another busy day of leave

was on leave yesterday and again flurry of activities planned.
time is so precious to me that i must mapped out the itinerary well so that no time is being wasted!

9am: breakfast with hubbi @ his workplace area

915am: adios to him and made my way slowly to other side of town.

930am: borders is the only place opened at this timing so spent 30mins in it flipping magazines.

10am: cheong-ed to liat tower's zara!
bought 1 harem pants, 1 denim leggings & 1 pair of leopard print (yummy!) flats.

11am: body scrub & massage @ delfi. end of my package and i'm not renewing it.
really no time for such sessions. already trying to squeeze time for my gym & facial sessions during normal time!

1245pm: cheong-ed to centrepoint for hair appointment. smartie (lazy?) me took bus there from delfi. wahaha.

1pm: undecided between soft-straightening & perm. in the end, decided to perm my hair since i've never done it before!!
now i really salute those women with permed hair. i find it much more of a hassle to maintain than straight hair. @_@
oh well, just got to be diligent in putting wax/lotion every morning...

me with my new hairdo..

415pm: finally done with my hair after 3hrs+...
rushed to yz's cc to pick him up and again, mad-rush to tiong bahru.

5pm: we caught "alpha & omega"! the story is so simple and cliche that i found it a waste of $.
but becos its so simple, yz was able to understand it fairly easy and he did enjoyed the show.
oh well, i paid for 1 tix anyway...

7pm: home sweet home. and housework chores await me. :(
hubbi was out for dinner with his friends. so admist entertaining the elder boy, i had to do the laundry, fold the previous laundry clothings, wash milk bottles etc.

a packed day for me. but just the way i like it!

caught 2 movies last week.
"the girl who played with fire" does not live up to the first installment.
nontheless, it was a good thriller on its own.
this time round, i've read the book before the film and it didnt disappoint me.
which is very rare for films translated from novels.

as expected, the director/scriptwriter amended quite a few details of the book to fit the plot into a 120mins show.
surprisingly, the changes were good and it actually made the film a wee bit more logical/credible than the book!

watched "wall street: money never sleeps" as well.
been reading how the first walll street is good and how excellant douglas's acting is in it.
after watching walll street 2 can only say that:
1) michael douglas's acting is really good but josh brolin is the one who really impressed me in this show
2) plot is uninspiring and the ending is so cliche and uninteresting
ok thats about it for wall street. wahahaha.

will be on leave on wednesday. i should be bringing yz to watch "alpha & omega".
sometimes, cartoons are much better than those so-called heavyweight dramas....

happy 4 years anniversary to my dear wormy!

me and the love of my life.
whose face is incidentally getting more and more squarish. wahaha.

4 years back, i got married to the man i love most in my life.
flash forward 4 years to today, i share my love for him with 2 other little men.
life really is an amazing thing.
and marriage, this on-going journey, is still something im trying to get used to.

and yes, hubbi is also my dear wormy.
its my nick for him until yz came along and we gave the nick to yz. LOL.

our anniversary date falls on a saturday this time round but we cant go on a couple date as its hard for childcare arrangement for the 2 rascals.
we decided to bring yz out with us instead.
hubbi initially came up with some plan which involves a duck tour and dinner at some place.

but the ng family stayed home for whole of today.
why? cos both the sons are sick. :(
yr is recovering well but yz is suddenly down with a nasty cough.
really hope they can recover fast fast.
health & joy are really the best way to celebrate.

still, the husband managed to put a smile to my face.
he woke me up to wish me a happy 25th (!?) anniversary yesterday after midnight.
the blur sleepy man was all mixed up! we were married on the 25th but only for 4 years!!
madness. hahaha.

and im now wearing a tee, which is one-half of a couple set.
when he saw what im wearing, he went searching for his piece and wore it after bathing.
hahaha.

still, i told him he has to make up the anni dinner to me at a later time.
hehehe.

good skin is hard to come by, and harder to maintain!

a girl has to buy what she needs (wants?) to buy.
and this time round, damage is more on skincare.

i've been trying to cut down on buying clothes as most of you would have known by now, sale season is over!
*Sob*
anyway, thought i would spent a bomb at perth.
thought wrong, also good lah.
only managed to buy 1 top & 1 skirt from Forever New & 1 top from Sportsgirl.
back in sg, bought a pair of shoes & 1 skirt (in felt camel, the best fall color!) from Zara. :)

for skincare/make-up, really spent a bomb this month.
hope they can save my aging face!!
- 2 V10 serums - Vitamin A & hydraulic acid. hope i can have good glowy skin like Fann Wong. wahahaha.
- neck cream from sisley
- loose powder from sisley (stock-up. now still using my trusty chanel.)
- eye-pencil & lip gloss from chanel. im always buying lip gloss but i wear them like once a month? @_@
should start using glosses more often!

for reading, i made the mistake of skipping "eat pray love" first and started on the millenium series.
im already done with "the girl with the dragon tattoo" & "the girl who played with fire" and now onto "the girl who kicked the hornet nest".
sigh. now madly in love with lisbeth salander and soooooo sad that im gonna finish the book soon.
the author has passed away so no more millenium and salander for me. *SOB*
i hate it when i've to come to the end of a good book. :(

my to-read-books stack is getting lower (left with 5 books only!).
im getting restless again.
any recommendations so i can go buy some new ones to keep my stack high?!

feeling the stretch...............

with one more kid into the equation, suddenly my life is getting harder to manage.
last time with yz, whenever i have to run my own errands, catch up with my friends or just a simple two-of-us date with the husband, i can just simply get my mum's to babysit him for a few hours or overnight.
now with yr, its getting harder to plan my activities.

my mum can only handle 1 boy at a time (for now at least) and so i need to get the husband's help to babysit the other boy while im out or to bring along 1 boy myself for outings.
most of the time, i'll bring either yz/yr along to my outings with friends/when im out running errands.
yes, its more tiring to handle the boys especially when they are cranky outside alone.
yes, i cant stay out as late as i like due to their sleeping timing.
yes, i cant be as engrossed in the conversations with my friends.
yes, i need to map out the commuting plan be it just a simple route from one shopping mall to another due to lugging a strolller with me.

but for all the above, i endured and push on because:
i love my boys, i dont mind either of them tagging along even when they drive me up the wall at times.
i love my friends and think the meet-ups are excellent way of staying in touch with each other.
i love to be out running errands and getting things done.

i've not even started on those outings where i need to be alone, free of 2 boys!
like facial, catching a movie, late night meet-ups with friends etc
hence, you can imagine everytime im due to go out sans the husband, childcare arrangement is a nightmare.
actually, only the husband is the nightmare.
my mum is always very kind to help babysit any of the boy anytime, maybe with just that teeny wee bit of grumbles. :P

but this ah long is never a big fan of me going out so frequently.
as he put it, i have super "花脚" aka flowery legs.
last time when i go out, at least i leave yz with my mum so he's free to do his own stuff outside/at home too.
now, he's stuck with babysitting 1 of the boys when im out, especially on weekdays where we dont have the habit of sending the boys to my mum's place due to distance.

i always tell him that i will help to take care of the boys if he's out with his friends.
but of cos, the # of times he does so pale so much in comparison to me. :(

sigh, so the husband aint very happy whenever im out "rendezvousing".
and im stressed and unhappy now too that i cant juggle the different roles in my life well too.
i know sacrifices is a must in marriage and motherhood.
but how much is enough?
the line must be drawn somewhere where hard feelings are minimized.

i can only continue my trial and error with being a "juggler". :(
and of cos, waiting patiently for my boys to grow up so things will fall in place easier.
jia you, ecookie!

its huishan's wedding dinner @ intercon tonight!
again, a mad rush for me as i met up with the girls for lunch with yr.
then drove home for yr's milk feed as well as to freshen myself up before the ng family moved out to bugis again. *sweat*

hubbi brought yz for a haircut.. abit messy for me.
he looks like those potato plant with lotsa hair on top of his head.. ha

as usual, camwhoring a wee bit with the boys while waiting for hubbi to get the car:
tried not to carry yr much in order not to crumple my outfit. :P

we spent some time in bugis and its really hard to look after 2 boys in my heels even with the help of hubbi!!
so glad to rest my feet abit when hubbi and yz had their early dinner. *Phwee*

no one can snatch my mummy away from me! *growl* LOL

hubbi went back with peanut while yz went to the dinner with me.
luckily yz stayed relatively guai and didnt give me much trouble.
i've so much fun catching up with my fav. dow team!
its been a long while since i last saw them!!
and we've known each other for almost 8 years! *gasp*
we are really getting old. wahahah.
and all of us were so surprised by nelly's presence!! she has came back to sg for good from NYC!
it seems like yesterday when we sent her at the airport with sniffles 4 years back!

gerry, jean, nelly & me. frances, you were missed!

with my mini bf. and a 不知所谓 nelly behind us. LOL.

it was almost 11pm when we reached home and the poor boy just K.O.ed on his bed after his milk feed.
it has been a nice catching-up with my friends! :)

BIRTH.DAYS

my lil' peanut turns 8m old today! :)
there is no jab scheduled for this month, hence no visit to PD.
though the fiery temper stays, he is definitely becoming more and more fun to be with.
as i told many, hes really angelic by day and terror by night. hehe.

nowadays, he will stretch out his hands wide and make fake crying/shouting sounds to indicate his want to be carried by us.
he can sit steadily and play with his toys for extended period, provided that we are within his sight.
this boy still has bad separation anxiety, just like gor gor at the same age.
he can recognised and remember the position of certain objects like our wedding portrait/clock/ladybirds on the playmat and will search for them when prompted by us.
cant wait for him to learn to how to point and we can play this game better.
he is starting to bully yz too! whatever toys yz is playing, he will crawl (yes he can in commando style) towards gor gor and snatch the toy away!
or when yz is drinking his milk on sofa/playmat, he will crawl towards yz and start pulling his hair/slapping his face.
tsk tsk.

so what at 8m old, the lil' terror is still not sleeping through the night but waking up without fail at 4/5am crying for milk.
so long he stays healthy and happy, im (trying) not complaining.

little peanut!

also on today, we are going to oct'07 babies 3yo bday bash at modesto @ vivo!
so the ng family moved out to vivo in the noon after peanut woke up from his morning nap at 12pm..

funny pix w the elder son

the ng family

some pictures!

the berry nice bday cake for the kiddos. thank emily for helping us to get the cake! :)

everyone took turn to take photo with the cake

yz attempting to blow out the candle....

it was almost 4pm when we were back at home and the babies are all settled for their naps.
as the husband drifted to dreamland with the kids, poor me has to dash out for my facial appointment.
oh well, managed to sneak some shut-eye during mask-time and then its mad rush back home for dinner.

so this is my saturday.
seemingly simple but was anything but relaxing.

baby disco & packing up!

post updates on baby disco!
brought yz to baby disco held at DXO @ esplanade 2 weeks back.
i was thinking that i would have a lovely time boogie-ing with fellow mummies to hot tunes with our tots.
thought wrong.
the timing is from 12-3pm and that is actually most of the kiddos' nap time.
so as the time passed, they got crankier. @_@
and as usual, yz took super long to warm up to the crowd.
so i reckon the time he really dance in the dancefloor is about 10mins max. hahahaha.

still, a good experience lah.
maybe when he's bigger he'll enjoy the activity more.
we did have our good times still: him with the food there and me, the catching-up with the mummies! :)

not-yet-warmed-up yz & me

enjoying his tea break

now im having some rare time alone in front of the PC cos all the 3 worms of the ng family are all zzz-ing away!
ahhh...peace.
i've since wolfed down 1 snowskin durian mooncake and done some more packing.
yup, hubbi, yz and me are flying off to down under tonight!!
hope yr will be guai guai at my mum's place.
im gonna miss him when we are away!
packing almost done.
time to relax abit for the rest of the day....

the boys in our luggage case in the morning

weekends are so fun yet tiring!
maybe its time for us to veg at home for one saturday or two soon....
still we managed to get things done/bought, planned or unplanned this weekend!

1) hubbi went to install front sensors for our civic.
he thinks its best for us to do so after my knock on the bumper in the multi-storey carpark end last month. :(
yah lah, its more for my sake. bleh.
now he kept on ribbing me saying can i handle my dream car which is a much bigger sedan than our current one. pui!

2) met up with jm, huiwen & shirley @ marmalade pantry @ ion for lunch with yr in tow.
lil' peanut promptly fell asleep for his nap leaving me to have my lunch in peace for the next 1hr+. :)
this is my 1st time there and i found the food over-priced.
food was really quite nice but for that kinda price, i rather head to wild honey.
had fun yakking with the girls! :)

tada! return of the infamous leggings.
even the prada sales assistant said his mummy has good fashion sense ok!

let him wear the most "in" animal prints leggings. wahahah.

3) bought a mattress for yz!
been procastinating for the longest time cos hubbi kept lamenting no space to fit in our room.
got him one with pocketed spring. hopefully it will last him for the next 5 years or more!
delivery will be on tuesday and we've also gotten him a cute pooh bedsheet set, chosen by none other than himself! haha.

4) we bought a new camera! our existing canon ixus has served us very well for the past 5 years but its color quality is getting alittle faded and battery life getting crankier.
and of cos, i was very tempted by all the new features of a new camera:
higher megapixel, faster shutter speed, wide angle lens etc etc.
so we settled for a mid-range digital camera - Panasonic Lumix FX 68.
of cos the newer TZ10 is much more appealing but it would cost us another $250 more.
upon consideration, dear dear and me feel that FX68 would serve us just as well. :)

5) birthday pressie settled for yz!
as some of my friends would know, ah long and me seldom indulge in buying toys for yz.
books is the only thing that I would buy for him on a consistent basis.
the only toys we are really approving of are lego sets! i've grown up playing with lego and i feel its a good toy to allow the kiddos to explore their creativity and imagination.
and yz has shown us that he can play with his lego sets by himself/with us for extended periods.
he will even build his own models and weave a story on how the people/animals are functioning.
its really entertaining seeing him at "work".

to date, yz has 4 lego sets:
1) a farmhouse set which is his bday prezzie from my auntie for his 1yo bday
2) a thomas and friend train set which is his bday prezzie from my mum for his 2yo bday
3) a zoo set which is yr's "gift" to him when i gave birth to didi
4) a zoo extension set which is from us to him for no reason

as above, you can see that yz seldom expect toys to be given to him for no apparant reason.
there is always some sort of occasions before he has some exciting new toys.
as such, he will never fuss/whine for us to buy him toys when we visit departmental stores and i intend to extend this mentality with him to didi as well.

the boy really love lego!
he will walk round "choosing" his set but never insisting to buy
so we will have a good idea which set is the one that he really want cos that will be the one he repeatedly go to whenever we go to a lego/toy store!

as taka having a 3days special 20% sale on lego, we bought for him a huge ass farm barn lego set on sunday. :)
now its sitting quietly in our storeroom, waiting to surprise yz on his bday next month! :)

6) mooncake festival is here again!!
its really scary how time flies and the festives are re-appearing before you know it.
as usual, im on my hunt for the best durian mooncake.
so far, i've sample-tasted a few brands at taka mooncake fair and bought home D24 snowskin durian from home's favourites! i've eaten 1 mooncake each for the past 2 nights. *gulp*
2 more to go then i can go and buy new ones! *muhaha*
im thinking of getting:
1) pandan mao shan wang snowskin mooncake from peony jade
2) D24 snowskin mooncake from four seasons
*
yay*

we got for my mum the traditional white lotus paste w/single yolk from shangri-la.
though the packaging seems so-so and dear insisted that its abit over-priced, we feel that the mooncake is really tasty!
the lotus paste is smooth and the salted egg is of good texture and not blended like some brands. *yumyum*

yah, we accomplished the above in 1 weekend.
no wonder i felt more burnt out than relaxed. @_@
cant wait for our long-awaited holiday to come this friday! :))

Friday, September 03, 2010

TGIF!

its friday! and my closing is finally tapering off!
and for once, i dont have to work OT for my WD3! *yippee*
can go off on the dot.
flying to fetch yz from my mum's place and get ready to spend a good weekend with the 2 boys.
they are really one of my greatest source of happiness nowadays! :)

mum borrowed a walker from her friend for yr.
yz insisted on sitting in it once he saw didi in it. @_@
and he really zoomed in it for a good 15mins at least while my mum fed him dinner yesterday.
siao bo?
anyway, yr is a natural in walker! placed him in the morning and he can zoom in all directions by the afternoon. wahahha.
mobility is such a big deal for babies so he's really happy in it!

my little bao looking more and more grown up!
playing with his gor gor's sword in his absence.
if yz knows, will surely throw a fit, that petty boy!

random updates

august is a bad month for the ng family!
all of us take turn to fall sick. pui!
1st its yz having runny nose & mild cough. then didi also kena from him.
yz went on to recover in a week time but yr's cough lingered on as this is the 1st time he's down with common cold/cough.
after 1 week+, cough worsens and PD mentioned it might develope to bronchitis if we are not careful! so meds were changed.
finally after almost 2 weeks, yr is well on his way to recovery.
THEN, yz started to develope bad runny nose again, resulting in backflow of mucus to form phlegm in his throat.
this leads to him viomitting a few times last saturday.
luckily he seems to be much better on sunday already.

THEN THEN, its my turn to fall sick early this week. :(
i was down with flu while the husband got runny stools and poor him has to go home halfway from work to see doc.
fetched the elder son from childcare and seems like he got runny stools too.
but his case is much milder than papa.
really hope the ng's family's "luck" with viruses will run out soon!! *grr*

counting down to our perth trip end of next week!!
though i think i will miss my little 包 tons.
but i know he's in the good hands of my mummy! :)

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

oh, the husband was actually away on a 5days work trip at end of august.
im pretty impressed with myself for coping with the kids without him.
with the help of my mummy of cos!
as a result i got to spend 2 nights each with each of the little terrors and managed to have some bonding time with them...
hubbi asked me what would i want him to get for me from the airport/delhi.
scared that he would buy the wrong skincare products from dfs/wat to buy?! from india, i told him no need to get me anything.
in the end, he still managed to gimme a surprise- he bought for me the millenium trilogy by Stieg Larsson!
- the girl with the dragon tattoo
- the girl who played with fire
- the girl who kicked the hornets' nest
i feel touched as he still bother to get me something and these books are really what i wanted to have! :)
