catching up on good shows recently.
1) Harvey milk
how can i resist sean penn?! not after his all-out retard performance in "i am sam" of course.
heh. thats like my fav show for that year.
so with hb not using the car and baby @ my mum's, me ventured out to vivo for some screen time alone.
hiaks.
been ages since i last caught a show myself. and i still stand by the notion that some films are better watch alone.
milk being neither, though.
its a tad long and slow but given its premise of "based on true events", its hardly surprising.
in short, milk is the 1st openly gay elected official as the supervisor of San francisco back in mid-1970s. more on the show: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1013753/
great performances tuned in by the leading and supporting cast. esp. James Franco.
lil' green goblin has certainly came a long way. :)
2) lars and the real girl
finally managed to see it at home with the husband yesternight.
despite having no subtitles! *horror of all horrors*
but i watched milk without too. ha.
a really interesting show and ryan gosling is really good!
but his good looks from the notebook is gone. so sad.
anyway the show is one enjoyable ride as you see how the whole town play-along with lars and his real girl, bianca. up till the point lars decided to let bianca die.
funny and touching at points. an understated gem of a show. :)
3) 2009 movies i want to catch so far after seeing MANY trailers
- Revolutionary road
- Doubt
- The curious case of Benjamin Button
- Slumdog millionaire
- The Wrestler
- Valkyrie
what about you?
