

the way i like it.

life's good when you are on leave to catch a good show

both hubbi and me are on leave today cos we are going for our cruise later in the afternoon!
but as usual, we made plans for some activities before that.
business as usual in the morning:
yz to childcare and yr to my mum's place.
yes, yr is not joining us for the trip.
sorry baby, you just have to wait till you are older like your gor gor before you can travel overseas.
but i suspect yr will do so at a younger age than yz.

so we woke up early (cos the kiddos just wake up as per their normal timing), and prepared for the day.

i actually felt sad when i was leaving my mum's place.

thought its the same 3D2N he's gonna be staying there, but perhaps i will be overseas this time round made me actually start missing him the moment i left him with mum. :(

went vivo with the husband for breakfast and window-shopped abit before catching our show at 12pm.

for once, im the one who dragged him to see watches!!

hehe. anyway, all the designs that i fancy are out of my range - 5 digit is totally another ball game altogether!

*gulp*

i can never make myself pay so much for a single watch.

UNLESS, the man decided to heavily subsidize me!

but would need incessant nagging. too tired for this big project for the time being. wahahah.

caught "inception" and was totally blown away by it.

fucking awesome!

nolan again caught me off-guard with his genius.

and leo as usual was the role itself.

finally after sooo long, hubbi admitted that leo can act.

yah lah yah lah, he is super slow in realising that.

inception is easily the top movie for 2010 just like how prestige was for 2006!

have liked nolan's style every since i watched "memento"

ever since, ive caught most of his movies with the exception of "following" and "insomnia".

what about you?!

likewise for dicaprio, i've watched a fair bit of his shows too:

what's eating gilbert grapes, R&J, Titanic, man in iron mask, the beach, gangs of new york, catch me if you can, the aviator, the departed, blood diamond, revolutionary road, shutter island and now, inception.

yes, im a closeted (or maybe not) fan of him.

would like to watch "this boy's life" and " basketball diaries". anyone who has the vcds/dvds, pls be kind and lend to me, ya?!

after the show, rushed to pick up the elder son and then home to get the luggage.

of cos, me being me, cannot tahan staying at home whole day taking care of the son.

so off we went, as usual!

met up with Don & Huey Shan for lunch @ suntec.

was very glad that they decided to meet at secret recipe as i was just having cravings for some tom yum soup! :)

nice catching up with both of them.

was really glad to know them as friends from my ex-company and maintain the friendship till now.

its really hard to do so as we grow older, ya?

yr was co-operative as usual and guai guai sat in the pram throughout the lunch session. :)

after that, its gai gai time for me!

window-shopped abit @ marina sq when making my way from suntec to city hall station.

took the train to ion and for once i didnt head to B4 for light snacks.

so didnt manage to see the "floods" as reported in the news..

went a/x and was so tempted to get a pair of jeans. took me immense willpower to walk away from it. haha.

even sms-ed the husband so he can replied and talked sense into me.

he replied that he will sponsor the jeans for me instead. @_@

very sweet lah but so not apt.

he really very inconsistent. sometimes can show me black face when he sees my purchases then at times chu pattern like this.

siao one.

since we are going vivo tomorrow, shall show him the real deal and see what he will say again.

fed yr his milk and played with him for awhile. the boy was so glad to be carried and be able to see where he was! haha.

rested my tired feet at coffee bean while waiting for the husband to off work.

started flipping through one of the new book- blink by malcolm gladwell.

his books are such easy engaging reads!

anyway ive most of his books (most of them un-read yet @_@) at home.

it has been a good day spending time with the younger son as he tends to get neglected by me more often nowadays when the active and "i ve 1 million questions for you" gor gor is around.

hope we can do so more often!

my little 包 turns 6 months old!

how time flies!
yr turns 6months old last sunday! :)
if he is a girl, most would call him one hot chilli padi!
but since he's a boy, i can only say he has one fiery temper! hehe.

still my same old baby.
will turn very cranky/angry when its near his feeding time.
and most nights without fail will cry/shout till you carry him to sleep while "scolding" you non-stop with the pacifier in his mouth like a tow-kay.
still will wake up at least once in the night though most of the time pacifier and feeding of water will get him to dreamland once more.
when will he sleep through the night!?

ok, aside from the above, he is actually a very easy peasy baby most of the time during the day.
compared to his gor gor, im pretty amazed at his willingness to sit still in the car seat/pram.
i can just bring him out for few hours at 1 go alone and the boy will guai guai sit in his pram looking around with interest and then slowly drift to dreamland on his own.
leaving me to shop/eat in peace.
definitely beats handling an active toddler who demands to "去看我的玩具先！"........

and he is so generous with his smiles!
and i love the way he gently strokes my face when i place it near him.
he has never once scratch my face since birth.. how amazing.
he really seems to know the notion of "sayang" well. :)

nowadays, he is able to sit for a few seconds by leaning his weight forwards on his hands.
think he may be able to sit earlier than gor gor, but we shall see..

just introduced him rice cereals today and he managed to finish 1 tablespoon easily.
good job! hopefully can slowly build up the portion to replace 1 milk feed and satisfy his appetite more.
a hungry baby is an angry one! haha.

weight updates #6

ok, no more weight updates after this.
currently, my weight stands at 54kg, 1 kg heavier than my pre-preggy weight of 53kg.
be it fats or muscle mass, im quite happy to live with this extra kilo.
so long i can fit back into my old clothes. :)

of course, with old age and slower metabolism rate, weight monitoring is an on-going affair.
through proper diet (+ snacks now and then) & regular exercise, i hope i can maintain my bodyshape + weight for as long as i can.

i think i can.
if my mum is a good gauge of future me and not my dad. :P

a day with myself

been really busy with quarter-end during start of the month.
hence decided to take 1 day off to take a break from work and run some errands.
being me, i packed the day choked full with activities again!
and ended up being more tired and broke. sigh.

7am: woke up feeling f*** tired. blame it on the WC finals that made me lost money. pui. the kiddos didnt care that im on leave either.

8am: dropped yz at his childcare

830am: dropped yr at my mum's place for his 3D2N stay

845am: had breakfast with hubbi. its always good to manage this w/o the kids at times. :)

930am: dropped hubbi off work

1030am: dental appointment

1115am: window-shopped @ bugis and chanced upon topshop end-season sale! ended up with 1 shorts + 1 bangle. @_@

12pm: body combat class @ gym! poor aching body after that.

145pm: watched "twilight". i think im in team jacob this time round. sizzling hot body plus sizzling passionate. how to resist?!

4pm: went for a hair-trim. got persuaded into opting for treatment. when will i learn to say no to such things?!

445pm: shopping time! decided to explore haji lane. though its near my workplace, seldom have time to go there during lunchtime.
sone of the finds are really nice but not exactly cheap. sigh.
bought a top from soon lee & a pants from wicked laundry.
the husband gave me a piece of his mind. :(
i think i need to curb my shopping urges for the rest of july liao....

6pm: fetched yz from childcare.

630pm: had dinner @ kiliney road near hubbi's workplace

730pm till now: home sweet home.
spent time with the son and finished up all the back-logged housework.
settled the son to sleep.
watched the tube with hubbi.

i should go to bed liao.

it really comes as a surprise to me that ESP is the favourite in this finals.
NED has won for all its matches so far!
oh well, good thing is the odds are higher for NED.

finally no need to see tiny, lagging screens on the PC!
finally can see the matches on channel 5!
but never managed to finish any matches due to the siao timing!

finally i betted on the 2 semi-finals matches.

GSS part 4 (6 technically)

zara sale started!
and then i lost control.
like again. @_@

sale started on thursday and i went to 3 different branches on thursday, friday and saturday.
how scary.
and as i prowled the shopping malls, i came across more sales!
SALE SALE SALE!
gosh, the word is making my head dizzy and burning holes in my wallet before i can shout "yippee"!

and the damage is great this week (yesh, i think i've been shopping every single f**king week since GSS started end May):
1) 1 dress, 2 skirts, 1 jacket + 1 sandals from zara
2) 1 dress from massimo dutti
3) 1 top from DKNY jeans
4) 1 top from alldressedup
5) 1 berms from zara for the husband (its time to pay my dues. muhaha.)

not surprising, the husband is really getting mad at me.
and coupled with some (un)expected cash outflows coming at me at the same time:
1) jay chou concert tickets! forgot im going this month wahaha. exp it is but i think its gonna worth it!
2) SKII products (treatment essence, treatment masks, signs eye masks) which my friend has helped me to got it @ staff discounted prices! another hole to the wallet but so much cheaper than retail prices!
i think i really spend too much. *gulp*

so now im on top of the least fav. people list of 2 persons - hubbi and myself.
sigh.

its really not a good sign when you've more than 15 items of clothings not yet worn in your wardrobe and you are also running out of cloth hangers.

my strategy for now:
to lie low till nearer to end of month and surfaced again for some good buys when GSS is at its tail-end.
which means further slash up to 50-70% for most brands.
if they still have my sizes, its godwill that i should buy 'em right?!
waiting out for zara, A/X, ted baker, banana republic etc.
MUHAHAHA.

yah lah yah lah. i 本性难移 lah.

still, must mention here for similar shopaholics out there like me:
club 21 brands are having sale now! ranging from 30% to 40% with additional 10% for UOB cardmembers!
if prices are still too steep like some brands are to me, can wait till they further slash up to 70% ( in 2 weeks time i think).

sigh. if only my money-printer is working.

performance by wormy!

yz had his first performance at school on wednesday!
specially took afternoon leave to attend the performance.
a pity hubbi cant make it as it was really entertaining seeing all the kids from toddlers to K2 classes performing! :)
yz belongs to nursery 1 class now and his class is supposed to come up with 2 performances:
1) singing 当我们同在一起 chinese song
2) singing and dancing to "lou lou skip to my lou"

yz and his classmates have been practising hard for the past 2 weeks and his teacher has kept me with status progress every other days.
initially, yz didnt want to participate in the dancing/singing at all!
he simply sat on the floor as said by the teacher.

but the teacher told me she suspected yz knew the steps just that he's unwilling to dance with his peers.
she aint sure if he's unhappy with his partner or just shy with performing.
so i went home and pretend singing the song for the 1st time and guess what?! he can make all the right moves in the comfort zone of our house! tsk tsk.
so i encouraged him to dance with his partner at school and said he's doing great!

then few more days passed and teacher again feedback to me saying yz did participated now but from time to time, he will stop and tell her ,"I cannot do it." !! thats his exact words!
really dont know wats going on in his mind.

again, we praticed at home and he can do the whole routine just fine.
so i encouraged him once again that he CAN do it. so will he do it in school? to which he answered yes...

after that, he more or less will participate in the whole rehearsal but now the comments were he tends to "over"-dance and strayed from the main group.
LOL.

anyway, i sat at the 3rd row away from his sight (as advised by the teachers as some kids tend to cry/fuss when they see their parents).
my boy did GREAT!
he sang a few lines to the 1st song and he's one of the few who kept to the dance routine for the 2nd song!
that is until........... he saw me in the middle of the song lah.
then, he stopped in his tracks and refused to move any more. haha.
oh well. still, im proud of him! :)
