again, we lazed in hotel until its lunch time then we headed out. we took a good long stroll to our lunch venue - le jardin.
along the way, we strolled past streets/alleys where the locals went about doing their usual activities.
seriously it feels like a throwback to the 70's SG? though I've never seen for myself firsthand how that is like...
barber by the street! rice sold by scoops!
by the time we reached our lunch venue, we were already melting from the heat. though it was crazy hot, we still chose to be seated outside in the garden for smoking is still allowed indoor in most places....
the husband opted for a cooling coke while I settled for a chilled rose wine of cos!
the onion soup was very authentically done so thumbs up for that.
my grouper was a little too hard but the other main courses were really not too bad.
one thing worth mentioning is the garlic for the bread came in cloves. very few restaurants serve it this way. in SG, i only know bedrock does it this way and it was absolutely tasty.
@ le jardin!
next, we walked to Saigon centre and spent some time there. I finally managed to get A SINGLE piece of clothing - a top from axara!
we chanced upon a café when we were heading to the markets - lusine. remember reading good feedbacks about it, we decided to pop in for tea break!
the first floor was a retail space while the café was on the second floor
from the décor you should be able to guess the pricing is not exactly budget range but the drinks were good so no complaints.
we ordered fat chips and carbs is always good! ha.
saigon and ben thanh markets are really nothing to shout again.
so many clothings but not my type so they were actually abit nighmarish to navigate around.
we didnt spend too much time there and before long, we decided to head to our dinner venue which is a long walk from the markets.
but when you have nothing but time on your hands, a good stroll is always welcomed..
dinner venue was decided last night when I quickly asked gb for some recommendations.
ty coz Saigon was decided for the mummy absolutely adore French cuisine so even though we have that for lunch, nothing is stopping us from having it again for dinner! *yeah*
and this was the best meal in HCMC for me!
my mains - duck cooked in some orange sauce is delicious! and their desserts - thumbs UP!!!
and that concluded our day 4 in HCMC!
the boys slept early that night from all the walking while the husband and I did what we love most when travelling - chips + HBO! LOL.
and next day, we lazed in the hotel room (whats new!) after breakfast until 1 pm (we requested for late check-out), then called a cab to airport for our short flight back to SG!
what a short getaway done with mixed feelings... LOL.
no mind, I shall start counting down to our next family trip in mid nov! I need to get some more planning firm up!
