1 year anniversary - Part 2!

*warning - many photos ahead*

FINALLY! we got to use the hotel voucher for our 1-year anniversary! we were given 2 nights stay when we got married @ Pan Pacific last september but i converted one night to a voucher for anniversary purpose! :)

so on sat morning, we woke up bright & chirpy to do the usual - housework chores (bah!) and before long, we got ready to move out!

hubbi & i ready to move out!

but before that, i have a mini surprise for him! truth is, i got him a card for the occasion but he's supposed to find it based on clues left behind by me. but the husband is really clueless. only after prompting, then did he manage to find the card. *sigh*

the husband trying to decipher the clues based on notes left by me.

yup, he got the card!

we checked into the hotel soon and it feels just like yesterday as we were given a similar suite as our wedding suite. hotel stay always feel good, dont they!?
AND, look what they have! complimentary fruits & MARS choc bars! lolz. nothing big deal, but im a real BIG fan of MARS choc bars & they really turn out to be a nice surprise. :)

ah long lounging at the living area

the husband trying to act cute, as usual

us again!

i like the interior of Pan Pac!

waiting @ the lift lobby. okie, i know i look like a whale here. ha.
in the lift! nice view of the surrounding!

we went to shop around marina sq for the evening. happened to chance upon a gain city roadshow ard the centrestage area of marina sq, where a hourly special saw a 32" Panasonic LCD going at $1,088 (original px: $1,599) with $150 NTUC vouchers & $50 Robinson vouchers thrown in! we were really tempted to buy on the spot but rational us, talked ourselves out of it as we really dont need another tv in our master bedroom since we already have our plasma in the living room.

buying it would really be frivolous. but a good deal is hard to pass. esp, when delivery & set up is FREE. normally, best denki, harvey norman will charge a standard $20+ for such services. so after some phone calls, hubbi actually decided to buy it for his parents, spilting the cost with his brother & sister. i think it's a sweet move as my in-laws dinosaur CRT tv is a little cannot-make-it, ha. and really glad to see a good deal being taken up. :)

dinner was at ministry of food, a jap restaurant at centre stage that serves reasonably priced set meals that taste good too. i swear the yakiniku rice is better than that of waraku! and their desserts are yummy!

hubbi & i shared a yakiniku bento & a sukiyaki beef set meal
i esp. love the desserts!

after which we went walk walk around milenia walk (where all sorts of atas shops can be found there) and then to suntec. in short, i walked and walked till my legs almost fall off. *sobz* but, i bought myself a new skirt! happy! but i NEED it cos im expanding at an alarming rate. lolz.

finally, we made it to our suite in one piece but i was totally sloshed. we spent the night watching comedies showing on HBO & finally snoozed at 2+. very late for my standard! still, im glad of the stay as hubbi & i thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. :)

morning breakfast was continental style which i thought was only so-so. ha. we actually started missing our house after just 1 night away from it. so we checked out earlier before the required time of 1 pm! lolz. now im home sweet home and really, nothing beats lounging around your own couch in your PJs. heh.

can you spot the husband with his just-out-of-bed hair?

oh, truth is, our actual 1 year anniversary is on the 25th! lolz. as i said, we've programmes lined up for this month. now i cant wait for part 3, coming up next sat! but nothing fanciful. more to do with bee bee. bye for now!

EARTHQUAKES = SCARY!

was out with the girls having dinner @ waraku yesterday after work when the husband called to say there has been a 7.9 earthquake at sumatra and he can feel it back at our flat.
for a fleeting moment, i was deeply unsettled and asked him to make his way out of our unit. but hubbi stayed put and seemed to think it's okie.

then, waraku blacked out. not sure if its due to the quake but i got uneasy again. and the stuffy air inside didnt make things any better.

then then, this morning at 7.45am, while lazing at our bed i suddenly feel the bed shaking for like a good few seconds. and to my horror, i saw our hanging bedroom lamps swaying above me. :(

this is the 1st time im feeling the tremors of quake and its really not a good feeling. imagine those who is in the middle of the quake!

hmm, though this is just a small episode and perhaps to many others, nothing to raise a big hoo-haa over. but to me, just suddenly feel how fragile life is.
we should really appreaciate those around us and what we have.
so stop my nonsense, i should!

im in a i-hate-the-world mood today!

*roar* i wonder what rubbed me the WRONG way today! but im secretly pissed with EVERYTHING today.
maybe its the usual bad sleep i've yesterday.
maybe its cos i see the husband and reminded of how i want to pull his hair this morning
maybe its cos my stupid bus took a super long time to come.
maybe its cos today feel like a MONDAY after yesterday's break.
maybe its just a long overdue flare-up from me.

*ROAR*

whatever i hear/read/see make me irritated. i just want to crawl home, armed with a bag of chips, cold milk & the latest magazine. and NO ONE to bother me!

do you feel this way sometimes?
i definitely do! and today is one of those days! :(

1 year anniversary - part 1

september is a special month for hubbi+moi = 1 year anniversary! :) as mentioned earlier, we have planned a series of activities and today is one of them!
we went to see how's bee bee doing in the morning & then k-boxing away in the noon! :)

glad to learnt that bee bee is growing healthily though worrywart me still uncertain about his weight gain rate. hubbi wasn't too concerned for he trusted the "professional advice" alot. bleh.
anyway, i got all interested in newborns' weight and forced him to call my in-laws up to check up hubbi's weight when he's a newborn. im myself was a hefty 3.8kg and my mum secretly hated me for putting her through a long labour.
and GUESS what?! ah long is a horrifying 4.4kg newborn! i was mortified. 他也为免太大了吧!!
so what's your weight when you were a newborn? :)

k-ing away is always fun for me. i love to sing sing sing, no mind if i can hit the notes. it was fun in the beginning when i just sing my heart out & laughed non-stop at ah long's singing.
but irritating him got bored and wanted to cut short the session. i was pissed and he got pissed and we got into a row. *roar*

he can be super irritating at times! anyway, i got hungry and ate my fav. laksa at cuppage centre while he got himself the memory foam pillow that he wanted from john little at a good discount (i know, dont ask me why he's interested in a pillow.).
and we got happier and move on from the unhappy incident.

okie, let's see some rubbish photos taken in the k-box room! *lolz*

updated
(still pissed with him when i think back! he still claim the k-box session is planned specially for me! pui! if so, why cut it short?! think i will pull his hair when i see him tonight!)

spendthrift mum, 1408

there is actually perks when you've a vain & spendthrift mum. mummy actually bought me a Lancome lip gloss! lolz.
she gave it to me this noon when hubbi & i popped over for lunchie. heez, but im glad to have a new gloss! :)

ah long & me went plaza sing to catch "1408" in the late noon. it was more of me pushing him to catch it for horrors of all horrors, my husband is scared of scary movies! *gasp* lolz.
i still remember my last horror show with him. it was " 见鬼" and he was more scared than me. haha.

anyway, have read the book before (1408 was based on a short story by stephen king. can be found in the book "everything eventual") & sad to say, language is still a more effective medium in spreading fear than visuals.
i remember shaken by the book but the show only managed to get a few gasps from me at most.
still, john cusack is good. he's one of the more under-rated actors in hollywood to me. the man can act, albeit getting plumper over the years.

go catch it if you have not read the book. at least you wont be as disappointed as me.

lazy, crumpler & bird nest treat

my energy level is definitely getting low. totally dont feel like going out at all today. on a saturday, moreover! sooo unlike me.
and i plain refused to help out with any housework chores this morning. i just dont have the strength to do any. its a good thing hubbi didnt raise a racket. heh.
so poor him went on to iron clothes, vacumn/mop floor etc himself. he even made his own way to city hall to get a small dent out from our jazzy and ta-bao long john back for me. lolz.
thanks, bb! i really appreciate this!

finally, at 5+, i decide to move my ass and prepare to go out for some food + walk walk.

my wonderful hubbi + moi!

we went town again and spent some happy time browsing luxury/griffin goods! lolz. our obsession = watches & bags!!

anyway, i did NO shopping today. which is a good thing for i really need to lie low for this month. no thanks to the spending spree last mth. :P
the husband made himself happy though. he got himself a crumpler bag which he has been eyeing for the longest time. i chose the color for him.

see, nice?

after that, we went to my in-law house for some yummy bird nest again. *heez* this time round, the rock sugar is just enough. :)
okie, going to eat mooncakes!! on my way to becoming F-A-T! :P

Friday, September 07, 2007

im totally pooped!

just an hour or so walking around town has totally drained me.
damn. think before long, i can only make a beeline for home after work everyday & spend the weekend resting at home. bah!

soooo tired. i need a leg massage. should get the husband to give me one after his bath. need to prevent legs from cramping up!

anyway, we went to the taka mooncake fair after work today. not alot of selection, i feel. where is my marriott durian snow skin mooncakes?! hmph.
in the end, we bought a selection of mini snow skin mooncakes (8 pc) from Raffles the plaza. it consists of 4 flavours - champagne with choc truffles, rum & raisin with choc truffles, bailey choco + lychee dark choco. lolz. sound exotic hor?
not sure how the rest taste since we only sample the champagne one.

yawn. hot night = air con blasting in room. i goonna zzz sooN!!

Thursday, September 06, 2007

you know you've a nonchalent husband when

he's totally unfazed/bo chup over what you said.
this is what went over msn just now:

ecookie: i very bored!
ecookie: feel like pulling your hair
ngchunleng: ok, tonight lor

or, maybe as he said last time. if he takes all my words seriously, he'll have gone mad already.

i've recovered! *ROAR*

now... time to enjoy my september! *yipeeyabadoo!*

Monday, September 03, 2007

sick again! after a hiatus of 3 1/2 months, my lousy immune system falls prey to the common cold. bah!
though im counting my blessings this is not something serious like a high fever/asthma relapse, its plain irritating nevertheless!
hopefully, the 2 days MC will help me recover and get me back on track!

just got wind this morning that my boss wont be around for nearly a good o'week somewhere this month. boy, am i glad by this piece of news.

september is really wonderful (other than my dreadful cold!)!

ratatouille, korean BBQ, sick (again!!)

the husband has made a mini windfall from his shares during the week. so irritating! while the one i'm holding on from his recommendation is really going nowhere but south. pui! lolz. whatever, i can only crossed my fingers and hope the dividends payout at year-end is gonna recuperate the paper loss. bleh.

still, he is sweet to organise an outing today for his parents and me. we are going to watch ratatouille & have a sumptious korean BBQ dinner!

hubbi & me before leaving the house

taking yet another shot in the car

we headed to The Cathay to meet my in-laws for the show. ratatouille is a really funny & heartwarming show though i may be harbouring too high a hope for it from all the rave reviews from papers to be overtly delighed by it.
still, i will recommend most people to catch it for its really a nice show with the right amount of heart.

hubbi has always wanted to bring us to tried some authentic korean BBQ but really finding one is not that simple. after doing some research online & asking around, we kinda narrowed down to 2. one in esplanade & one at east cost park.
despite me telling him the esplanade branch seems to enjoy a better food review & supposedly cheaper than the other one, the heatland him refuse to believe that.
pui. so in the end, he made a reservation at the east coast one and we arrived there promptly at ard 7 after the movie.

the decor is surprisingly bare & look like some normal family restaurant. stil, we were kinda comforted by the healthy crowd.
we ordered a mixed variety of meat, namely beef, chicken & pork. oh, and of cos the standard ginseng chicken soup.
when the food comes, i was decidedly excited. korean cuisine fanfare is such that the side dishes are ALOT. so much so that you got excited at trying out so many different type of food even though you'll realise soon that they are either just sour or spicy. lolz.

our many many side dishes

the good thing (at least to me) is the staff will cook for you. i cant stand cooking myself for i always managed to over-cook the meat, making it tough.

some of the meat is really nice, like the seasoned beef/pork. & i find the ginseng chicken meat really tender but the ginseng taste can be stronger. after all, i tried the real thing back at seoul with my mum.

when the bill comes, i really feel that the whole thing is OVERPRICED. true, the food is nice, but really not fantastic & we were actually paying ard $40+ per pax. if only we went to try out the other restaurant at esplanade. im sure even if the price comes up to ard the same or more, we'll be happier for the decor & ambience will surely be nicer than here?

anyway, by evening, im coming down with the sniffles & getting uncomfortable. so sianz. its been a good 3 1/2 months since i last got sick.

see, my nose getting red from me blowing my nose & eyes being bloodshot. not a pretty sight. bah!

but greedy me still suggested going to ben & jerry @ dempsey hill for desserts. so off we go! and we saw james lye, diana ser, ix shen & lee zhiqin there. lolz. not that it matters, really.

now finally back at home and with a worse than ever cold. *sob*
hopefully will recover by tomorrow. i hate being sick!!

end of aug!

wow wow wee! its OFFICIALLY the end of august! how time flies!
im all ready to embrace SEPTEMBER! for its our anniversary month!
ah long+me=1 year soon!
we've plans lined up here and there, somewhat. hope they will all get to play out nicely. :)

work is getting mundane+ routine. not that im complaining for it means my peak period is finally OVER! this week has been particularly slack & i spent > 50% of my time in office counting down to 7pm. lol.
even my boss cant get to me. heh.
BUT, irritating colleagues still do! ooh, im so irritated with people who tell NOT-FUNNY jokes and then laugh at their own jokes. bleh. arg! never mind, not worth mentioning too much in my blog.

3 more weeks to my payday! i can survive! ha, thats another reason why im waiting for sept! ha. no more half-yearly insurance premium (pain in the ass) to pay! *wee*

okie, this is a 蛮pointless 的post. but whatever!

our 11th mth anniversary!

my saturdays are getting very boring. hubbi & i have run out of places to go nowadays.
coupled with me bring broke & easily tiring out, i really am clueless which part of town should we hit. *boo*

anyway, its our 11th mth anniversary today! been caught up with too many events for the past few months that we kinda forget to celebrate our "monthly" anniversary. so, its nice for a change that 25th falls on a saturday this time round for us to spend some time together.

we had a really quiet saturday which suits me just fine too. we left for town late noon for some window shopping. since i'm "prohibited" from any more frivolous shopping, we spent most of the time shopping for hubbi's & bee bee's stuff. :)

after which, dinner was a light one at NYDC & we went to rent a DVD "stranger than fiction" to end the night. :)

okie, some photos!

me fooling ard while hubbi tried to drive the car. *lol*

waiting for our food!

my fav - oven-baked rice!

mudpie dessert... but i much prefer their boo boo cake. really.

mad make up shopping spree!!

i've been on a mad make-up shopping spree for the past few days!!!! im doomed to be a pauper!
the husband has rolled his eyes and decided to wash his hands off me totally.
im not surprised. *guilty stare*

ANYWAY, im still very happy very happy over my stash!
retail therapy is SOOOO good (apart from the part it costs)!! lets see what i've got myself!

(clockwise from top)
1) Powder/Blusher brush from Make Up Store
2) Lip Gloss from Maquillage (a range from shiseido)
3) Highlighting powder form Maquillage
4) Eyelash Electrical curler from Make Up Store
5) Eyepencil from Make Up Store
6) Eyeshadow palette from MAC

i love palette! more variety at more affordable price!
so this "warm colors eyeshadow" palette is a hit with me once i set my eyes upon it!

(from left: eye make-up base, gold, brown, green, grey)

heard from dont-know-who Maquillage range from Shiseido is good since its a hit back in japan too. was glad that i get the highlighting powder.

the 1st 2 shades from left is meant to hightlight the eye area while the last 2 is meant to be swept gently over the T-zone, cheeks, nose, chin (like what you'll do for bronzing powder).
cant wait to try it!

so far i've tried using the brush, eyelash curler, eye shadow palette, eye pencil for today. all have serve me well! *wee*

okie, shall go cold turkey for the next 2 weeks at least when it comes to make up shopping. at least thats what i promised the husband.
AND, maybe the husband hasnt lost all hope on me for he just decided to subsidise part of my mad make-up shopping spree after all! *hiaks*

Wednesday, August 22, 2007

okie, my ass got bitten. my credit card bill came yesterday BUT my pay is only coming in this saturday. *help*
all my whimsical purchases last/early this mth are haunting me now!! i got to pay for novel/food/make-up/skin care/clothes etc. what can i say, im an all-rounder spender. *pui*
still, i've this big aversion of outstanding bill/loan so im gonna dip in my savings and pay first later. *sobbie*

BUT, something to cheer me up. its tangs private sale today! and i think im going after work to do some retail therapy! okie, talk about irony. but whatever!

august is fast coming to an end and im SO looking forward to the month of september! alot of fun activities for the husband and me! for its..... our 1 year anniversary! okie, will update along the way.

okie, back to bleh work!

10 weird/little known facts about yourself

franney tagged me about writing ten weird things or habits or little known facts of yourself so here i am! you can click on link below to see what that girl wrote about herself http://franshaven.blogspot.com/
jean has also updated about hers too!
http://karapahoo.blogspot.com/

okie here goes (though those who know me well like stella the mad will know most of the list below):

1) im a comic addict. i used to collect comics back in schooling days, only finally outgrown them in uni (getting too expensive). i have whole collection of comics like slamdunk, 金田一, 将太的寿师 etc from last time. nowadays, comic reading is limited to rare off-days when i just go to a comic rental shop where u get charged by the hours to read there. or, trips to m'sia for whole sets of new comics at the same price (only in Ringgit!). my last trip to penang, i actually bought 2 sets: deathnote & 流星花园. lolz.

2) im obsessed with ronald cheng last time in sec/jc. yes, that 郑中基! i used to listen to his CDs before sleeping and i collected ALL his CDs/VCDs etc. oh, even newspapaer cuttings! i got this huge-ass file where i kept all the cuttings. lolz.
and i went to canto (my first time to a disco) just to see him perform back in sec 3! kudos to mad ah D and some other friends to accompany me there! but not in vain okie, i got to shake his hand(which i didnt wash for like a day, okie gross)!

3) i like to invent weird/bizarre dance moves or catch phrases and do/say them for alot of times in a period till i move on to other moves/phrases. think my ex dow-team is most familiar with these. some moves like shifting the feet rapidly left/right or shaking the shoulders. catch-phrases like "meg-hair", "ba bee boo" etc. ha, its okie if you dont know what im talking about here.

4) i have a pet peeve. i CANT stanf people suddenly slow down/stopping in front of me. i hate it when im just normally walking along the road then this someone just slow down/stop suddenly in front of me, breaking my momentum. BEST if im about to cross the mrt gantry, then this someone just stop n start fumbling ard looking for his/her ezlink and holding up whoever (including me!) is behind! i always feel an urge to smack their heads which obviously i cant just do that. so my mood got spoilt. bah!

5) the craziest thing i ever did in my life should be the solo trip to tokyo when im 19 years old. i planned the whole trip from scratch & just popped over there alone for 7D6N. solo travelling is great but it really gets lonely. so dun think i'll ever do that again.

6) i took up exotic dancing lessons before! just the basic moves and nothing else. perhaps the class is too big or im just not cut out for it, my friends and i didnt advance to the next level after the 6 lessons we took. anyway, i went home and showed the husband then and he learnt a few moves from me himself which he'll sometimes dance out of nowhere just so we can laugh like mad. lolz.

7) its not a secret to some of my closer friends that i want to be a mum at 18 years old! just so i can live the dream of opening a bottle for my son/daughter at zouk while i lounge at velvet at 36. lolz. what a silly dream. heh.

8) im a closeted SPG. okie, shalt leave at that in case cookie monster eats up me - ecookie.

9) im a worry wart. im not sure how pple see me but i not as optimistic as i seem sometimes. i got paranoid easily, is very pessimistic and think of the worst. trying to change this mentality of mine, succeeding for some areas & still trying for some.

10) though i put that cookie monster down at times in this blog, stating he's boring, down-to-earth, unromantic etc, im actually very emotional attached/dependent on him. that he knows lah. i seldom gush about him in front of friends/family alike but rather talk about him in an aloof way. but truth is, when alone with him, i become this emo person who sticks to him and squeals to him alot. okie, not a pretty sight but hey , you all dont get to see it so just pity him lor. hiaks.

okie, im done!
now i shall tag
-stella
-shirley
-ah D
-GB
-jiemin
-huiting (if you guys are reading my blog that is!)
but on hindsight, some of you may just be lazy to do so.

one year anniversary+make-up shopping spree

one year anniversary
yup, our marriage is reaching the one-year mark sooN! to be precise, its next 25th! :) OKIE,so its stilll a long 1mth+ away, but we (or rather i only lah) are getting excited!
the husband and i have both applied leave on that day. :) i've figured out where to go for lunchie that day but programme for the actual day is still a big blank at the moment.

BUT, hubbi made a wonderful suggestion this noon. he said" let's go karaoke!" lolz. its been something i want to do for a long time but never thought we'll really get around doing that.
when asked why is he so "onz" just now, he said so we can spend some "二人世界“ before bee bee arrives in our lives. heez. *touched*

okie, so we going k-ing away on next 25th. cannot imagine that with ah long hor. hiaks.

oh, and i got my one year-anniversary gift today. haha. very early hor! nowadays, i cannot wear any watch cos my wrists have become fat. so my omega has been sitting sadly alone somewhere in my house. so hubbi suggested that we should get me a new watch! yay. we've been looking around for sometimes & i prefer adidas out of the many mass-market brands.

and today, we found the perfect one! white leather strap somemore (though it'll get dirty very soon)! but i've “看开“already. not knowing how to maintain my watches shant stop me from wearing them. bleh.

nice hor!

of cos, i've been brainstorming what to get for hubbi too. been suggesting alot of options to him but dilly-dally him refuses to give me a clear answer. how irritating.
BUT, finally today he decided on a new wallet! :) a really nice braun baffel wallet.
i could have gotten him today at Tangs but they ran out of the color he wants, so TOO BAD. hehe. the husband sulked a bit when back home but will get for you soon lah!

make-up shopping spree
and im a pauper this month but i blame no one but myself. since my clothes/shoes choices are super limited nowadays, the shopaholic in me turns her attention to bags/cosmetics etc! but some of the items are needs, not wants (in self-justifying tone)!

okie, damage for today:
1) loose powder from paul & joe. heard rave reviews about it so decided to get it today BCOS my shu uemura loose powder is finishing up soon (like for another few applications and no more). the packaging is gorgeous! and it smells v nice too. :) hope it's as good as its pressed powder.
2) brush cleaner gel from bobbi brown. as mentioned earlier, my shu uemura brush lotion has finished and i decided to source for a cheaper alternative. bobbi brown one seems to the answer. though pricing is the same, but gel cleanser is meant to work wirh lukewarm water to cleanse the brushes and can last a longer way. shu uemura is a alcohol cleanser meant to use on its own. it may be good but it gets depleted wayyyyy too fast. NOT economical.

3) okie a impulse purchase: Paul & Joe set comprising a blusher, lippie & eye shimmering cream.
was attracted to the eye shimmering cream in the first place which is a delicious light purple gel-like cream. decided to get that at $39 but the salesgirl mentioned about this set which is only $68! a normal blusher would have cost me $35 already so this set is really a steal. at $68, it seems like im getting a free lippie (which cost ard $30+ on its own), some discount off the blusher & a free make-up pouch!

and the best thing is i get to choose the blusher & lippie shades as well. so its not like a fixed set where you cant decide the colors. a good buy, no?

and the suprises never end here. for i spent more than $100 at paul & joe, i was given the choice to select a free gift (either umbrella, bag (not nice) or a jewellery box)!
and jewellery box i chose. see, its super nice! okie, im a sucker for free stuff. :P

sigh, all these will come bite me in my ass come next month when the bill arrives. *shivers* meantime, i shall just start using them first in denial.

okie, getting late. i gotta go squeeze in another episode of "Heros" before zzzing.
shalt end this post with a pix of a me + a (reluctant) hubbi.

NDP 2007

okie, my 9th aug has nothing to do with NDP at all. im a closeted patriot, okie! so i dont need to show my love for my country through any actions. :P

ANYWAY, today is MJ day! went to grace's house at noon for a good 6 hours of MJ with zm, ser & her! and im in luckie today for 我一家赢三家, okie?!
*hiaks*
not alot of winnings for we always play small small only, so i won myself a modest winning of abt $40. *wee*

hubbi came to fetch me ard 6+ and we headed to town for dinner & some shopping. nothing much to buy though everywhere is screaming NDP sale. after which, we went to hubbi's mum house for bird nest! *yay* my MIL cooked bird nest for us, yummy! though i think its not so sweet this time round, should have use more rock sugar, heh.

now finally back at home. waiting for laundry to be done & feeling lethargic as always.
BUT, there's always time for another episode of "HEROS"! im now super hooked on this tv serial!

okie, got to go bath now!

my modest modest collection of make-up

what to do after a lazy sunday brunch at tiong bahru market? you clean/tidy up your make-up collection of course!
okie, at least that's what i just did.

i realised i've a very modest collection of make-up. which suits me by the way, since i rarely put on make-up during weekdays (only during weekends) & make-up can really be an expensive affair. my advice to anyone: get yourself a good consistent collection that serves you well for a long time will be a good investment!

side note: for those who loves to collect make-up just because is another story altogether. my friend, shirley is one such person. her make-up collection can shock even the most strong-hearted. lolz.
dun believe? see her collection for yourself! "http://blythylively.blogspot.com/2007/04/my-cosmetics-collection.html"

okie, back to MOI modest collection:
face powder & alike-
i use my trusty shu uemura loose powder for everyday use. not much coverage but i like the light feeling it gives. like won't clog your pores. ha. paul & joe pressed powder is a latest addition recommended by shirley. nice coverage and it contains some subtle shiny particles that works well under indoor lighting.
dior pressed powder is kinda wrong purchase. the color was too fair for me but coverage is flawless. really good for a night outing. the elizabeth arden bronzing powder is a gift from nelly the sweet. i like to use it for a good date cos it gives you a sun-kissed look though too much of it just make me orangey. ha.

(from top in clockwise direction: shu uemura loose powder;dior 2 way cake foundation;paul & joe pressed powder;elizabeth arden bronzing powder)

for the eyes-
eyelash curler - i used to use shu uemura but realise shiseido seems to work better for me so i switched. my lashes are not short but really sparse. sigh. on top of small eyes, why am i plagued with sparse lashes! but on second thoughts, small eyes with lotsa lashes look wrong too. lolz.

not a mascara person cos really hate the part about removing it. and i use mascara like once a week (which is like saturday only) so i just anyhow switch from brand to brand from dun know when. currently using maybelline which is normal lor. aiyah, lashes too little to tell the difference lah.

shu uemura & mac eyeliners: while people have natural lower lash to line their eyes, i need eyepencil to line my eyes. *geez*
yet to use MAC but hope its good! liquid eyeliner is no-no for me. just dont have the steady hands for it.

(from top to bottom: shiseido eyelash curler;maybelline voluminising mascara;MAC & shu uemura retractable pencil eye liners.)

colors!-
eye colors: i've a very modest range of eye colors namely:
-2 eye make-up base: 1 matt, 1 shimmery
-5 eye make up colors: green, pink, purple, brown, black (which double up as eyeliner with the right eye brush)
stila eye shadows are really good. good lasting power & u can use it wet/dry for varying effects.
same goes for its blusher!

for blusher: i have 2 stila, 1MAC & 1 cats cosmetics
(you can check out cats cosmectics more at "http://www.catcosmetics.com/" i bought quite a bit online last time. the color & quality is good but purchase via shipping is quite a hassel so i stopped doing so)

lip color: im not a big fan of having color on lips as i've really dry lips and my natural lip color is rosy enough so i normally dab on vaseline and go.
that explains my limited 2 lip glosses: plum & pink (with champagne gold to give it a tint) which i seldom use too.

1) top left palette from stila (clockwise): black eyeshadow, green eyeshadow,blusher1,blusher2,matt eye make-up base, purple eyeshadow
2) top right palette from cats cosmetic(clockwise):plum lip gloss, shimmery eye-make-up base, blusher, bronzing powder, pink eyeshadow (from stila- no place in palatte one!),brown eyeshadow
3) MAC blusher
4) shu uemura blusher brush
5) cats cosmetic pink/champagne lip glossie

brushes & maintenance-
brushes: nothing beats a good blusher brush! i recommend shu uemura brushes as theirs are made of the finest pony/horse hair which are soft (not scratchy) and blend the colors well on the cheeks!
i've one from shu uemura (model 20H) which is good for highlighting as well as brushing on blusher/bronzing powder alike! for eye brush, i found that stila one is good for dabbing on and spreading evenly. these 2 brushes are good for me already.

though cleaning them requires a commitment which i fail to show. hiaks. i using shu uemura brush cleaner currently but its pricey & i used up the last bit this morning when cleaning up my brushes. anyone with good recommendations for effective, affordale brush cleaner?

okie, i cant believe all the shit above about make-up.
till my passion for them fade away again. tata!

neoprints, make up, PS cafe

neoprints-been ages!
hubbi suggested taking neo-prints today. i was more than mildly surprised. he who thinks that neo-prints are meaningless & expensive! anyway, i was game for that ANYTIME. *heez*
he said that we should have some pictures of me now. aww, sweet!
so today's outfit must be nicer lah, hehe.
see, i got myself a new top last weekend and it came in handy today! :)

me in nice nice green tube top

hubbi "asked" to take pix with moi as usual.

we went far east plaza to take the newprints and i love the results! its been ages since we last took one in Nov 05!! must get hubbi to scan soon. neoprints hardly last long before fading. hmm.

the husband loves taking neoprints too. wahaha.

make up
im a spendthrift. i bought a book (Jostein Gaarder - The Christmas Mystery, and yes he's the one who wrote "Sophie's World) yesterday and i spent some more on make up today when i should be curbing my expenditure for this mth. bleh.

but tell me, who can resist stila & MAC! i bought another blusher from stila. currently, i have 3 blushers - 1 from stila, 1 from MAC & 1 from cat cosmetics (dun think most of you will know as the brand is avail overseas and i got it online from last time). ANYWAY, my point is, stila blusher is good and the one i have is depleting soon. so i got myself another new one today. *wee*

MAC pencil liner is a whim purchase. i have a shu uemura one currently but the staying powder is not that good & application not that even. to think that it costs more than MAC! will try this MAC eyepencil soon and hope it'll serves me better!
i love make up once more. i stopped for half a year or so due to my breakout last time. but now, im working on it again> :) hope my skin remains under control - *fingers crossed*

PS Cafe
as mentioned earlier in my previous blog, my company paid us all an one-off $500 cash bonus in july due to consistent good company results for the first 6 mths of this year.
i decided to give hubbi a good nice treat!
and PS cafe that is! its at dempsey hill area by the way. reservations is a must for weekend dinner and i made it early this week. :)

waiting for our food!

nice decor & ambience

we ordered flamed prawns (which is just tiger prawns pasta) for hubbi & roasted pork for me!
the food is nice but kinda pricey i feel. *bleh* maybe im not accustomed to paying for meals between us. *lolz*

dessert was some fudgy brownie. too sweet for us and we didnt finish it. what a waste.
but still, the experience was a nice one and i think the husband like the treat.
and thats enough!

now back at home, we were really beat. ah long was lazing on the sofa, half asleep.
okie, time to snooze again. saturday, gone again!

who needs choices when you have the moolahs!

but sadly, i have none of that. so choices i have to make!
fallen in love with yet another automatic omega watch. the ladies' speedmaster range!
so tell me, which one below is the nicest!? the whole range have other colors like orange/blue etc but i've narrowed down to these 3.
Personally, i like the white the most, but knowing me i will NOT do justice to the white leather strap. eeks, think it'll get stained in less than 3 mths. *bleh*

pink is sweet but abit hard to match. red seems like a wiser choice. *hmm*

im totally at a loss.
lolz. i love to trouble myself with such silly choices, even though its quite impossible for me to get one in the near future. hiaks.
one of the above will cost me a whopping $9k+ even after the usual omega discount.
NINE FREAKING K.

i DO have another choice. the same design but MINUS the circle of diamonds around the dial.
ha, so its the diamonds that cost afterall. bleh.
without them, the watch is so much more affordable at $3k+. $6k difference for the diamonds!!! according to the retail salesman , the diamonds round up to around an carat.
now i see why.
but without the diamonds, abit plain hor. just another sporty watch. but still got the mother of pearl dial lah. im a sucker for that!

i need to have something to look forward to for my AWS come december. hmm...
but yet again, i can always buy a LV bag instead of the bling above.
afterall, it'll cost me only half of a watch!

as i said, who needs choices when you have the moolahs!!

1st week of the final lap!

finally im in the 1st week of the final lap.
though the final lap is not exactly short & gonna make me all the more tedious & grouchy, but im definitely decidedly excited.
hubbi & i were chatting about it and we are both looking forward (anxious but still anticipating) to a new phase of our life!
*grinz*

my nephew - cute 到爆!

i've the smartest nephew in the world!! wise beyond his age of 28mths!
hubbi & i were around his house area yesterday for something. so we lent our car to hubbi's brother & family to use for a good 2 hrs+.
so the following conversation in his hse:

me: you want daddy to drive 叔叔's car?
jusjus: yesh.
me: so where will you sit when daddy's driving?
jusjus: at the back.
me: with who?
jusjus: with mummy.
hubbi: you want to drive 叔叔's car?
jusjus: no,no,no (shaking head with a smile)
hubbi: why jusjus cannot drive?
