Photo Montage

attended a wedding yesterday. the couple showed a conventional montage before their first march-in. those cliche slides depicting the couples from babies-to-schooling-to-when they first get-together-to-their dating period-to now.

but what's special next was: they showed another montage before their second march-in. one that summarised the morning's events of gate crashing-to-tea ceramony-to-photo-taking-to-arrival at hotel. i found this extremely interesting and want the same for my own one too!

but hmm...it'll involve a lot of hard work leh. ah long's friend actually spend the whole noon putting together the montage for the couple despite waking up freaking early yestarday at 6am. when all the other brothers are all busy catching some snooze-time.

maybe i can get him to do the same for me on my actual day. *lol*

photo montage is a pain-in-the-ass! we've to scan photos, select songs and figure out a way to put them together in flash format!! can any kind souls figure out how to do that and do this great favour for us???! *sigh* i guess not. *bleh*

anyway, i'm definitely going to add in the below pix...one that shows how scared ah long is when it comes to kangaroos.

as opposed to the cool collected me: :)

Intro!

After a long long dating period of 3 1/2 years, my dear dear finally proposed to me on 27th August 2005! It doesn't come as much of a surprise to me as I'm already aware that the ring has been brought. *lol* How do I come to know? That's because I've specifically "advised" him on the size, color, cutting and clarity of the ring! Aiyah, but those who knows me well will know this is typical of me, :P

Anyway, we've been busy with preparations for our wedding ever since then. All because of the date -25th Sept 2006- is an auspicious one. No thanks to my feng ma ("as quoted from lao zhe and confirmed by ah d")!

Just an update for everyone on our preparations so far:

Wedding Banquet
We've booked Pan PAcific for our banquet.

Our first choice was actually intercontinental as recommended by some of my friends who quote the delicious food and nice decor as its plus points. Sadly, our date was already booked by another couple, all thanks to a stupid co-ordinator who f**ed up our requests. Grr..sigh let's leave the negative matters behind.

So Pan Pac it is! I've been there once for a wedding and the food is nice. The only drawback is that my min. tables cannot reach 35, hence my banquet will be held at the ocean ballroom instead of the grand ballroom. Ocean ballroom has lower ceiling but good thing is that the overall ambience will be a cosy one. :)

Bridal Boutique
We've signed up with Flamingo bridal! For the whole of Oct, we've been visiting bridal boutiques during the weekend non-stop! We've visited around 11-12 before ah long really cannot take it. Ha. Actually decision for most things lie on me, his only concern is not to burst the budget. bleh~

Actually Flamingo is not our (or rather my) top choice. I actually prefer Divine Couture so much more. But Divine's pricing is too atrocious. without photography and accessories, it's already 4k! I can still take it but that'll mean compromising on my photography's budget.

Flamingo is actually not part of the bridal list that i've shortlisted for the gowns shown in its website is not at all impressive. Check out the link below!

I should let Shirley (the designer) know and get her to update her website soon! ha. However, after persuasion from my colleague to give it a try (her sis engaged Flamingo for her wedding last year), i'm glad to say i fall in love with Flamingo! The gowns in the shop is so much more nicer (than those featured in the website) and when I tried those off the rack (OTR) ones, the cutting is really nice. and Shirely is another plus point. she's very easy to talk to and she's able to conceptualize and sketch out my "ideal" gown design on paper just like that from my lousy communication..*lol~*

anyway, deposit been paid and i'm meeting Flamingo mid-Dec to design my wedding gown (WG) & evening gown (EG)! can't wait for that day to come soon! meantime, research more on designs i will!

Studio/Outdoor Photography
We've signed up with Utopia (http://www.utopiaphotography.com/) last Thursday! One of the plus point of signing up with Flamingo is that I do not have to compromise with my photography. Yay!

We've fixed the photoshoot (PS) date to be next early June. So that Utopia will have ample time to devolope our album in time for the banquet. I trust in Travis's (photographer) skills but i'm worried dear dear will screw up the PS with his nonchalent and so-not-natural smile. ha. maybe im the one who'll screw up? who knows?

Actual Day (AD) Photography
We didn't source too long for AD photographer when we decided to settle on Derrick.
http://www.derrick-ong.com/

Have read about good comments about his works in online forums and when we met up, found that he's very chatty and friendly (very important! photographer need to click with ah long for he's very slow to warm up!). The sample works he brought along is quite good too.

So yup, thats about all! will update this space whenever there is new developments to our planning!

so watch out for this space!
