yz 3yo bday Part 3 - cake cutting in school

after reaching home at 1+pm, the son was so tired that he fell asleep immediately.
soon after, the husband also got knocked out.
ahhh... peace in the house so the mistress got some quiet time to catch up with her korean drama shows. hehehehehe.

they woke up at 3+pm and we were good to go for cake-cutting session with yz's friends in his school!
we collected the cake from tiong bahru plaza and went straight to his school.

yz was v happy to be w his friends and his cake!
he was so indecisive when choosing his cake design that in the end, i just chose bob the builder for him...
luckily he was fine with that too..

his friends sang both the ang moh and chinese bday song version for him.

then, its eating time! between 9 kiddos & 3 adults we managed to finish the whole cake.
im quite impressed haha.
they have really grown up. previously a smaller cake is suffice for his class.
now the kids come back for 2nd servings! :)


time to distribute the party packs!
yz has helped me with the packing previously and he chose the contents himself too! - which includes M&M mini pack, loacker biscuits, burger gummy etc


and amazingly, most of the kids "auto" went to put the party pack in their own pigeon holes!
they know the pack is to be brought home to be consumed!
so disciplined! very very impressed.

after that, we said goodbye to yz's friends and went home for a quiet evening. :)

yz 3yo bday Part 2 - Festive

after a tiring day at USS, its time for us to check into our hotel for a good bath!
while waiting for hubbi to get the luggage from the car, more photos with the elder son. heh.



my baby is so grown up now! he even knows to pose on cue! hahaha.

checking in is a breeze @ festive hotel.
the room is as roomy as expected and we were all so glad to have a warm bath after the hot, sticky humid time at USS!

i wasnt too comfy with yz sleeping so high up alone in the loft bed.
neither am i keen to accompany him to up there!
hence to my relief when the boy expressed his reluctance to sleep up there too.
when asked why, he replied, “我睡这里看不到爸爸妈咪嘞！" .
LOL. so funny.

after bathing and unpacking some stuff, we were good to go jalan jalan abit @ Festive walk and also to hunt for a dinner place.
Festive walk is really quite boring if you asked me. :P

we walked around aimlessly till we were back in Festive hotel again!

decided to settle for Festive restaurant.

we ordered a 2 course & 4 course set dinner to be shared among us.

the portion is just nice!

the next morning after brekkie, it was time to hit the pool!

we decided to head for the hard rock hotel one since it seems to be much nicer.

see festive hotel even has mini bedroom slippers for the kiddo!

finally it was time for us to go back hotel to bath, pack up and bade farewell to resort world!

yz has indeed enjoyed the 2D1N stay here and we were glad to see his happy little face too! :)

but the day aint over for us!

there was still the cake-cutting session @ his school in the afternoon...

worrywart

im 偷偷 a worrywart.
ok, maybe its not really a secret.
there are like a trillion things in the world that can make me go crazy with worry.
alot of things unhinged me and make me feel very very unsettled.
so out of the 1,840,582 and counting things that worry me, 2 things fell into place on their own recently.
and believe me, im so glad of it.

1) yz is officially daytime toilet-trained!
this happened about 1 mth back when he started to tell us that he needs to pee.
and pee he did! succesfully in a cup (now in a toilet bowl). :)
and he's able to poo poo in his potty now too.

as yz's verbal skills developed slightly earlier than his peers, i was always confident that he will be toilet-trained easily too.
i forgot that apart from the ability to say so his urges, the willingness to do so is an integral part of toilet training too. :(
and hence, even though yz can communicate perfectly to us when he wants to pee/poo, he refuse to do so with his diapers off.
and for awhile, i let him go diaperless thinking he will eventually pee/poo out of no choice.
BUT the boy chose to hold back his pee!! and cried hysterically when the urge to pee/poo was so bad that he has no choice but to do so on the floor.
it was a stressful period for both me and him.
that was half a year back and hubbi made one of the most sensible suggestions in his life.
he told me to try doing so half a year later when yz is 3 yo.
i was reluctant for i thought 3yo is a tad old to start toilet-training.
but i follow suit the suggestion as i really didnt want yz to associate toilet-training to stress.

and as life is, 1 mth before he turns 36m, yz decided to be toilet-trained.
he requested to be off diapers and in underwear!
then he told me he needs to pee and managed to do when i brought him to the toilet! :)
and the poo poo part follow smoothly with the usage of his potty.
im so happy that its such a smooth process after all.
for now, im just glad he's toilet-trained in the daytime. will slowly do so for the night time.
maybe another half-year bah! :P
worrywart i am but lazy bones i am too!

2) yr's drooling is almost over!
as yz didnt have such a problem when he was young, i was really at a loss when yr started drooling massively since young!!
all those bibs i got for yz which were relatively unused suddenly come into good use for yr!
and he needs more than what i have! *gasp*
i was quite upset over his drooling as apart from the need to change his bibs/clothings ever so often (as they get drenched pretty fast!), there is also the risk of rashes on his chin.
but as yr crossed the 9m mark, the drooling suddenly gets lesser and lesser.
and now, a few hours can passed before he drools that little bit.
ahhh... im so glad. :)

yah as you can guess by now.
out of the 1,840,582 and counting things that i worry about, more than 80% are about my kiddos. @_@

yz 3yo bday Part 1 - USS

its my 宝贝 3 years old birthday on 26.10.10!
since a few months back, i've already managed to persuade the stingy husband to go for a staycation @ resort world so we can bring yz to USS! :)
so thats what we did for yesterday and today!
we've booked a room @ festive hotel for 1 night and we brought yz to USS on his actual bday too!


so on yesterday morning, we drove yr to my mum's place and had breakkie with them.
after kissing my lil' 包 goodbye, we made our way to USS!

on hollywood stretch. i think hubbi and i look happier than yz! LOL

we started our tour from madagascar and the son started to get excited.

we took a photo with the folks from madagascar!

its a good thing we went on a weekday. not much crowd around and we hardly spend too much time queuing up!

after that, we had a go at the carousel and yz had a blast.

he wanted marty the zebra initially but all were snapped up fast!

so he settled on alex the lion! :)

even i got to play haha. poor hubbi was the camera man of cos. :P

after the ride, we were greeted with a street performance by the animals!
"i like to move it, move it!" wahaha.

yz has watched the show so he knew the song naturally.

yz abit cautious with the lion haha.

think he prefers the penguins!

next, its far far away land!

yz has watched shrek too and he was excited to see shrek's house and the castle.

we didnt manage to take the roller coaster ride in this area.

actually, yz's height is good to sit in it but we didnt do so since we are not sure if he'll be freaked out by the ride. also, roller coasters are not really hubbi or my cup of tea.

both of us were unwilling to take it haha.

we went to catch the 4D shrek show instead!

yz was surprised by the water spraying on us when donkey sneezed! haha.

it was fun, even for adults.

we managed to take a ride on this indoor ferry wheel thingy in shrek gift shop.

can you spot us? we were in the lowest one!

by now, its lunchtime and we decided to settle for it in the lost world! *roar*

cos we were looking for asian food for the son! wahaha.

yz enjoyed soaring into the air in this ride too!
again ,we didnt take the canopy ride for im afraid of heights myself and didnt want to freak yz out too!

its kinda boring for us. we did managed to take a car ride which yz thought hes the driver.

haha. so long the boy is happy. :)

the highlight is an indoor roller coaster that has you flying/jerking around in top speed in the dark! *gulp*

naturally, we gave that a miss too.

sci-fi world was kinda dead too since the main attration - human cyclone ride - is still down.

by then, its already 230pm and the boy was so tired he fell asleep in hubbi's arms.

so we settled down in a cafe and let him nap for an hour while we enjoyed a quiet moment drinking mocha and eating cake.

yz woke up at 330pm. just in time for us to catch a rock-n-roll musical by all the monsters! :)

the show aint too bad as we saw dracula, mummy, werewolf etc belting out rock songs. haha.

after the musical at 4+pm, we have to walk quickly over to the water world in the lost world for its performance at 430pm!

im so glad we managed to catch it for this is the best show in USS.

if not, i would actually think USS is not really worth the price tix given its size and the lacklustre programmes lined up...

yz was suitably impressed with all the "explosions" and "gunfights" between the good and notti uncles. LOL

we were seated in the splash zone and true to its description, we were abit wet from the splashing ard.

there is a SOAK zone for those who are game enough! haha

those pple sitting there were really drenched!

most of the crowd were good sports and i enjoyed this performance segment the most! :)

we decided to call it a day for USS finally.

its 5pm and time for us to check-in our hotel for a good bath and dinner time in resort world!

Perth Part 5 - Swan Valley II

last day in swan valley/perth.
we checked out at 11am after a hearty breakfast at our host's place and packing our luggage.
we left our luggage in the car boot and walked over to the cuddly animals pet farm next door!

yz has tons of fun here as there is a bouncy castle for him to jump like a monkey.
baby farm animals for him to pet here and there.
though the son had fun, hubbi and i were actually a bit tired of seeing all the animals and cant wait to get out of the hot sun. haha.

after this pet farm, we started driving around exploring swan valley.

we settled for lunch at this oggies creamery place where the owner makes his own ice-cream and whips up nice dishes for meals!

im glad we chose here for i've one of the nicest potato leek soup here in my life

yz's lagsane was really good too.

and of cos the home-made ice cream!

we went to a few places after lunch, including an orange farm, strawberry farm, house of honey, nougats place etc.

its like a fake mini road trip! LOL.

some very interesting art pieces here. but i really wonder who will come here just to buy.

again, i may be surprised at the answer

finally, its time for us to return our rental car at the airport after dinner.

anyway, our night flight back to sg was the WORST flight hubbi and i ever took in our lives!

the pilot only started the descent in less than 30mins to landing time (is that too short a time?).

and due to bad weather or bad handling of the plane, we suffered bad turbulences and at one point of time, the plane actually dropped a few feet in the air!!

resulting our butts to leave the seats for a few seconds!

fucking disgusting.

im only glad that yz was asleep during this period.

we were never so glad to when the plane finally touched down at changi airport. @_@

still, the trip was really a blast, sans the bad return flight.

yz seems to really enjoy the trip and 1 mth later today, he can still remember details of it. :)

hopefully, he will enjoy the next family trip - hong kong! teehee.

if everthing goes well, we will be heading there next Q1! :)
