random updates in ecookie's life

1) was on leave yesterday, so decided to go jogging on a whim.
hubbi dropped me at the henderson park on his way to work.
managed 2 miserable laps (that is ard. 1.3km if you are interested) before a stitch by my side stopped the whole gung-ho exercise.
slow-walked back to my house as part of a cooling down procedure (the park is around 2 bus-stops from my house if you are interested again).
but alas, my seldom-see-the-sunlight sportshoes disintegrated during the walk back.
1st the left sole of the shoe started flapping then came off altogether. so i threw it away.
then the same happened to the right one. @_@
i own zero pair of sportshoes now.

2) yz is a big boy liao!
we've upgraded him to booster seat last week.
though he is still short of the min. weight requirement of 15kg (he's 14.4kg now), he fits in nicely because of his height.
decided to get him a graco junior booster seat with backing after some screening at robinson.
was about to buy it over the weekend when luck has it that hubbi's colleague needs to make a trip down to graco's warehouse on thursday.
his colleague has gotten a hand-me-down playpen from his sis and needed to get a replacement for one of the spare part.
so he said he will help us to look out for our booster seat and help us get it if it's cheaper.
and he did!
he got it for us at $99 when it's retailing at $139. :)

3) caught shutter island yesterday.
the movie is good! kinda mind-f***ed you as you follow the main lead (oh leo!!) in his investigations on the island.
this might just be leo's best performance to date! for the longest time, im not so sure about the partnership between martin scorsese and dicaprio.
somehow, he cant seem to bring out the potential in dicaprio the way he did for de niro (to be fair, aviator is surprisingly good).
but this time round, shutter island nailed it.
a good psychological thriller, not unlike cape fear. and leo! (i cant stress enough) acted darn well in it.

4) bought 2 books today.
shutter island by Dennis Lehane & What the dog saw by malcolm gladwell.
i've a good feeling they'll be good. good.

5) going to watch Monga tonight.
RJT! *swoon*
