Perth Part 1 - Barrack Square, Swan River

yz went on his first overseas trip (by air) to perth last month!
i was really glad that perth is afterall the right decision as he really enjoyed the time there, seeing all the animals, the hotel/farm stays and experiencing the cold weather! :)

we sent peanut to my mum's place in the late afternoon and then back home to do last minute packing.

i really really didnt want yz to fall sick (though he and i did eventually... @_@) over there, so was furiously checking if we brought enough clothings to keep him warm and also adequate medicine just in case.
after that, we were good to make our way to T3 for our night flight!

cheeky baby @ T3. wayyy past his sleeping time, resulting in a very hyper toddler.....

yz was really excited to take the plane for the 1st time and kept asking when are we boarding the flight!
by the time we boarded it, he was asleep within minutes in his seat and missing the take-off totally. wahaha.
take off & landing were good but we did experience some bad turbulences on the way there.
sigh, i really hate flying.
saw some fellow passengers snoring their way through the turbulences and wish fervently that i can be just like them. :(

touched down @ perth airport in early morning.
too early to check-in so we left our luggage @ Novotel before venturing out again.
the temperature is not too cold around 10 degree celcius? but with the wind, it can feel so cold!
*brrr*

1st stop, to barrack square to see the swan bell tower!

fully geared up yz for the cold weather.
barrack square is a good 25mins walk from our hotel.
the swan river view took our mind off the walking part. :)

swan bell tower looks pretty impressive, huh?
planned to go up and see the view from top but hubbi and i decided against it last minute.
the real tower is really small and not tall when we were up close and personal.......
we spent some lovely time hanging around barrack square, taking in the river view.
and having our first lovely aussie breakfast - eggs benedicts! *yumyum*

a very happy yz.

*yumyum*

public transport is kinda free in perth city, which is totally awesome!
CAT covers most of the main streets and we used it alot to get from places to places within perth.

waiting for the bus @ a CAT bus stop.
frequency is between 5-15mins which is displayed on a digital board.

on board & curious

perth city is really really small come to think about it.
covers hay street, barrack street etc etc and you've pretty much covered most of it...
still, we did enjoyed the slow pace of life there.
just leisurely walking around with no aim/destination, shopping at random shops and rest our feet at any cafe when we feel like it. :)

waiting with yz for papa to buy lunch @ a cafe
we were worried that yz didnt have enuff to eat given the kind of ang moh food we kept eating over there.
so, we ordered room service and never regret it!
the grill fish we ordered can easily be the tastiest food we had over there!

yz mad happy with his fries mostly.
ok, more about fremantle & swan valley in other posts.
