vaccine, PTC, pinnacle and the undead

1) baby peanut turns 5 months old!
he is growing more and more like a darling boy as the days pass!
- he loves talking to us. will coo non-stop when in the mood
- he is a super friendly baby! so much more of a smiley baby than yz was.
- he just discovered his feet 2 weeks back. nowadays other than flipping, he loves to grab his feet alot.
- he loves to stroke my face when i place my face close to his. and when im lying beside him to accompany him to sleep, his hand will reach out and stroke my forearm. :)
- surprisingly he's easier to settle to sleep as he grows up and compared to gor gor. i just have to lie beside him and pat him while he drifts to dreamland.
- he is slowly but surely sleeping through the night. now, he will sleep back once i pop back the pacifier when he stirs during the night. and he's starting to wake up later around 6+am for his 1st feed.
- he weighs 8.5kg & measures 71.5cm tall now! around same weight as gor gor for same age but definitely taller. :)

we brought him for his jab this morning and he's a brave boy.
cried out for awhile only for the painful pnuemocooccal jab. :)

2) yz's PTC
after yr's jab, sent hubbi and him home before going to yz's childcare with yz.
its his bi-annual PTC!
overall positive feedback from his teacher and im so glad to browse through his personal file showcasing his "art pieces" and feedback from teachers on his activities. :)

gross motor: yz's gross motor is fine but teachers feel that he can be a little overly cautious at times when he should have the ability and confidence to do most tasks like walk up and down stairs, navigate his way through obstacle course set up by them etc
well, guess its due to our upbringing with him.
even before we can "smell" the danger, we will always warn him:"be careful baby! later u fall down/hit your head/pain pain etc.".
guess this leads to his "careful" personality at times.

teacher mentioned that some kids will just walk on the chairs w/o holding on.
well, perhaps yz is just being extra careful here. :P

fine motor: yz demostrated good fine motor skills. and teacher mentioned that he's interested in activities that involve using these skills.
such as stringing things, dipping the round applicator in bubble soap and blowing bubbles with it, holding pen and drawing circles/straight lines etc

language: yz can converse well in both mandarin and english to the teachers. and he knows how to describe pictures when shown to them.

yz loving his animals!

cognitive skills: according to the teacher, yz is more of an observer. last time, she thought that yz is not really learning as he will normally sit quietly and not really participating when they are having some lessons learnt or singing sessions. however after sometimes, he will just join in and sing out the songs correctly or do the tasks as per taught. :)
so he has been absorbing after all.

yz singing along with hand actions in class

also, yz shows that he knows his shapes well as well as the ability to differentiate sizes.

things to work on:
1) yz is still not toilet-trained yet. nowadays, we will take off his diapers during evening time and weekends. he has successfully pee into the toilet bowl and poo into the potty a few times.
but still far from perfect as the diapers go back on again during weekdays, when we are outside and during the night. so not much practice time. @_@
2) he can be a lil' playful at school, disturbing his peers and not listening to teachers' instructions at times.
teacher said he's the leader of the pack. eg: they were told to line up for bathtime etc, yz will disobey instructions and run to play with toys and the rest will follow suit.
@_@
as i was telling hubbi, "your son shows his leadership quality through this way!" haha.

oh, and teacher mentioned that yz is really comfortable in school's environment now and is able to play/interact well with his peers.
this is the most important part.
nothing beats seeing my boy spending his day in joy each day.

3) duxton - Don's hse warming
don invited us to his hsewarming @ Duxton and off we go after yr's nap!
after hearing so many mixed reviews about the pinnacle, we were there to see it up close and personal for the first time.
i like the setting of the project. has a condo feel to it and the facilities are awesome.
imagine a jogging track on the rooftop!
though the floor area of the unit is a little small, Don and his wife made it look bigger with the predominantly white decor.

so many people stay there! personally, i know of 4 persons staying there!

4) passport application
its finally time to apply a passport for yz!!
if all things go well, he will be on his way for his 1st overseas trip next month!
to the truly asia place, malaysia that is! LOL
we have to start with somewhere near i guess. :P

this is his passport photo:

not the best but will do for now!

5) zombieland!
just watched this show with hubbi and its super funny!
never a fan of zombies but wanted to watch after reading how funny it was.
and true to its reviews, it was a blasting entertainment.
still, zombies are so yucky.
think rotting flesh, blood oozing, guts hanging out and foul greenish/brownish viomit.
totally sucks.
