Perth Part 2 - Fremantle, Cottesloe Beach

Since perth city is so small and kinda boring, we've venture out.
So we made a day trip to both Fremantle & Cottesloe beach!
Fremantle is only 25mins away from Perth city by train.
its a small nice port near the sea, dotted with many eateries and shops.
and of cos, the 2 markets (E-shed & fremantle) over there are a must-go for most.

we bought small sugar donuts for the son while waiting for the train.
he loves it! but when we returned from fremantle in the evening, it was sold out.
and it was sold out agian when we dropped by the next afternoon. :(

interesting poster on board.

we popped over to E-shed market since it being nearer to the train station.
nothing really interesting over there but some food and sourvenirs.
after, that its a good walk to the Fremantle market by strolling past the shops/cafes along the streets.

yz intently looking at the buskers

... which requires registration ok! and limited time as well.

the food section of the Fremantle market is really interesting.
esp. this twisted potato slices! twisted from a real potato, fried and BBQ powder sprinkled on it right before our eyes!

on our way to fishing boat harbour @ Fremantle for our lunch, we walked past a playground.
yz had a blast there though hubbi and me were kinda shivering in the wind waiting for him to be done. :P

berry happy yz

lunch was at cicerellos @ fishing boat harbour.
very crowded there!! thanks to the affordable tasty fish n chips there.

our lunch. yz seems alarmed by the portion.

we left Fremantle around late afternoon for even there is also too small to keep us for long.
we took the train back to Perth but alighted half-way to Cottesloe Beach.
it seemed like a mistake when we got off the train at an extremely small and desolated station. @_@
cottesloe beach is known as a good place for surfing but you can imagine the no. of surfers in this temperature...
and to make things worse, the beach was a good 25mins walk from the station which involves a steep slope. sigh.
but, the view was worth the walk when the Indian Ocean appeared suddenly as the slope comes to an end!

the son decided to take a snooze in his pram.
hubbi and i were glad to make use of the time to settle into one of the cafe, enjoying hot chocolate, reading magazines and frittered the time away. :)

us in the cafe
dinner was in one of the random restaurant/cafe in perth city.
and the rissoto served here was so good that i went back for another time before we flew back.
wahaha.

i dont know what's yz's finger about?

we bought this dino wooden puzzle from Fremantle market and yz loves it!
the blocks are numbered and to complete it, yz needs to follow the number sequencing.
i thought its kinda good for him to learn numbers! :)

ending the post with a picture showing how dry weather is a no-no for hair.
