6 years anniversary with the husband!

today, bb and i celebrated our 6 years anniversary as husband and wife!

gosh, i can only say time flies and even though the kids make such celebrations only possible during the day, im very glad to have them still.

and of cos, the man who makes all this possible. :)

we took the afternoon off to spend some time on our own.

a very much welcomed rarity without the kids around. :P

the afternoon programme was very very simple and but it did brought us back to dating days. :)

hubbi came picked my up at 12+ from my office and we made our way to valentino @ turf city.

yes, i've fell in love with this gem of a restaurant since i tried their food for yan's hen party.

and this time round, i brought the husband to try the food here!

as usual, the spoilsport man was ranting is the place really worth the distance and why cant we just settle for a restaurant at MBS since its so near my workplace.

but im glad he came along in the end.

since he originally wanted cut at MBS, i ordered him the tenderloin here to satisfy his craving.

for myself, i ordered the squid ink spaghetti with crab meat.

and as i expected, ah long was suitably impressed with the food here as well as the decor/ambience of the place. :)

we left for a movie in town after lunch.

since i've already caught "to rome with love" (yes, i managed to catch some shows on the big screen recently again! :)), we settled for "ruby sparks".

a very very original and different movie.

i still cant decide if its weirdly good or so good its weird. ha.

though clearly, the show says you have to let the other half to just be him/herself.

if not, a relationship just cannot work.

when we enter a relationship/marriage, you should have a good understanding of your partner character/traits etc.

the fact that you choose to start a new phase of life with him/her means you have accepted him/her, no?

so why the need to change them after?

easier said than done.

most people, myself included, prefer to change others then to change for others.

food for thought anyway.

hubbi and i have been together for > a decade now and married for 6 years.

and we are still struggling to find a balancing point whereby we can stay sane and take on the multiple roles required from us in life.

for me the equation is simple - if i dont feel the need to kick him at sight, we are doing alright. :P

whats up with this week?

was on PM leave yesterday and i was at a loss.
too many things that i wanted to do but too little time and budget (low on cash... cant wait for payday next week!).
got myself a haircut, weather too hot and really long hair is a hassle when you have to go to the gym during workday lunchtime.
the amount of effort and time spend on blow drying the hair is so bleah.

went to collect my fav. snowskin champagne mooncake from raffles hotel.
in fact, i had it for dinner today. *burp* haha.

the girls will be coming to my house for mini potluck gathering!
jm is back from down under and it will be good catching up with her until the next time we see her again at bo's wedding..

candice bday dinner

met up with the gang for candice bday yesterday.
it was a foodie evening!
dinner was at kko kko nara for yummeh korean food!
we had kimchi pancake, kimchi hotpot, the famous chicken wings etc. *slurp*

as that is not a place for us to hold up the table and chit chat non-stop, we left around 8+pm.
walking along tras street, we chanced upon a Talentcafe with nice decor and seemingly nice desserts.
so we settled there for some beer/martinis and cakes.
the beer aint too bad but the desserts/martinis were nothing exceptional.

after awhile, the music gets a bit on our nerves so we left as well..
walking aimlessly, we decided to head for PS cafe @ ann-siang for its truffle fries!
LOL. with all the food intake, i settled for digestive tea there :P

by the time we were done with all the chatting and food, it was past midnight already.. @_@
as we headed out to cab home, we walked past maxwell market and some of us still want supper there!!
we didnt in the end cos most of us were feeling real tired from the long working week..
and the one who wanted tabao food home. gosh.

still, a very fun night out as usual with the usual gang.
and we decided to have a grand party end next year to celebrate our 20 years of friendship!
gosh, we have surely come a long way!

paranorman - more funny than spooky

brought the boys to catch paranorman just now.
little nut is definitely more ready for the big screen now.
lasted the whole show with minimum fussing and definitely no more asking out loud," 这是什麽?!".

the show was actually more suited for adults than kids.
even so, it was just alrighty though i really like its kind of animation.
for the special GV rate for tuesday at $6.50/pax, i would say the show is still worth watching. :P

lazy sunday

today, the ng family made a trip to T3.

it has been months since our last time here.

had simple dinner at crystal jade before walking around, exploring the retail shops here.

we were pretty surprised at the no. of shops at B2.

the last time we were here, we didnt venture beyond the food court. ha.

the boys like the space here. maybe we will be back soon.

long friday for me but im totally not complaining!

was on leave yesterday and it was a fun day for me!
the boys played on their own and let me to laze in bed until 10am! what a luxury!
woke up and after awhile, we got ready to meet candice for lunch in town. :)
we went window-shopping, high-tea at wisma paris baguette and just happy chatting most of the time. 
the boys behaved rather well with lots of food bought as bribery, ha.

went back home around 6+pm to wait for the husband to come home from work to "change shift" with me.
for im due to head out to yan's hen party for the night! *woohoo*
dinner was at valentino @ turf city.
this family run restaurant serves really authentic italian food.
everything that we ordered was super sumptious and the prices were very reasonable ~ $50-80 per pax.
the squid ink spaghetti, beed tenderloin with blue cheese, risotto etc were very very good.
i think i will bring the husband back here to dine again soon. :)

after dinner, we adjourned to mono @ dragonfly for some serious ktv-ing!!
we booked a pretty huge room for our group of 13 from 12-4am.
no joke, the singing never ceased for the 4 hours.
from "glad you came" from the wanted to "志明与春娇" by mayday, we kept the high party mood going  strong.
though i can only say "drained" is the only feeling for most of us at the end of the night/morning. @_@
but, can see the bride-to-be very happy the whole night and that is the whole point!

poor me woke up early this morning for the boys' phonic lessons at 930am. *gulp*
i barely made it till our nap time at 1pm, lol.
now feeling refreshed, we should be getting ready to go out for dinner!

survived the weekend and cant wait for tues to come

i did it! survived closing for this weekend!

and yesterday closing day 1 was fraught with issues and we stayed till pretty late.:(

i barely woke myself up this morning to drag myself to work.

today was pretty smooth and ended in time around late afternoon.

hubbi and the boys came to look for me and we went to pizzeria mozza for dinner! :)

their pizza and desserts were really good. yum yum.

now, while waiting for the boys to zzz, i feel like sleeping myself too.

think it will be an early night for me.

really feeling burnt out from the extended long working week.

cant wait for tuesday to come when i go on my off in lieu.

and friday as well.

im glad the coming work week will be a short one.
