weekends are so fun yet tiring!
maybe its time for us to veg at home for one saturday or two soon....
still we managed to get things done/bought, planned or unplanned this weekend!

1) hubbi went to install front sensors for our civic.
he thinks its best for us to do so after my knock on the bumper in the multi-storey carpark end last month. :(
yah lah, its more for my sake. bleh.
now he kept on ribbing me saying can i handle my dream car which is a much bigger sedan than our current one. pui!

2) met up with jm, huiwen & shirley @ marmalade pantry @ ion for lunch with yr in tow.
lil' peanut promptly fell asleep for his nap leaving me to have my lunch in peace for the next 1hr+. :)
this is my 1st time there and i found the food over-priced.
food was really quite nice but for that kinda price, i rather head to wild honey.
had fun yakking with the girls! :)

tada! return of the infamous leggings.
even the prada sales assistant said his mummy has good fashion sense ok!

let him wear the most "in" animal prints leggings. wahahah.

3) bought a mattress for yz!
been procastinating for the longest time cos hubbi kept lamenting no space to fit in our room.
got him one with pocketed spring. hopefully it will last him for the next 5 years or more!
delivery will be on tuesday and we've also gotten him a cute pooh bedsheet set, chosen by none other than himself! haha.

4) we bought a new camera! our existing canon ixus has served us very well for the past 5 years but its color quality is getting alittle faded and battery life getting crankier.
and of cos, i was very tempted by all the new features of a new camera:
higher megapixel, faster shutter speed, wide angle lens etc etc.
so we settled for a mid-range digital camera - Panasonic Lumix FX 68.
of cos the newer TZ10 is much more appealing but it would cost us another $250 more.
upon consideration, dear dear and me feel that FX68 would serve us just as well. :)

5) birthday pressie settled for yz!
as some of my friends would know, ah long and me seldom indulge in buying toys for yz.
books is the only thing that I would buy for him on a consistent basis.
the only toys we are really approving of are lego sets! i've grown up playing with lego and i feel its a good toy to allow the kiddos to explore their creativity and imagination.
and yz has shown us that he can play with his lego sets by himself/with us for extended periods.
he will even build his own models and weave a story on how the people/animals are functioning.
its really entertaining seeing him at "work".

to date, yz has 4 lego sets:
1) a farmhouse set which is his bday prezzie from my auntie for his 1yo bday
2) a thomas and friend train set which is his bday prezzie from my mum for his 2yo bday
3) a zoo set which is yr's "gift" to him when i gave birth to didi
4) a zoo extension set which is from us to him for no reason

as above, you can see that yz seldom expect toys to be given to him for no apparant reason.
there is always some sort of occasions before he has some exciting new toys.
as such, he will never fuss/whine for us to buy him toys when we visit departmental stores and i intend to extend this mentality with him to didi as well.

the boy really love lego!
he will walk round "choosing" his set but never insisting to buy
so we will have a good idea which set is the one that he really want cos that will be the one he repeatedly go to whenever we go to a lego/toy store!

as taka having a 3days special 20% sale on lego, we bought for him a huge ass farm barn lego set on sunday. :)
now its sitting quietly in our storeroom, waiting to surprise yz on his bday next month! :)

6) mooncake festival is here again!!
its really scary how time flies and the festives are re-appearing before you know it.
as usual, im on my hunt for the best durian mooncake.
so far, i've sample-tasted a few brands at taka mooncake fair and bought home D24 snowskin durian from home's favourites! i've eaten 1 mooncake each for the past 2 nights. *gulp*
2 more to go then i can go and buy new ones! *muhaha*
im thinking of getting:
1) pandan mao shan wang snowskin mooncake from peony jade
2) D24 snowskin mooncake from four seasons
*
yay*

we got for my mum the traditional white lotus paste w/single yolk from shangri-la.
though the packaging seems so-so and dear insisted that its abit over-priced, we feel that the mooncake is really tasty!
the lotus paste is smooth and the salted egg is of good texture and not blended like some brands. *yumyum*

yah, we accomplished the above in 1 weekend.
no wonder i felt more burnt out than relaxed. @_@
cant wait for our long-awaited holiday to come this friday! :))
