cousin's wedding @ grand copthorne

it was my cousin's wedding at grand copthorne yesterday
and the whole ng family went!

i was abit jittery for this will be the 1st time im bringing yr to a wedding and it will be way past his usual bedtime of 8+pm!
i only start bringing yz to wedding dinners when he was ard 2yo!
so its true that we will be more chin chai when it comes to the second one. :P

luckily, my parents were there and very hands on with helping us to take care of the kids.
yr was practically in my dad's arms for most of the time. ha.
we left early at 10+pm for the kids were visibly tired by then.
once home, both slept within 10mins!
and yr didnt stir till 5+am this morning! wow, he must be really tired!

still, a good experience for my relatives were all there and the food were quite good.
managed to say goodbye to the newly-wed couple before we left too.

anyway, the wedding made me think of my own one 4 years back. :)
it seems just yesterday that hubbi and me went from table to table taking photos with our relatives and friends.
now, we have 2 lovely boys and a stronger (i hope!) relationship.
this is life i guess. cliche sentence: change is the only constant!

Love comes in a dust bag

candice is such a sweetheart to help me get the bag during her europe trip!
when she emailed me that its sold out in berlin, my heart sank.
when she emailed me (again) that she got it @ london (!), i've mixed feelings.
yippee for getting the bag! but wondered if pounds is more ex. than euros?

but, again as life always has been. things work out in the end.
1) she brought it during the week when pounds went down and euros went up!
2) she paid for it in pounds but got the rebates back in euros when she left amsterdam for sg!
so these 2 factors work in my way.
results: i got the bag at thirty-eight percent 38% cheaper as compared to getting it in sg!!!!!
even the husband was suitably impressed.
anyway, im helping him to save too for he's subsidizing this purchase. haha.

tada! presenting my new love!
the Prada nappa gauffre bag! *muacks*

sigh. what a beauty.
and, im already thinking about my next bag.
ok, just joking lah!

saturdays should be like this

today is one of the busiest saturday for this year! or so it seems.
but im liking all the activities for i've flowery legs.
being out of the house suits me just fine! :)

yz was away at my mum's place so we slept late together with yr till 9+am. shiok.
spent some quality time with yr - just playing with him and bringing him downstairs for a simple brekkie.
enjoy the peaceful moments now before he start walking/running around like his gor gor!

yr in bumbo. he is immensely strong!
after awhile being in it, he will start arching his back, straightening his body stiffly and risking himself to fall out of it totally.
gosh. constant supervision is required for him nowadays.
if not in a bumbo, he will roll over and over till he's out of the playmat and on the hard floor. @_@ then, the wailing wil starts.

after brekkie, mad rush for me to bath and get ready for the long day.
first, im going to yz's childcare to attend a talk held by learning vision, collaborated with fei yue community service.
its titled, " be angry, but dont blow it". in short, anger management lah.
i thought it would be useful for me when dealing with a difficult toddler at home.
i like the previous session on effective discipline held by them, hence i signed up for this new talk.

it was quite an insighful session, albeit a short one.
learnt some facts on the emotional and behavioural aspects of anger per se and some tips on anger management.
but think easier said than done.
its so hard to control one's actions when seeing red!
still, will try to keep in mind some pointers the next time i flare up at yz! or even hubbi alike. :P

then, drove back home to fetch hubbi and yr for we were going to paragon!
ok, more like hubbi dropping yr and me off @ paragon.
for im meeting candice for some shopping @ metro paragon!
20% rebates for skincare products! :)

recently, i'm stocking up on skincare products again.
last wednesday, i popped by my facial place to get some sothys products since there is promotion going on - 50% off the 2nd item purchased!
got myself :
- anti-aging face cream (to use as a night cream)
- anti-aging face serum (current sothys hydration serum is finishing soon)

im particularly excited about the metro sale for its one of the rare store which gives up to 20% rebate! and one of my fav/staple brands sisley is available there too!

stocked up on:
- sisley hydra global day moisturiser (current one about half used)
- sisley eye & lips contour cream (stock up purpose)
- lancome suncblock BB base (current one is the normal range and half used. this new one comes with BB base! im cant wait to try it soon!)
and the good thing about sale is i get tons of samples for free! and they are all travel sized in proper mini bottles. goody good.

had a really fun time browsing all the atas brands bags/wallets with candice again.
she is such a bagwhore just like me! haha.
and yr has been a good boy sitting in his pram all the while with minimal fuss.
maybe he likes shopping just like me. :P

met up with hubbi at ard 4+pm after parting ways with candice.
poor hubbi was waiting for us @ paragon's coffee bean, working away on his laptop.
but secretly, i think he relished such alone moments without us. heh.

next stop: AMK industrial park 1 for times warehouse book sale!
heard about this sale from a fellow mummy yesterday and i cant get it off my mind.
$2 per book for any kind of book!
yr was getting fussy so we only spend like less than 30mins there. with hubbi handling him and me running around like mad woman sourcing for good buys/books.

managed to nab 13 childrens' books for yz! what a steal at $26 given some are hard-cover books which can sell as much as $20+ per book at kino!
sad thing is, i've no time to browse for myself. all those fiction books lying around screaming to be read! sigh.
oh well, one thing i learnt from motherhood is you cant win 'em all.

after that, decided on a whim to go east coast for an early dinner before picking up the elder son from my mum's place.
hubbi was visibly tired out at this point of time.
truth be said, im feeling slightly exhausted too but time is to be stretched and maxed out, no? :P
so onwards to the big splash area for us!

brought hubbi to try the yoshimaru jap restaurant @ the big splash area.
heard good reviews on their mini burgers so ordered that for myself while hubbi chose the normal char-siew ramen for himself.

tada! the mini burgers! really quite tasty, esp the chicken cutlet one.
but really alot for one so i made hubbi share with me.

their black sesame seed ice-cream is really nice too. not too sweet.
and pricing is quite reasonable. it was ard $30 for 2 of us.

slightly grumpy yr by then.
he didnt manage much nap being out with us for nearly the whole day

finally at 7+pm, we slowly made our way to ubi to fetch yz and made a beeline for home soon.
yr was so tired he snoozed immediately once we reached home.
that gave us some quiet time to spend time with the elder son till his later bedtime at 10+pm.
then, finally time for ourselves to enjoy our fav. comfort food - potato chips! while watching tv together.
*yawn*

time for us to snooze too.

fridays - the ultimate mood lifter

ahhhh.... its friday once again.
that means im in a good mood. :)
anyway, was trying to take a breather from the GSS but fingers were just simply itching for some purchases.
then, i saw fox baby/kids having sale.
Up to 50% and additional 10% for 3 items and more!
surely, i can shop for my boys no? hiaks.

a short spin @ bugis during lunch and i've got the boys:
1) 1 romper (yr), 1 berms + 1 shirt (yz) from Fox
2) 1 sleeveless top (yz) from bossini kids
all the above for <$60!
very shiok even when im not shopping for myself. :)

after work, went to fetch yz from childcare before going to my mum's place.
yz is to stay overnight there for tonight as i've a talk to attend tomorrow morning.
hubbi obviously cant handle both kids even though the talk is just gonna be an 1.5hr affair. tsk.

as usual, left all the new clothings at mum's place for her to wash. :P
mainly to keep out of the husband's eyes for time being, lest he nag about me spending moolahs again.

yz wearing the tee we bought from zoo earlier this month + the newly purchased berms!

after, met up with suling for dinner.
she is so sweet to come to my mum's place to look for me!
like the gang, i've known her for 17 years! gosh.
we had dinner @ one of the coffeehouse downstairs and chit-chat just like what we did when we shared a room back in our uni days!
i really miss those carefree days when we just decide to go clubbing on a random tuesday night or singing out loud to our fav. song on FM98.7. :)

made the mistake to go up to mum's place to bid goodbye to yz before going home.
he was so sad to see me leave (even though i told him im going out to "work")!
sigh.
reached home to a sleeping yr too. didnt mange to spend much time with either son today.
but on a positive note, i managed to see my mum, catch up with an old friend and now, some couple time with hubbi.
its tough to be the acrobat balancing on the thin rope.
but at the end of the day, im sure things will work out just fine.

toy story 3

went to catch toy story 3 with hubsbi and yz yesterday.
yz didnt enjoy the show as much as i expected.
maybe the plot is too complicated/adult-themed for him.
maybe there are too many "notti" toys for him.
he actually wanted to leave the cinema half-way through. :(
but he managed to sit through the whole show after i let him sit on my lap and narrated the show as it moved along by whispering in his ear..

ok, back to the show.
it was awesome! as action-packed and past paced as 1 & 2.
but so much more touching moments this time round.
i actually teared twice during the show. sheesh.
sigh. goodbyes are really inevitable in life.
what a sobering thought.
really enjoyed the show.

cant wait for inception in july to watch with the husband!

vaccine, PTC, pinnacle and the undead

1) baby peanut turns 5 months old!
he is growing more and more like a darling boy as the days pass!
- he loves talking to us. will coo non-stop when in the mood
- he is a super friendly baby! so much more of a smiley baby than yz was.
- he just discovered his feet 2 weeks back. nowadays other than flipping, he loves to grab his feet alot.
- he loves to stroke my face when i place my face close to his. and when im lying beside him to accompany him to sleep, his hand will reach out and stroke my forearm. :)
- surprisingly he's easier to settle to sleep as he grows up and compared to gor gor. i just have to lie beside him and pat him while he drifts to dreamland.
- he is slowly but surely sleeping through the night. now, he will sleep back once i pop back the pacifier when he stirs during the night. and he's starting to wake up later around 6+am for his 1st feed.
- he weighs 8.5kg & measures 71.5cm tall now! around same weight as gor gor for same age but definitely taller. :)

we brought him for his jab this morning and he's a brave boy.
cried out for awhile only for the painful pnuemocooccal jab. :)

2) yz's PTC
after yr's jab, sent hubbi and him home before going to yz's childcare with yz.
its his bi-annual PTC!
overall positive feedback from his teacher and im so glad to browse through his personal file showcasing his "art pieces" and feedback from teachers on his activities. :)

gross motor: yz's gross motor is fine but teachers feel that he can be a little overly cautious at times when he should have the ability and confidence to do most tasks like walk up and down stairs, navigate his way through obstacle course set up by them etc
well, guess its due to our upbringing with him.
even before we can "smell" the danger, we will always warn him:"be careful baby! later u fall down/hit your head/pain pain etc.".
guess this leads to his "careful" personality at times.

teacher mentioned that some kids will just walk on the chairs w/o holding on.
well, perhaps yz is just being extra careful here. :P

fine motor: yz demostrated good fine motor skills. and teacher mentioned that he's interested in activities that involve using these skills.
such as stringing things, dipping the round applicator in bubble soap and blowing bubbles with it, holding pen and drawing circles/straight lines etc

language: yz can converse well in both mandarin and english to the teachers. and he knows how to describe pictures when shown to them.

yz loving his animals!

cognitive skills: according to the teacher, yz is more of an observer. last time, she thought that yz is not really learning as he will normally sit quietly and not really participating when they are having some lessons learnt or singing sessions. however after sometimes, he will just join in and sing out the songs correctly or do the tasks as per taught. :)
so he has been absorbing after all.

yz singing along with hand actions in class

also, yz shows that he knows his shapes well as well as the ability to differentiate sizes.

things to work on:
1) yz is still not toilet-trained yet. nowadays, we will take off his diapers during evening time and weekends. he has successfully pee into the toilet bowl and poo into the potty a few times.
but still far from perfect as the diapers go back on again during weekdays, when we are outside and during the night. so not much practice time. @_@
2) he can be a lil' playful at school, disturbing his peers and not listening to teachers' instructions at times.
teacher said he's the leader of the pack. eg: they were told to line up for bathtime etc, yz will disobey instructions and run to play with toys and the rest will follow suit.
@_@
as i was telling hubbi, "your son shows his leadership quality through this way!" haha.

oh, and teacher mentioned that yz is really comfortable in school's environment now and is able to play/interact well with his peers.
this is the most important part.
nothing beats seeing my boy spending his day in joy each day.

3) duxton - Don's hse warming
don invited us to his hsewarming @ Duxton and off we go after yr's nap!
after hearing so many mixed reviews about the pinnacle, we were there to see it up close and personal for the first time.
i like the setting of the project. has a condo feel to it and the facilities are awesome.
imagine a jogging track on the rooftop!
though the floor area of the unit is a little small, Don and his wife made it look bigger with the predominantly white decor.

so many people stay there! personally, i know of 4 persons staying there!

4) passport application
its finally time to apply a passport for yz!!
if all things go well, he will be on his way for his 1st overseas trip next month!
to the truly asia place, malaysia that is! LOL
we have to start with somewhere near i guess. :P

this is his passport photo:

not the best but will do for now!

5) zombieland!
just watched this show with hubbi and its super funny!
never a fan of zombies but wanted to watch after reading how funny it was.
and true to its reviews, it was a blasting entertainment.
still, zombies are so yucky.
think rotting flesh, blood oozing, guts hanging out and foul greenish/brownish viomit.
totally sucks.

a fulfilling friday morning!

was originally on half-day leave just to bring yr for his monthly jab.
but as today draws nearer, there was a change of plans.
yz's childcare was organizing a "design-t-shirt" exercise for father's day.
parents (specifically daddies) were invited to join in the fun.
as the husband has work commitment and cant take leave, i shall be the one accompanying yz since i've already taken leave for today.
yr's jab will have to wait till tomorrow.

so in the morning, papa, mammy & yz left the house for a hearty breakfast @ kiliney's road near hubbi's workplace.
its nice to sit down and enjoy breakfast together. we are always too busy during normal weekdays to do this.

after that, hubbi left for work while yz and I made our way to his childcare.
as i feared, im the only mummy around! there was 1 other mummy but she were there with the father. @_@
oh well. yz didnt seem to notice and we were too busy focusing on decorating the t-shirt soon after!

the teachers prepared the "ingredients" while we were to come up with a plain tee.
had fun decorating the tee with yz! he was soo happy with all the available stickers to play with. :)

tada! the end result!
of cos, i wrote the "i love dad" , drew the smile and applied most of the white glue.

but yz was the one who sprinkled all the little decor bits and pasted the stickers on!

kiddo hard at work

us with the finished product. think the t-shirt is meant to be displayed rather than worn.
i mean, i cant imagine this tee going into the washing machine. @_@

after the session, parents were to leave and i left for town.
since its still early to meet the husband for lunch, i hit the stores instead. :P

damage:
1) a romper + an overall (for peanut) + a berms (for wormy) from GAP
2) 2 tops from NAF NAF
3) 1 dress from banana republic

random comments about GSS (dont read if not interested):
1) banana republic - further sale up to 50%. i so heart their dresses!
2) ted baker starts its sale! - but prices still very steep given the 30% disc. and the clothings on sale aint that fantastic.
3) A/X still hasnt start its sale. :(
4) MNG sales started since wednesday but i cant find anything i like yet.
5) zara sale should be end july. good, give my wallet some rest before i start my engine. LOL

almost dreaded meeting hubbi with all the shopping bags. :(
again, he lei diao by my purchases and half-jokingly told me:"get a grip!! you are not the one with promotion!".
bleh.
(yup, hubbi just got promoted or rather a progression from his current position!:) having said so, time to source for some neat restaurants for him to treat me and our families!)

asked him to meet me @ wild honey at mandarin gallery to try out the food.
heard some good feedback about this place and decided to try it.

the egg benedict was good!
and portion is rather huge which i find it just nice for 2 to share..
hubbi thought the price is abit steep but thats his usual comments so kindly ignore.

all in all, a fun packed friday morning.
all friday mornings should be like this!

weight updates #5

the weight kind of kena stuck liao.
for the past month, my weight fell by 0.5kg (only!!) to 54.5kg and wont budge liao. :(
my theory is my body has sort of reach "ideal" weight and to lose the last 1.5kg is going to take time and lotsa hard work. @_@

hubbi's take is that because i've started my exercise routine, part of my body fats have turned into mass and hence the weight becomes stagnant.
he even further warned me that i may get heavier as more fats get converted to mass.
eeks.

oh well.
no choice but to continue exercising and watching my diet now and then.
so long healthy and body shape becomes toner, i cant complain much bah.

and im really happy that i can start eating junk again.
potato chips, full cream milk, ice cream, mac meals, chocolates, bring 'em on!

Wednesday, June 16, 2010

now you know why i like italy team

just kidding lah!
i love them for their impeccable defence, passing accuracy, attacking midfielders etc.

ok, maybe im not really kidding. haha.

to add on with random comments:
- i always feel pirlo looks like a young version of al pacino
- canavaro looks the same as 4 years ago!! how did he do it?!
- how come totti not in this ad, huh huh huh!?!?

house warming @ huiwen's hse!

huiwen invited us to her new house for a housewarming session today!
her place is at cantonment area and damn close to tanjong pagar.
very centralized location! :)
she made us some really yummylicious salad too! *slurp*

as usual, the girls chit-chatty non-stop with the addtions of 2 boys - Wayne & NH. LOL.
a pity that stella & bobo didnt manage to join us.

brought yz along and he monkeyed around here and there.

but managed to still keep my cool. haha.

oh and jm got a new camera! a DSRL from panasonic lumix series!
though the price tag is hefty but i think its worth the price!
very fast shutter speed that allows yz to be photographed despite him wriggling here and there like a worm!!

the photos turn out so nice!

again, my face very fat beside huiwen's one. hahaha

GSS part 3

GSS is not even half-way done and im boderline broke liao.
jia lat.

ever since my last purchase (top from banana republic), ive gone on to buy:
1) 1 more top from Dressy
2) 1 pair of shoes from Nine West
3) 1 pair of shoes + 1 top from GG5
4) many stuff from crabtree & evelyn!! (2 body scrubs/2 body lotions/soaps/1 body wash/1 handcream)

the husband is only one hairline short of giving up on me.
oh well.

and he didnt know im still waiting out for A/X and zara sale.
*gulp*

we are going to the zoo zoo zoo!

hubbi has balloted for his corporate pass to bring us to zoo yesterday!
though the last time we went was quite recently in mar, we were pretty excited to revisit it with yz again.
as we only managed to comb less than half of it previously (we went to attend a bday party), we were eager to explore the other parts of zoo. :)
so both of us took leave and left the house early in the morning for the excursion!

photo time with yz!

been sometimes since we last took such 大头照!
while waiting for hubbi to get the car from the carpark, its camwhoring time again!
muah, kiss kiss and taste some of my loose powder

嘟嘟嘴!

was a tad worried that it may be crowded there since its the school holidays now.
but my worries were unfounded. :)
we had brekkie again at ah meng kopi for im craving for some old school food like half-boiled eggs & butter sugar bread. *yum*

yz still remembered these ben&jerry cows. :)

he was really freaked out by these 树 uncles. haha.

this time round, he was more daring to walk around on his own.
guess he knows by now that the animals are cages out and not roaming around! haha.

he actually remember the fake otters display!

1st stop: giraffe feeding time!
on the way, we visit animals like zebras, rhinos, ostrichs etc which yz terms as "good animals".
first time i saw giraffes up close and realised that they have long dark greyish tongues. eeks.
yz was scared to feed them carrots. also good lah, save us $5. haha.

after this, we continue on the foot path for a series of "notti animals"!
we saw the lions (which gave me the creeps too), jaguar, mountain cats, crocodiles (my worst nightmare!!) etc.
its yz 1st time seeing all these animals as we missed it the last time round.
he is rather scared of these notti animals esp. after seeing how they "tackled" "good animals" like antelopes, water buffalos, zebras, deer etc on animal planet. LOVL.
so after the briefest time watching these notti animals, yz will said:" bye bye lion/leopard etc" and urged us to move on. haha.

feeling rather brave in papa's arms, yz roaring and pretending to be mountain lion (puma) like those behind him

next stop: feeding time for the jaguars!

we watched them through a glass pane. yz got to see these beautiful creatures up close and personal. :)

it started drizzling abit so we seeked refuge at kidzworld!

letting yz tried on the diff kiddos' hats

we had lunch @ KFC and desserts from ben & jerry as well! :)
so glad that yz recovered well enough from his fever and cough to make it for this trip.
but we didnt let him play at the water works but he didnt seem to miss it much too..

@ KFC

kidzworld seems to have fewer animals as compared to the days when i was a kid.
we saw some horses, ponies and goats. and... nothing much liao. *scratch head*
thought there were rabbits, chickens etc when i was here as a kid.

yz really really enjoyed this animal carousal ride
kept waving @ papa when we circled past him. :)

after kidzworld, we went to stop by awhile at elephant rides.
again, scaredy cat yz was reluctant to go up on the elephant and forbading me to do so too. :(
but at least he got to see how big a real elephant is for we were unable to go to the elephants of asia area this time round again.

then its onwards to amphitheatre for "rainforest fights back" show.
quite interesting and we got to see orang utan, lemurs, otters etc doing their stunts.
but i still prefer the splash safari we watched back in mar.
the sealion is really good with his tricks!

and then its time for us to bid farewell to zoo.
slowly made our way out and saw a few more animals along the way.
saw hippos, flamingos and the white tigers.
this time all 3 white tigers were pacing up and down the ledge and looking intensely over our (visitors) way. *shudders*
didnt help that the stupid husband said they were trying to estimate the distance and to go for the final jump over to our side soon!
argh! so irritating.
scared the hell outta me. quickly ask yz to say bye bye to them and made a beeline for the exit. @_@
GSS was on even in the zoo. hiaks.
buy 2 tops and get 1 top free! lucky i didnt get anything the last time we were here!
this time round, i bought 2 tops for yz and 1 for yr. 3 tees for $58.
not exactly cheap but i like the designs. :)

it was abt 230pm when we left the place and yz was visibly tired.
but can see that he really enjoyed himself tons!

look how happy he was!
i wonder when can we go night safari!?
i miss taking photos with snakes. :(

successful sleep training!

the whole initiative is actually spearheaded by hubbi.
though we've been discussing this for the longest time, but i just do not have the heart to go ahead with it.
i feel that yz is facing alot of changes recently from the arrival of didi (which hubbi argued its almost a good 5mths liao!), promoting to N1 in school (which is no difference actually since same classmates, same teachers @_@) and the impending toilet training.
but hubbi feels that its the right time already and will make things easier for all of us.
(which i wonder why since im the one accompanying yz to sleep most of the times!)

anyway, the husband went to do alot of research online and gathered some interesting facts/tips to kick-start the training.
some points that i recall:
1) tell the tod 1st thing in the morn that he is going to sleep on his own to prepare him rather than just throw him the bomb at night
2) keep to a routine so he will expect what is coming up. this is easy as its routine for yz to spend some quiet time in our room reading/playing followed by milk feed, brushing of teeth and finally lights out.
3) kids normally are unable to sleep of their own due to various reasons:
- hunger (not a prob since yz always have his milk feed before sleeping time)
- attachment to the parents (hubbi's suggestion is to tell him a short story/relate to him on our days in the dark and finally an "i love you" & goodnight kiss before leaving the room)
- fear for dark/monster in cupboard/under the bed (mattress for yz and we leave the door slightly open for some light into the room
- not sleepy yet (yz normally tired out by 9+pm since he woke up pretty early with us at 7am..)
and after 1 week of "training", yz goes to sleep on his own in the bedroom now!!!

im pretty amazed at how fast yz adapts to this new arrangement and hubbi's involvement and patience in the whole thing.
he is always the one to bring yz back into the room when yz comes running out from our room during the inital training nights.
he will tell yz firmly that he has to try going to sleep alone, that papa & mammy are just outside doing our stuff, that we love him etc.
at times, he even go back into the room to tell yz another short story to soothe him.

so for now, after settling yr to sleep by 830pm, we will spend sometime with yz in his room before leaving him alone to sleep by 915pm.
then hubbi and me are free to do up the household chores/bath/other rubbish things.
so much time free up!
goody good.

now to start working on yr sleeping through the night!

the good thing about having a gym buddy....

is that it keeps one more motivated to going classes.
i especially look forward to the evening pilates & body combat classes on wednesday when mad dd is joining me.
so keep on joining me, mad dd!!

typical tuesday for mama ko

645am: wake up (BIG YAWN)_bath

730am: milk for yz_dress up for work_dress yz up for school

745am: ng family moves out of redhill

800am: drop yz @ school

830am: drop yr @ ubi

900am: drop hubbi @ bugis to take mrt to work_reach office

1200pm: normally lunch alone to run errands/catch up with latest magazines

515pm: off work_set off for yz's childcare

545pm: fetch yz from school

615pm: fetch hubbi workplace in town_ready for dinner date with hubbi + yz!

i dread and look forward to tuesday at the same time.
as we need to send yr to my mum's place for his routine 3D2N stay in the morning, i've to wake up especially early to prepare for the day.
and this is very hard given the past 5 sleepless nights handling yr in the week...
BUT, i get to spend quality time with the husband and the elder son in the evening.
and get to go gai gai in town most of the time. good. :)
oh well, things will get better once yr sleeps through the night.

kick ass kicks ass!

caught "kick ass" recently with the husband.
it was surprisingly good. perhaps due to it exceeding my expectations of it.
the violence is a milder version of kill bill.
the fast pace typical for a movie based on comics.
the plus point is, the plot aint as sunshine as i thought.
bordering on the dark side like how "watchmen" is.
my cup of tea.

Monday, June 07, 2010

weekends is so tiring with 2 kids!

the heat drove the ng family to the shopping malls during the weekend.

despite the chore of lugging a huge baby bag, nagging/shouting non-stop at a very active toddler who will still turns cranky towards evening time from lack of a proper nap during the afternoon + a baby who is still on full milk regime meaning getting very cranky near feeding time and needing at least 3 naps per day (each nap ranging from falling to sleep by himself, whining abit while sleeping super fast in our arms to full bawling+struggling in our arms before settling to an angry sleep), ah long and me ventured out still.

went raffles city & centrepoint respectively on sat + sun.
just simple window-shopping, nice dinner and then desserts time before we went home.
very tiring but satisfying too. :)

and yz finally really warms up to his didi.
he will play with him when he sees him which is quite rare by the way for weekdays yz is away at school and evenings are normally chaotic with each of us tending to 1 kid each.

furthermore, yr is away at my mum place for 3D2N every week.
so the only time for real interaction between the brothers is during weekends!

look at how yz showed his love for didi!

must monitor in case yz gets too excited w didi

muah! a big fat kiss for u!

and comeback of baby bjorn!
since yr's neck is quite steady, we put him in it and off we go!
so when yz is cranky, will prop him into pram and yr into carrier!
then, ah long and me will be free to get things done. :)

very very happy yr with forward facing position. but poor pappy's back lah.

my lovely boy. bery handsome ok! despite 大小眼. haha

anyway yr is really a very friendly and smiley baby.
he will coo to strangers and smile ever so ready to most people.
though he continues to be a terror at night, waking up 2-3 times each night. @_@
im still guilty of not spending enough time with him, if using the time i spent with yz back then as yardstick.
trying my best to balance my time among my many responsibilities..

he didnt really inherit my eyes. good or bad? hmmm...
